A mom-of-two's (a toddler and preschooler) straight-forward review -…read more This is one of our favorite parks for various reasons. The playground and tennis courts are merely separated by a parking lot therefore it is easy to transition between the two. Our four year old has begun taking tennis lessons from her daddy and we usually do not have to wait for an opening in the morning. There are four tennis courts and they are well maintained. Our 2.5 year old does not share the same interest as her sister and her attention span is relatively short. So after participating in a few drills and playing ball girl, she would request to go to the playground. The playground has a rubberized surfacing with several climbing structures, four slides, a swaying boat, and swing set. The playground does not get overly crowded and there are plenty to keep our girls entertained. There is a sheltered section that's great for families to hang out when it gets overly hot. There is one small con though - the only bathroom is a porta potty by the parking lot. Fortunately we have yet to make use of it and I hope it stays that way.

This park is super cute! Perfect for a playdate and mommy & me meet up. If you've got tiny tikes…read more0-3 this is perfect for you. Just enough to do without the overwhelm of the larger parks. The turf is super soft so no worries for the dangers of falling or the mess of wood chips. That said, I gave 4 stars because of how underwhelming the park is. As a mom of a 3yr old AND a 5yr old I feel this park is far more geared towards the ity bits (0-3) vs. bigger elementary age/size kids. I did however love that it was sunken away from the parking lot and had a bike/scooter trail around the perimeter and a few benches on the pathway along with a shaded gazebo with seating for a lunch break. Overall it's adorable and if my kids were smaller it'd be on regular rotation. I love that it's here for the new mamas & daddies but it likely won't be the best fit for our family to often frequent. However, if I get some time alone with my 3yr old, we may come back, just the two of us

For frame of reference, this trail isn't far from the IKEA store in Bolingbrook. The trail is about…read morea 10 minute drive from there and is a great trail for biking, running or walking. The trail is saddled by nature on one side and beautiful homes on the other. While we visited this approx. 3 to 4 mile trail during the winter, it still provided all of nature in its glory with a small creek, tall trees and wildlife. One of the best parts about the trail is there's one house that leaves painted rocks with inspirational messages right along the trail for people who pass by. Next to the rocks there's a message that says "Take one, Share one, Leave one." As I bent down to pick one up a fellow walker on the trail yelled out he had five at home. He said the inspirational messages really helped make his day, and we agreed.

We have done swimming classes through the park district and they were fantastic…read more A disappointment has been the parent and tot gymnastics. We paid $120 for 10 sessions. I didn't expect my two year old toddler to learn actual gymnastics but the problem is there is really no instruction. The teacher leads stretches and then says "ok go do the obstacle course" for 30 minutes. I was so confused during our first class that no other parent looked confused and just started doing the obstacle course. However, I learned that most of the parents this was their second time doing gymnastics at the park district. I felt so lost. I wasn't sure how my son should be doing the obstacle course, and I thought there would at least be some sort of instruction when I signed up. This is definitely not a class because no one teaches. This should just be "pre-pay for 10 sessions of open gym time." 10 weeks is way too long to do the same obstacle course every Saturday without instruction. The kids in the ninja class look happy but I'm skeptical now if I'll even sign my child up for this in the future.
