I spoke to Mike on the phone and he was super friendly and great to work with! My husband and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on a group tour sunset sail. Mike happened to also be our captain and was fantastic! We learned a lot about sailing, the bay, and Newport in general. It was a great time! You can even bring your own snacks and byob if you'd like. Cannot wait to do this again! Skip the touristy sails and do this one- so worth it!! We ended up rescheduling to Sunday at 2:30pm, because we couldn't do sunset and he was very accommodating to our timing needs. He even had the other couple that was supposed to be on our original tour for a group tour to another time so we could have a private tour even though we booked the group tour. We told him were interested in learning how to sail so he was teaching us how to steer and some of the lingo. The tour itself was spectacular. He took us past castle hill inn and showed us some of the most popular spots and gave us some history of the area. We had the best time and it was the highlight of our trip. The staff at the Jailhouse Inn (definitely recommend) suggested we go down Thames to see if we could catch a last minute harbor cruise. We found the Amazing Grace booth and fortunately they had one more cruise going out that had space available. It was the most affordable harbor cruise we have had! The staff was great with a lot of knowledge of the area and the 1-hr cruise was perfect. And the picturesque view kept our teen engaged the whole cruise!
