Do not use this company. Very unprofessional. Did not bring a mask when I asked (I called ahead twice). Banging around my closets. Opened a cap to a sprinkler without asking causing dust to fall on my yarn. Nearly wrote up my sprinkler as defective when it wasnt. If i didnt question it, it would have caused additional inconvenience to me. The manager told me that the techs do not tell the homeowners their assessment. I have every right to know what the fuck is going on with my home when someone enters to inspect.Told my hoa to go with someone else. Hopefully they listen. read more

First off, I couldn't find any other company who sells the fire extinguisher cases when I was completing my TI on my store. I found OCFP and was please at their selection of cases, and reasonable prices. Now they are my go-to for my yearly service, also very reasonable. I bought a house in 2011 that had fire sprinkler heads throughout and I always wondered what condition the entire system was in. I called OC Fire Protection and they sent an inspector to take a look. They noted that the system was active/working, but that all of my sprinklers (except in a mechanical room) were recalled. They provided a quote for replacement of all of the heads and gave me two options (white or chrome). It took a little over a day to replace all of them (45 heads in all) but they provided a completed and signed inspection report for the system to show it had been inspected and the necessary repairs had been made. I also purchased the spare head box which they mounted in my garage that contains extra sprinklers and the installation wrenches (six extra sprinklers, two of each type installed in the system). Jered was great to work with, responded quickly, I felt the quote was reasonable for the work performed, and as far as I know they did not have to do any sheet rock work in order to replace any of the heads. Half due up front, balance upon completion. When they came separately to install the spare head box, they called when they would be in the area on another job, and they just swung by and installed in my garage. Easy. I would definitely recommend them to any home owner looking to have their system inspected or repaired. read more

My wife has an in-home daycare and recently we discharged our fire extinguisher by accident putting out a small grease fire. Most extinguishers need recharged if used even slightly. I called and OC Fire Protection gave me prices over the phone which were super reasonable. I walked into the service counter and met Dan who was super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. He recharged my extinguisher within 10 minutes and off I was. They even re-certified the unit. What's really cool is they have a viewing window in their showroom, so you can see the unit get worked on and refilled. We are in escrow and used OC Fire Protection to repair a descended fire sprinkler and a 5 year inspection on the system. They were prompt in returning calls and scheduling repairs and also in turning around our inspection report. My one critique is the 3 hour minimum for repair. Our repair was definitely not a 3 hour job - so I feel like we overpaid. But I still gave 5 stars because we were in a rush and they got the job done quickly and efficiently. read more

If you only have one or two extinguisher, it makes sense if you are close to bring your extinguisher here to get tested. They answered immediately, and then immediately got a crew to come to our house on Thursday at 4:30 on a holiday Friday weekend, and help with our emergency water leak in our home fire sprinkler system. Both guys were personal and competent, and easily repaired our leak, and stayed for another 90 minutes to make sure the pipe repair was secure. read more

The company I work for has Orange County Fire Protection service our fire extinguishers annually, as per the law. I am their contact here at our office. They have been nothing but nice, fair and honest with us about the tests needed or replacements needed. Scott is the tech that usually comes to our office and he is very quiet, quick and sweet. There have been a few times where a particular test (yes, there are different kinds you have to do) was needed and he let me know it really was just cheaper to buy a new one since ours were so old. The next year, on a different extinguisher, it was cheaper to do the test so we did it that way. They even send out reminder cards before the test is going to expire and I just call them up and say they can drop by whenever. The business next to us needed their extinguishers serviced too but they have never used OCFP. Scott went and spoke to them and because he was able to do both of ours at the same time, he cut our service call fee in half and we were able to share the cost. As I said, they are fair and worthy of your business. Since it's the law, your business is going to have to pay someone to do the testing, at least this company makes it easy and affordable. I would never switch, they are the best! read more

Some time ago I did a TI in Anaheim, CA. After my inspection by the FD the building owners fire sprinkler company (OCFP) did their 5 year inspection. They said my work was in violation of the sprinkler code. It wasn't so I asked to see this code which the person of course couldn't find. Neither could the fire department. Now the owner of the building wouldn't pay my General until this work was "corrected" so the General and myself had to pay OCFP to do this fallacious work or the owner would not pay the General even though I showed the owner the code book. Building owners beware that if you are dealing with OCFP you better know sprinkler code. Now I should clarify. The above was done by their field guy and may not be the policy of the owner. My guess is it is not the owners policy as it would over time cause them to lose business. The last is just opinion whereas the prior is not. read more
