There were many toys that made noises, rocking horses, a large green dome with holes, and a smaller playground with slides. They are still fundraising to build a playground for children 5-12 years old. Once that playground is built I'm sure it will be even more of a hit for families. That said there are features that the 5-12 year olds will like! Two large slides, an obstacle to climb on, and a glider swing. There are also several walking trails. My son loved this park! The playground and tennis courts are merely separated by a parking lot therefore it is easy to transition between the two. Our four year old has begun taking tennis lessons from her daddy and we usually do not have to wait for an opening in the morning. There are four tennis courts and they are well maintained. Our 2.5 year old does not share the same interest as her sister and her attention span is relatively short. So after participating in a few drills and playing ball girl, she would request to go to the playground. The playground has a rubberized surfacing with several climbing structures, four slides, a swaying boat, and swing set. The playground does not get overly crowded and there are plenty to keep our girls entertained. There is a sheltered section that's great for families to hang out when it gets overly hot. There is one small con though - the only bathroom is a porta potty by the parking lot. Fortunately we have yet to make use of it and I hope it stays that way.

I did however love that it was sunken away from the parking lot and had a bike/scooter trail around the perimeter and a few benches on the pathway along with a shaded gazebo with seating for a lunch break. Overall it's adorable and if my kids were smaller it'd be on regular rotation. I love that it's here for the new mamas & daddies but it likely won't be the best fit for our family to often frequent. This playground is made for all ages. The park district usually has a few picnic table next to the playground. There is a pavilion with more picnic tables within walking distance. There are no public restrooms but there is a port a pot across the parking lot. You can use the restrooms at the sea lion aquatic park if you're there after 4pm. Across from the park/ aquatic area...you will find a large lake with a walking path. This is the perfect area to go for a long walk. Overall-- kids love this playground and adults love the walking path on a beautiful day!!

The sea lion pool is right behind the park so it's a great place to spend the day!! We usually come to the park and pack a lunch so that we can hangout for a while. There are picnic tables but we usually just bring a blanket and sit in the shaded areas. The only downside to this play area is that there is no regular bathroom. Luckily there are baseball fields close by so there are Porta Pottys at least. During the summer time, the park district hosts fun concerts, it's called the totally Tuesday events. Just watch for all the campers, it can get crowded!!

In the heart of Wheaton in a quiet residential area, this is a terrific playground for all ages (even Grandpa's!) Large sand area and several different play areas with challenges for kids of all ages. They have a nice picnic area and a huge field if you wanted to play soccer, kickball, frisbee, etc. they also have a bike trail or sidewalk that goes all the way around the park so you can bike ride around or bring scooters. You can spend 10 mins here or several hours here. There's usually other kids (almost always) here that have always been super friendly and its never been too packed where it's not fun. I think this park has almost everything (besides a zip line) that you would want at a park! I'll be back here, as usually!

This is an…read moreinclusive playground with ramps that are double wide so friends in wheelchairs and without can travel around the park together. This playground has a vast variety of equipment. A few examples are various slides, climbing ropes, rock climbing walls, and ball pits. There is bound to be something for toddlers and older children to enjoy. Most importantly, they have their own areas. Note - The school said it is preferred that the community does not use the playground during school hours because various grades have recess throughout the day, but their school day ends at 2:55pm.

They are disturbingly easy to please is what I'm saying, so I'll just tell you what I like about this park. There's a small parking lot. The park itself is set away from the street and parking lot. There's a relatively clean porta potty. There's plenty of shady areas including a shelter with some picnic tables. There's also a tennis court and a baseball diamond. Cool, fine, I'm just glad my kids enjoy themselves. What I REALLY like about this park is that it's got a four square AND hopscotch court. So whenever we go there I can be ready to school anyone who steps to me. 'Cause I keep my hopscotch game on point y'all!
