I went on Yelp to find a seamstress. I came across Ella Pritsker Couture and I am so happy I did. We spoke on the phone and she was able to have me come in the same day. I brought in my dress and told her what I envisioned the dress. The dress turned out even better than I had envisioned! Ella's attention to detail and craftsmanship of the dress was beyond my best expectations. She created a beautiful silk dress and used the lace from the bottom of my dress along with some of buttons from the back. Even as a completely new dress, I could tell the dress came from my wedding dress (which actually made me tear up with happy tears). We received so many compliments on the dress. The dress truly added to an already amazingly joyful day. Additionally, the structure of my wedding dress is still intact and Ella advised that i can always add fabric back to the bottom of the dress if i wanted to (for example, to use for a vow renewal ceremony). I know I will come back to Ella for that and any future needs. She is extremely professional and her craftsmanship is exceptional, bar none.

No dry cleaner or in-store alteration places can match the talents of this experienced couple. They're old-school trained from Korea where they used to make modern and traditional suits and dresses for their customers. I've taken clothes in regularly for simple hems, long coats shortened for the latest styles, short coats lengthened with complimentary materials, shoulders taken in, leathers, silks, high-end designer clothes a couple sizes too big from Nordstrom rack where prices were too good to pass up... You should know that taking in a too-big waist doesn't end at the waist band. The butt needs to be pulled in. The crotch needs to be pulled up. The legs need to be sized proportionally. They will deconstruct and reconstruct the entire garment to custom fit your body. Very clean, neat work. No threads hanging off, stitching always matches the original. Same day service is offered if requested for simple services. When I lived in Fallston and Philadelphia, I still came back to them for my alterations. When I lived in Chicago, I stocked up and brought my alterations back when I came to visit my family in MD. That's how good they are. Their shop may be easily missed. I do not possess the specific tools to pierce the thick nylon fabric, so I knew this was likely a task for a tailor and shoe repair service. They told me that I could bring the collar in for them to determine if they could do the job. I was helped immediately and they recommended that I go to Joann Fabric to purchase rivets for the dog tag. They were able to assist on the spot without an appointment, and they were so careful in the placement of the tag, as not to cause any discomfort to my dog while he's wearing it. This was a fantastic experience and I'll be sure to return in the future for any other tailoring and shoe repair needs!
