Allison was very flexible and accommodating with our needs, working with my son's schedule and his last minute requests to meet to review his drafts. She guided him on how to organize the essay but fully respected and supported the topics he wanted to write about, which I think made for well written and authentic essays to really reveal who my son is. In this last unprecedented college application year where SAT and ACT tests weren't even considered at most schools, essays became that much more important. And with higher than average numbers of applicants, I really think my non-writing son's essays really were what made the difference in him getting accepted to many of the schools he applied to including UCLA where he will go this fall. Thank you Allison for the guidance!

As a professional that works with young people and their parents, she managed to be able to relate to all of us and in every interaction she was smart, kind and resourceful. Jennifer also went beyond our family and helped another young man. Both boys are starting their Senior years at college and we can't thank her enough. It is rare to meet someone like Jennifer who is so competent, calm and helps clarify the process. Highly recommend!

Jennifer MacLure has created a top-notch program and takes what can be a daunting, soul-crushing and overwhelming experience and makes it doable and successful for her clients. From the first meeting where she shares an organization system for the student to manage the many details and paperwork involved in the process to the on-going meetings where the counselor provides structure for the student to successfully complete each step - every aspect is well-thought out and purposeful. Stress and emotions were well managed by having on-going support, realistic timelines and creating a balanced list of schools that felt like a potential fit. I also appreciated the google spreadsheet that kept track of every school that she was considering, the cost, acceptance rate, and several other pertinent details - it was a great snapshot of the process. One more component that I feel was essential - our daughter was responsible for taking ownership in her process - the structure allowed her to stay on track, but she was responsible for making it all happen (a skill she will need in college and life)! While Jennifer is the founder of My Pathway to College and she does see clients, she was full when we signed up. My daughter had the pleasure of working directly with Emily Desmond who was fantastic - her warmth and support was a great fit. I would highly recommend any of Jennifer's team - she has several counselors who work with her.

He is excelling in all of his classes (including the one's he was sure he couldn't do, like 2nd year Spanish) and just finished up his Sophomore year with straight A's and awards for his school spirit, leadership, and consistent high level of effort in all of his classes. I was blown away with the glowing description these teachers had for my son's academic performance. And to top all of that, when all of the schools got locked down due to the COVID 19 pandemic, High Bluff Academy took on the challenge QUICKLY to move to online the very next week, maintaining the rigorous academics and supportive environment you would expect and hope for. My son is very happy, feels safe, enjoys his friends at school, and especially likes the relationship he has with his teachers. As a parent, I can highly recommend this college prep school with absolutely no reservation.

Our daughter will be going into her third year at HBA, and she's done extremely well the past two years. Her GPA has been 4.0 and 4.2, and her teachers and the administration have all taken an active interest in her success and well being. We're very thankful we found a place where she can excel.

When it became time to submit CRF's in 8th grade (for 9th grade) I was confused and a bit overwhelmed. Debra was incredible with my son. She spoke directly to him the whole time and helped guide him to what was available and in his best interest. Fast forward to a year later it was time to submit CRF's again for 10th grade, we had another like meeting and made necessary adjustments based on things that had changed for my son. Debra was available for questions throughout the year if something came up that we needed clarity on. It will be the best money you every spend. My son just wants to keep his options open and so having this guidance early on is truly priceless. It was so affordable for these initial consults I don't know why anyone would NOT do it. To the person that reviewed this company with 1 star. I can only imagine you had been calling the wrong number. In just a month they were able to do an incredible common app essay and over 10 supplemental essays for all the EAs my son was sending out. In short 2 months my son was able to submit around 40 supplemental essays to various top 20 Engineering schools. Greg provided an amazing structure, accountability and results. It made the process so much easier and stress free, not only for my son, but also for us, the parents.
