I'm very active, 65 year old, and walk/run 2-5 miles of forest service roads daily with my k9 kids. Retirement hobby showing my Alaskan Malamute as well as mushing and skijoring with him really became dangerous for me, I was falling when my knee would "give out". Following years of abuse, my cruciate ligament was completely torn and I had lost the stability I needed to safely walk or show my dogs. I had been working out several times weekly at a gym to build strength in my legs knowing it would help with stability. As soon as I met Dr Beamer, I knew he was the one to help me. He knew I was athletic and was going to push get back to 100% quickly. He understood my issues and suggested cruciate replacement. Surgery was easy for me. Staff was very friendly, made sure all questions were answered and I was comfortable. My recovery was hard work, but with Dr Beamers guidance and a very strict physical therapy program he outlined for me I exceeded even my own expectations. I worked at flexibility and strengthing during PT and took those excercises to the gym between visits. I worked really hard and pushed as much as Dr Beamer would let me. He followed my recovery closely and offered guidence to help me meet my goals. Been less than 8 months and I've been able squat my own weight of 170 lbs at the gym. Leg presses are back to normal as well. Still taking it easy on the long distance runs but a mile is easy. I recently was able to return to the dog show ring with my Malamute, my movement in the ring had been one of the most difficult for me due to turning moves required. I had stopped showing prior to my surgery, concerned i would lose stability and fall. This April in Sacramento I had no issues with my movement and we took Best of Breed. I'm a 60 year old moderate risk surgery patient that needed a total hip replacement. My primary care physician referred me to two highly rated Sacramento orthopedic surgeons, and they promptly declined to see me. One surgeon was too backed up with patients, and one didn't accept my insurance. Anyway, my neighbor suggested I talk to the new orthopedic surgeon in town, Dr. Brandon Beamer. He enthusiastically and patiently answered ALL of my questions regarding my medical issues, as well as questions about his training and experience. He walked me through the whole procedure, which was great since I like to know all the details. I was hoping to be able to have the direct anterior total hip replacement, since they don't have to cut your muscles and there is less chance of dislocation (compared to the posterior surgery). Dr. Beamer uses fluoroscopic imaging during the surgery to get just the right placement and minimize leg length inequality. Well, here I am 6 weeks post surgery and I couldn't be happier. Very successful surgery, no serious complications or infections. No hip movement restrictions, and no staples (Dr. Beamer uses a nice flexible glue.) I had great pain control in the hospital. (My roommate needed something stronger, but her doctor didn't help her until the next day). Dr Beamer checked on me both mornings I was in the hospital and called me at home as well. He is very concerned about preventing blood clots and takes every precaution to make sure it doesn't happen. My physical therapist says I have progressed further than a lot of the patients he sees after traditional posterior hip replacement surgery. I saw Dr. Beamer in late 2016 after a previous shoulder surgery was re-Injured after getting hit by a car. My original surgeon wouldn't see me and found it difficult to find an orthopedic surgeon that would either see me or felt comfortable picking up where a previous surgeon embarked so recently. I really struggled being in this limbo space. Not only was the staff answering the phones and scheduling accommodating and personable, my first appointment with Dr. Beamer put me at ease right away- I scheduled surgery that day. He is well versed in shoulder injuries and I felt confident in his minimally invasive approach. I can't vouch for anything outside of that region. I will say he answered any and every question I had and I did not feel minimized in my 100 questions tactics. My recovery was substantially faster than my surgery a few months prior and the highly detailed PT plan was incredible. I didn't expect PT a week after such a surgery but it is beyond helpful and makes sense in hindsight. Upon my first PT visit, they already had a copy of Dr. Beamer's PT requirements and commented on the thoroughness and protocol. He's clearly good at what he does. Dr. Beamer is outstanding, extremely competent, and truly cares about the goodwill of his patients. At 54 years of age I was faced with a hip that was degenerating quickly. Dr. Beamer showed great concern over a full hip replacement due to my age and the potential for requiring another surgery later in life if it wears out, but ultimately I felt he guided me down the right path of a full hip replacement due to the condition of the OEM hip and lack of better options. His anterior approach and skills related to replacing the hip with a relatively small incision had me back on my feet and back to work in just one week, AND back on my mountain bike riding technical trails just 2 months after the surgery. 3 months later I have absolutely no inhibitions and feel I'm completely back to life as normal before the bone-on-bone pain started keeping me from life. Had a total hip replacement a year ago & feel wonderful. I opted for the anterior surgical approach, was up walking the halls three hours after surgery, & was released the following afternoon. With minimal physical therapy & lots of walking, my recovery was rapid, & relatively pain free. Within three months I was pretty much doing what I wanted to do...not pushing myself, but continually doing a bit more each day. So glad I finally had it done, & so glad Dr. Beamer was my surgeon. He & his staff made the entire process easy & stress free & they were always available when needed. From the beginning until the present, I've had all questions/concerns explained thoroughly & I've never felt apprehensive. What a great group these folks are...cannot say enough good things about the good doctor & his staff. I left Brandon a pretty shitty review a while back in a furious rage When my surgery got canceled last minute however I must say Dr. Brandon Beamer if you have the pleasure of actually getting in with him you have one of the best ortho doctors around he's replaced my wife's hip and a ton of stuff otherwise. My review from so far back was simply an assistant not doing her job. Myself being a business owner knows best employees come and go you have your good ones and you have your bad ones and unfortunately I fell in The bad one category. I fell and broke my shsoulder so severely that rotor cuff surgery was not an option. Dr. Beamer was new to the Marshall Orthodpedics office, coming from working with the San Francisco 49ers. I was a tad worried that he would not understnd the needs and concerns of a short older woman, but he was wonderful. My surgery went well, and the shoulder sets into the cuff just right. I have recoved 80-90 percent of my range of motion in 8 months. Dr. Beamer was enthusiastic about my recovery and encouraged my rehab with a local physicala therapist. Yes, five stars for the communication and surgical skills this surgeon has developed. I'm a 65 y.o. man. I've been a carpenter/building contractor/union bridge builder since 1975. I developed carpel tunnel syndrome over those years. Dr Beamer performed the release procedure on both of my wrists over the past year.
