Allison was a life saver for my son! Let into the game of the college application process last fall we agreed as a family that my math/science son would benefit from some support in writing his college essays. Allison was very flexible and accommodating with our needs, working with my son's schedule and his last minute requests to meet to review his drafts. Before working with Allison, anytime I thought about the college application process I was filled with questions and anxiety. Fortunately, I started working with her in the middle of my daughter junior year, and it was obvious right away that she knew what she was doing. With his help, my daughter Ana spend the summer before my senior year at talking college film classes at Syracuse University and Arizona State University. This experience was vital to her decision to go pre-med, and it would not have been possible without her. As for college applications, Allison help was truly invaluable. We started in the beginning of August and met every single week until I got my ED acceptance letter. Allison always found a way to improve Ana's writing, even if it was as simple as changing one word. Anytime She had a question, she had an answer, and she helped Ana showcase the best version of her. Applying to Film was not what we where expecting, it was overwhelming with portfolio, additional essay's it was incredibly stressful for Ana and Allison was a game changer and guide her all the time. Unfortunately, I learned of Ms. Henderson's services too late for a comprehensive overview, however she was able to accommodate me at the last minute. Our telephone conference consisted of analyzing finer points of college applications. I was able to email spreadsheets that Ms. Henderson and I reviewed together. Ms. Henderson's advice and expertise proved to be invaluable. We had originally planned to submit ACT scores for only one date, but she explained why, in our particular case, it made sense to submit two. She also explained why it would not make sense to submit certain AP and SATII scores. Ms. Henderson also brought to my attention an online resource, Naviance, that I wasn't previously aware of. My only regret is that we weren't able to work together far earlier - freshman or sophomore year. Had this been possible, we would have been able to develop a more professional overall comprehensive game plan, in terms of pre-application curriculum, ACT/SAT/SATII/AP test taking schedules, and college selection. I'm sure this would have increased our chances of being accepted to the best schools. In addition to being very professional, Ms. Henderson also has a pleasant, easy-going personality, which enables her to get along very well with both adults and teenagers. I am likely not the typical reviewers as it relates to A+ College Consultants. I am 27, a successful executive in a hotel based REIT (investment group), and a college dropout. I ended (or paused) my educational career at 20 to have my daughter and became the sole provider for our future family. Growing quickly through the ranks of hotel operations, I found myself within three years in a role within senior leadership. It wasn't until I joined the ownership and Asset Management side that I hit a proverbial glass ceiling. As I am listed on the website, when investors look to invest in our firm, they look through our bio's. My college experience, or lack there of, can and would be viewed as a deterrent. Ms. Henderson was very useful for my son who is a Junior this year and will be applying for colleges come fall. We had already explored colleges in our state but she provided us with some out of state options to apply to that may be appropriate for the major he was looking into. Also she suggested ones that may also give scholarships for out of state schools that would make the tuition equal to in state ones. She also advised us about perhaps applying as a strong Math major..plus other like majors.. thus improving our chances for acceptance. She also suggested to took further beyond college as to where it may be beneficial to get internships for summers to come.
