I've always thought "this is Oak Park (land of money), WHY does this place look like the bus station from Total Recall?" Then I put 2 and 2 together: end-of-the-line stop.....conductor kicks all the hobos off the train......hobos take up residency on benches. Well, that explains the distinctive hobo smell. But what about the badly-crumbling stairs going up and down? There really is no excuse for that. Commuter safety concern, hello! Oh, and the two Ventra ticket-issuing machines are MAJOR finicky when it comes to swiping your plastic. Way too many times I've stood there for what feels like an hour, desperately trying to complete a credit/debit card transaction, and getting rejected 80% of the time. Sure, I could carry cash and avoid the problem altogether, but that's not how I roll. I thrive on making things more difficult than they need to be. The convenience mart on the ground level is halfway decent and staffed by some friendly folks. Other than that, this 'L' station is the pits. Blecch.

Eating cheep and getting their greasy fingers on everything - hence the reason I try and touch NOTHING with my bare hands on the train. They listen to their "SAIL" phones on speaker so the world has to hear both sides of a pointless and annoying conversation. Mostly grunting - few actual words. Then they start FACE TIMING - as if a cell phone could not get more annoying, someone had to invent this crap! Then there are those who feel compelled to smoke weed on the train. Leaving that CRAPPY SKUNK stank to linger. Pot USED TO SMELL GOOD, NOW IT SMELLS LIKE CRAP!! I despise the passenger, but the employees do a pretty good job!

A Good Samaritan helped me with my bags up the stairs. Watch the monitors. The train was a couple of minutes early. Tap your card. It was just $2.50 per person and the orange line goes directly to Midway. This is the last stop on the line. Plus, we got there at least 15 minutes earlier than the UBER/Lyft ETA. There is Hope. Interesting to see the suicide & crisis lifeline information at the station. Call, chat or text 988 if you need help. A shocking murder-suicide in Houston earlier this week, this sign really made me think. On this Mother's Day, hug your mom, your children, your grandparents a little tighter.

Via the green line, I was able to commute to this station from the west-side of the city. An efficient station that will connect you to sights within downtown Chicago like Grant Park, The Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium Park, and even the Historic Route 66 Begin Sign; the iconic Historic Route 66 Begin Sign which is located downstairs of this elevated platform. At this station you can also transfer to other lines like green, pink, purple, orange, and brown. Opened by Lake Street Elevated Railroad in 1896 before being incorporated into Charles Yerkes's Union Loop in October 1897. From back then to now, the station has had its share of renovations and makeovers. It is well-maintained, yet with some clear signs of cracked paint and rust on its interior frame. And I also could not ignore the faded out social distancing signs which will forever remind us of covid-19 in the years to come. I have to say that my visits to-and-from CTA - Adams/Wabash have been very pleasant, thankfully! And with that, it makes me very open to making it part of my commutes into downtown Chicago. ~Keep it simple. ~ Thomas G

Gotta say, I've flown through O'Hare twice and this second time was actually pleasantly surprising…read more-- despite how big the airport is, the efficiency is pretty good! It took me almost no time to check in and get through security then get to my gate because the signage is posted up well. There are several food courts throughout the place too so it's easy to find a place to eat. I really had no trouble, and the bathrooms were fairly clean too. Compared to some other big/hub airports that really have a lot of issues (e.g. the Vegas Airport), O'Hare is actually doing a pretty good job.

I thought I could get some pics of the #94 and also the #49 Western buses to put on their Yelp Business Pages. The only pictures that I took that looked pretty good, turned out to be for the X49, so I felt compelled to open a business page, write this review, and, of course, post my pics. . I found out this X49 bus runs on weekdays during rush hours. The #49 Western makes all of the usual stops between 79th St on the south side and Berwyn Avenue on the north side. The X49 Western Express only stops at the main intersections, so you should be able to save some time on this bus - - if your stop is a main intersection. Since I have not personally experienced riding this bus, I feel 3 stars is an appropriate rating - - sure does sound like a time saver, if the stops fit your needs. CTA Review #6
