House vents completed

This was way easier than I expected. Rep visited and let me know what should be done. I got the price that night. Negotiated it a bit and signed the contract. They came by today when I was playing golf and finished the project. Now I have hardened my house against wildfires with vent protection and a sprinkler system on my roof. They match the paint on your house as well, which is great. I feel good recommending Brandguard.

Under eave vents

Brandguard vents installed gable vents and under eave vents to make our house fire safe. They kept us informed from start to finish. The installation technician did an excellent job and cleaned up after the install. I would highly recommend them if you want a great product and outstanding customer service. Thank you Brandguard.

I heard a construction expert on talk radio mention that most of the houses that survived recent California wildfires, in a certain area, had this brand and type of vents. I contacted Brandguard and service was excellent from that point on. I had to wait a bit for installation, but staff kept in touch and the installation occurred on the agreed date and time. The Brandguard vent installation is one of several home fire protection steps taken recently. These vents are essential!

BrandGuard Vents

As a lifelong resident of Southern California and a retired firefighter of over 36 years in the San Diego city area, I experienced and lived through the devastating 2003 and 2007 wildfires here locally. During those two fires, I personally experienced how embers from the fire, travel in the air and impact homes and buildings through via the attic/gable vents. I observed while we were fighting fire at a Rancho Bernardo condominium complex as embers traveled through the air, and went through the attic vents and started the condominium building on fire.. After I saw that, I vowed that I would protect my home with some sort of gable vent that would prevent that from happening at my home. (Once embers get into the attic and start to burn, it is very difficult to stop that fire from spreading). I worked very closely with BrandGuard Vents located in Lake Forest, California, they did a great job and installed gable vent and soffit vents throughout my home for fire protection. Two of my neighbors across the street have used BrandGuard Vents and are very protected and happy as I am as well. I experienced great service and as you can see in the pictures, the vents that were installed are excellent and blend in with my home! Believe it or not I also received a discount from my insurance company, Travelers.

My home was eligible for a grant to replace existing vents with ember-resistant vents. Brandguard was one of the recommended companies and I believe the only one that offered to handle all of the county permit paperwork. I had them come out for an estimate. It was about double what the grant would cover, but they quickly offered to split the work in half, to do some now & the rest next year if the grant was still in effect. I an't speak to the efficacy of the vents (and hope I never can, since that would mean fire had reached my house), but the new vents are certainly very aesthetically pleasing. Happy so far, and in particular, every e-mail question I sent to them was answered promptly.

I recently had my home attic vents replaced with Brandguard vents. The Brandguard vents are patented and are designed to prevent wild fire embers from entering the attic. A friend of mine is involved with local fire fighters and told me these vents are top of the line, and excellent design. Because I live in a wild fire area, which is considered to be a higher risk area, I decided to add additional wild fire protection to my home. Although my home has a sprinkler system installed through out the house, including the attic, the installation of these vents adds a significant layer of protect for my home. My existing vents were removed and replace with Brandguard vents by All Risk Shield. The removal and installation of the Brandguard vents went well, but there was a small issue. All Risk Shield immediately addressed my issues and resolve the problem.

12"Wx22"H Round top Gable Vent (12"x16" square, 12"x6" round top), 1" top & side flange, 1.5"bottom flange, 26ga, G90 Galv 1/8" mesh

We live in the Wildland Urban Interface and are in a Class 9-10 fire zone. It is imperative that our home be protected as much as possible from blowing embers as they reportedly can travel up to a mile. In 2019, California State Assembly Bill 38 revised Chapter 7A of the California Building Code to resist building ignition from intrusion of burning embers and flame through ventilation openings. Whether you approve of increased government regulation or not, having lost our home in the 2003 Cedar Fire, I can personally attest to the horror faced by fire survivors in battling their insurance companies, the County of San Diego Planning and Development Services, and contractors in the effort to rebuild. Therefore, I highly recommend that all available fire protection measures be taken. Brandguard Vents was willing to work with us to install the needed fire protection vents in a way that met our budget and for that we are thankful. Tammi was super helpful and sweet. Additionally, Bill, the installer was super quick and tidy in his installation of the vents.

Two Brandguard vents for garage

We used Brandguard Vents along with the SDGE grant program, Brandguard knows the in and out of this grant program which made it very easy to get through the process. They even pull the SD County building permit. The crew was prompt, professional and clean. They brought a portable spray unit to spray the vents the same color as the house, first class, not brush painted. The office staff was excellent with their involvement and notifications to us. The vents are very well designed and made of commercial grade metals. This will equal a life time of use. I've recommended others to Brandguard for all of the above mentions reasons. They are a first class, professional group from top to bottom. If you want an excellent product, exceptional installation and ease of grant paper work I highly recommend this company. Thanks Brandguard and T & T construction.

I…read moreinitially spoke with Danny over the phone regarding residential fire sprinkler work at my home, and he was incredibly informative, kind, and professional. He took the time to provide thoughtful feedback and guidance, and even offered to FaceTime with me so I could walk him through the scope of work. That alone gave me a lot of confidence. Danny put my mind at ease knowing the work--simply capping off a fire sprinkler--would be handled correctly, safely, and fully up to code by a licensed professional. Scheduling was seamless, and they were able to send a technician out first thing the very next morning at 7:00 AM. Erik, the service technician, arrived right on time and was equally professional and knowledgeable. He assessed the situation, confirmed what needed to be done, clearly explained the process and timeline, and got right to work. His work was quick, efficient, and clean, and he was someone I felt completely comfortable having in my home. I would absolutely use American Fire Protection Systems again for any future fire sprinkler needs and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a company that values professionalism, competency, efficiency, and outstanding customer service.

I highly recommend American Fire Protection Systems. When I had a pipe leak that turned out to be…read morethe sprinkler system pipe, they were the only ones who knew how to shut the water off. Golden State Water didn't call back until hours and hours after I reported a water leak emergency, and the regular plumber who came out (while a really excellent person) unfortunately didn't have the licensing or training on how to solve this. The team at AFPS hopped on a FaceTime call with me and talked me through locating and shutting off the water and open the drain valve to prevent further water damage. Afterwards, they were able to come out and fix the specialized pipe. Their price was reasonable, they had a positive attitude throughout, and even identified a problem with the build where it looks like the builder didn't put a nail plate in the stud to protect the pipe. They installed a nail plate at no added cost at their own expense. Overall, they solved what was a quickly growing disaster and I am very grateful for their support. Also, although I'm leaving a glowing review--they never asked for a review. They didn't offer freebies of any kind for a review like I've seen with some other businesses. These guys are the real deal and they'd be the first ones I'd call if I ever had a similar issue in the future. Thanks for your help, AFPS!
