THIS PLACE RUINED MY LIFE! In 2016, i was a 18 year old…read moresenior at this school. Shortly before finals my bus driver reported to administration that i smelled like cigarettes apparently. So upon arriving at school i was yanked off the bus before all the other kids and brought into the office where i was subsequently searched like a criminal. After nothing was found they still proceeded to suspend me for 10 days (during finals). It wasn't until THE DAY OF finals i got a call from the school asking me to come in to take the tests which i couldn't do because i had no way of getting there. 4 weeks before school ended they called me into the office and informed me i wasn't going to be graduating and when i asked about summer school or anyway to obtain enough credits i was told they didn't offer that and i would need to figure it out myself. Long story short this cost me my diploma. I never walked the stage or went to Prom. Im still not sure how it's even legal to suspend a legal age adult for just smelling like cigarettes! I didn't even bring a lighter or any paraphernalia onto school property! Do yourself and your child big favor and don't let them go to the school. Between the unprofessional teachers and administration and the gang activity I'd highly recommend you stay far away from this place. If they don't like you, they will find a reason to make you fail. I've been haunted by this place ever since I went there. And I was honestly shocked to see that they are still in operation. This place should be shut down. It has ruined mine and so many others lives. Because of what they did to me, I was forced to get a GED fat in certain states is not even recognized even though it is an accredited program. So I can't even work in a prison as a correctional officer or even be a lowlife mall cop. Thanks Palmetto for ruining my life.

They offer Spanish and art as well for extracurricular which is fantastic because my kids are now learning to be fluent in Spanish. All teachers have their own wonderful ways of teaching our babies. The practice of having the school close so that the staff can celebrate holidays with their own family is well known in advance and practical for keeping happy teachers for decades. Smarty Pants stayed open for me and my family during COVID lockdown so that we could work. Tuition is paid for closed holidays so that staff can be paid. I completely disagree with the one star review listed here. You pay for the quality of care you receive.

Anytime we have brought up a question or a concern, her immediate response was to threaten to "release us" from our contract; basically, if you don't like the way she does something, she has no interest in discussing it and would be happy to leave your child without daycare (obviously, any place good has a waiting list). The facility electively closed the entire week of Thanksgiving and still charged tuition, and I questioned the fairness of that closure and payment: see the attached photos. Smarty Pants cashed our post-dated check a week early, "released us from our contract" the next day, and will not return our NUMEROUS attempts to reach them about why they won't return $275 they took from us. There is rapid turnover with the teachers, as well. Jillian acts like they run a non-profit and is constantly asking for "donations" (we spent $150 on our child's back-to-school supplies). Everything about this place is a money-grab, and there is no true relationship with families.

The teachers are not only kind and attentive, but also incredibly knowledgeable about early childhood development and the Montessori approach. They take the time to understand each child's unique personality and learning style, and it really shows in how Luca is growing. Since starting at Discover Montessori, we've seen so much progress in Luca's language skills, independence, and confidence. He comes home excited to share what he's learned and is always eager to go back the next day--which says a lot! We love how the environment encourages hands-on learning, problem-solving, and collaboration, all while allowing the children to explore at their own pace. The school communicates well with parents and creates a strong sense of community. They send daily pictures and updates and we always feel informed and involved in Luca's day-to-day learning. You will be treated like a high school student with dress codes and immature co-students. Any student who requires one intense class of intensity at a time and thinks this is acceptable for licensing for medical is immature and out of touch with reality. Life requires multitasking. Medical practice requires multitasking. Passing the board requires much more information than the school can provide. Their answer? They have someone come in at the end and teach you how to take the test, nothing more. You will pay $10,000 for the first months and find out that you cannot withdraw and cannot get your money returned after you discover the teachers are buffoons.
