This place is so much fun for the kiddos. Love the zip line swing and how it's surrounded by trees.

I'm so glad for finding this! It's tucked away so make sure you pull into the right place. if google maps takes you to a daycare playground pull out and drive out further along the road by the trees and turn left. Private and once you enter it opens up into a fantastic play area full of sensory exploration for kids - there are big xylophones drums etc. loved it and ofcourse slides and swings for kids

Smaller sized ramps are perfect for little children.

The Sensory Garden is a cute little playground. I made a day trip out to see it due to high reviews. Followed the advice on having a picnic etc. I had an 8 year old, 5 year old, and one year old with me. From reviews I was expecting large parks and a fairly large trail that you could walk around. With a tag line of "play for all" I thought it would have things for multiple ages of children. I had high hopes. It was tucked away. You enter and go thru a massive sign. You cross a bridge! Still had high hopes! But if you want an honest review, all these bells and whistles in the beginning lead up to a pretty meh experience. It's a small park made for small children. Think toddlers and smaller. Slides that aren't super tall. The 5 year old in my party was borderline too old for it. 1 year old loved it. It filled up fairly fast with moms and babies and got crowded fairly early on in the morning. The park itself has two baby seat swings. No swings for older children. A few cool structures that you can pose by. Climbing is discouraged. A few big art pieces the kids can drum on. Some dirt to dig in, 3 or 4 shovels provided by the park to use. Listen, it's cute and quaint. But it most definitely isn't a playground for all children. The 5 and 8 year old were bored after 20 minutes. We walked the small trail next to the play area. I thought we would find more structures or something. We didn't. It was a basic trail with work out structures built for adults that want to do arm walks and pull ups. The kids area ended with the little park. We tried to have a picnic but the couple of benches available were filled with mom groups etc so we didn't eat there like we planned. My final take was -- if you live close by (and have a baby-4 year old with energy to spare) it may be worth a trip. Get there early. Don't make a special trip out for it -- it doesn't live up to the hype.

What a great park. I never even knew it was there. Thanks Yelp for helping me find out about it. Loved the musical area the pipes have the beautiful sounds with vibration too. We walked around the beautiful trails. Definitely going back when it's a little cooler and walking down all the trails and see where we end up at. Beautiful walking through all the trees and foliage not to mention all of a sudden there would be a big section of wild flowers. Ran into a area with huge open grass areas recommend anyone with little ones To make a trip over there. And it's free and not just your typical playground park.

This is such a great place for kids. Fun poles, xylophones, and intricate sculptures made of every day things. It definitely is super appealing to the senses. I enjoy walking down the workout trails too- they are surprisingly extensive and underutilized. We take our kiddo down the trail and let him wander around. There are fields and lots of space to roam away from the park. It's a one of a kind place!

This experience is by far BEYOND my expectations as far as the planning, implementation, and final product! I took my son to this playground and boy-o-boy were we in for a treat! There was amble parking, beautifully manicured flower beds, grass, and trails. The enternece was breathtaking AND interactive! While the final product is not complete, the sensory garden was and it was a hoot! I have included photos for you to see! A couple of pointers... 1. This gem is nestled behind Navastar and was a bit hard to find. Look for the small parking signs with arrows though and you'll be just fine. 2. There was a port-o-potty, but I did not see permanent washrooms (they could exist, I just didn't see them). 3. Bring a picnic! So many benches and open area, it was a blast having breakfast there!!

This place is located in a really random place at first it was hard to find but once we did parking was plenty and what a great park! My daughter 1.5 years loved exploring everything...will look forward to the expansion! The art work/sculptures throughly is also interesting to look at, the music spot is fun too! We took a nice little walk on the trails after we had some fun in the park itself. Don't hesitate to check it out with your little ones!

The playground part of it is quite small I think for the amount of space they have to work with. It's cute and the interaction part of it is nice, but I think the walking trails were much cooler. We will most likely be back to enjoy this location if were in the area again. Thank you!

Zebra statue out of recycled metal at the parking lot. Loved interacting with the instruments attached to it

Very cute park. I like how it's tucked away and not super close to a parking lot. My Littles are less likely to run to the car. It's a little hard to find because of this as well. Loved the entrance to the park with all the art made of recycled material. The kids enjoyed seeing what everything was actually made of. It's not very shaded so the equipment does get hot. The kids like the differce in the design.

Awesome entrance

Very clean, look like they blew away the cicadas:). My kids loved. Just wish the swing line wasn't always so busy.

A hidden gem! Cannot wait to see the finished product, but still plenty to do for toddlers.

It's cute and the interaction part of it is nice, but I think the walking trails were much cooler.

We stopped here whilst waiting for our pizza order to be done. It was just alright; I was rather…read moredisappointed. There are two sections to the park, with the big rocket being the centerpiece. It's huge, multiple levels. There are at least three slides coming out from it. Lots of places for kids to climb and scurry and jump. But that part was too big for my kiddo so we went to the smaller section a few steps away. There was a structure to climb, several slides, some bars, and then even a little further away a bunch of swings. I tried to keep her from seeing the swings, to be honest, since I didn't want to have to deal with an upset kiddo when we had to leave without enough swing time. She played around a bit but didn't seem as interested in the playground. We went down a slide or two, but some of them had standing water since it has been a bit rainy recently. The playground isn't technically fenced in, but it is effectively so because it's behind the practice courts which are all fenced in. It'd be hard for your kid to get away from you. There's a parking lot for the Norridge Park District building but the neighborhood parking could be tricky, especially in the summer because there is restricted parking from Memorial Day to Labor Day (ostensibly because of the large pool structure that would keep the residents from having any parking for three months otherwise). The terrain of the park is wood chips and soil, decidedly not my favorite (maybe especially after a rain) and she got dirty pretty quick. I may bring her back when she's old enough to play on the rocket ship, but this won't be a park that we return to much if ever.

A mom-of-two's (a toddler and preschooler) straight-forward review -…read more I am uncertain of the official name. It seems like the two names, Oakbrook Terrace and Heritage Park, are used interchangeably. Nonetheless, this was a random discovery when I was browsing Google Maps for playgrounds to check out and it is a definite keeper! The park is quietly tucked within a neighborhood. So far we have visited twice in the morning and there were very little people to share the space with. Although I would like the social factor and enjoy the bustle with running and laughing children, but the quietness is particularly beneficial to my firstborn's short attention span. It allows her to stay focused on her tennis lessons with her daddy. The tennis courts are well maintained and within walking distance of the playground. It is easy for us to toggle between the two. The playground appears to be recently renovated. There is a small section for toddlers and larger section for older kids. The space is well divided so the younger children can stay in their area without feeling intimidated. The flooring for both sections is a mix with some parts having wood chips and others having rubber. The rubbery ground is a uphill and down slope climb and it was a great way for my girls to run up and down to expense their endless energy. Otherwise, there is also the typical playground equipment such as slides, climbing ropes, ladders and spirals, and monkey bars. Side note - This playground is incredibly close to Frankie's Deli which is a favorite of ours!
