The last time I was here, this shop did a great job with alterations. I've been here a couple other times too but only for sleeves of shirts/jackets. Those were done well. This last visit, I brought three pairs of pants to be hemmed. From the get-go, it was a little unnerving. I was told to try one pair of pants on with the boots I brought to ensure the correct length. The woman working rushed through the fitting and told me the two other pants will be the same length and they will be ready in a week. All three pants were different lengths and they were no where near close to fitting. My inseam is on the shorter size, 23" to 24". These pants varied in alteration from 26" to 28". I returned with the pants and also with a current pair that fit me perfectly. Measurements were done and compared and the fixes were completed without additional charge and in only a few days. These pants are now hemmed to the correct length, if not a little too short, but the quality is missing. Strings are hanging and stitching is sloppy. Proper care was not taken to ensure these pants were properly tailored for me. I won't trust this place to alter pants again and will likely not return in general. read more

took a pair of exotic shark skin boots for a heal and resole. went to pick up boots and the heal was not restacked correctly made them rework it. went back the next day and the leather is ripped in the boots. they have destroyed a $400 pair of boots. took it to another shoe repair store and nothing can be done. i called credit card company to dispute the charges for the work. in the pictures you can see the fresh. two weeks prior to this had them cleaned polished. so it would have had the black polish in the ripped area if it was present before the work being done. worning stay away go to sefner shoe repair. instead. read more

Went to bring in my shoes to just fix the Taps on my heels took over 2 months to repair then I pick him up it looks like a dog chewed the heel pieces were falling off broken $700 shoes now in the garbage I told him to fix them correctly and I'll pick them up next week if it's not I'm calling an attorney I will never ever go back to this place again hopefully my shoes come out repaired next week. read more

I dropped by the other day to have a pair of Prada shoes looked at. The leather on one of my shoes was starting to wear faster than the other. Because of the brand, I was nervous I might mess them up if I tried to polish them myself. The gentleman in the back came out and took one look at it and said "I'm sorry, but I can't fix that, it's general wear on the leather, and the best thing you should do is polish it with shoe polish." He said any upper end brand of polish will work and we said our thank you's and I left. I decided to write this review because I sincerely appreciated his honesty. He could have taken my shoes and charged me up the rear end to simply polish my shoes. He didn't and declined to service them because it was the right thing to do for a potential customer. When I have a pair of shoes that need more servicing than a general polish, I will visit him again. read more

They told me to pick up my boots on Friday and they would be finished . So I got there right before 3 pm . The asian lady was more concerned about the tow truck than her customer. I could hear her in the back pounding on fixing my boots that I dropped off that Tuesday. She said they weren't ready and when I did look at them they looked like she just put super glue on some clear glue. She should of had this ready and repaired prior to me coming in. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD!!! I have been going to this shoe repair place for the last 4 years and have been giving them my business and A LOT of my money. Today I went back there because I was JUST there repairing my shoes on August 18th and guess what, what was repaired broke. "Lovely" owner's wife (the rudest human being ever) told me straight to my face that "IT IS MY PROBLEM". Are you kidding me? Is that how you treat your regular customer who has been going there at least 1-2 times per month??? I am never coming back and I would not recommend this place to ANYONE. Dropped off a pair of Sam Edelman's sandals to replace the elastic band that holds the buckle. When I picked them up, the elastics were black when the sandals were tan! I asked her why did they put black on and she said "we don't have this color, would need to order." Of course I immediately said then why didn't you tell me this when I initially dropped them off! Of course, she wouldn't care because they get payment upfront. I was so disgusted that I left, amazed that she thought that using black was acceptable! I brought in 2 pairs of shoes, I had one repaired with a new heel. The other was too expensive for me to get fixed at the moment. I picked up the other pair which cost $19.76 to replace the heels. I picked them up to my satisfaction, he even polished the heck out of them as well! I will go back to get the other pair fixed now that I have seen the workmanship. read more

Okay here it goes. The service, meh, I've had better. BUT, oh my goodness, this man is magical. I went to four different places and got the hand - my $750 shoes were basically in ruins. After a few skeptical looks, the man told me he thinks he can fix it. Let me tell you - he and I shared the same opinion. I am so thankful for this place! I brought in some black leather dress shoes that were in some really bad shape, with holes in soles and leather peeling off the back. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT go to BRANDON SHOE REPAIR!!! I have always been a supporter of this place and have recommended and sent several people there. However, today the owners have totally turned me. The owners pretty much called my mother a liar and argued with me and my mother. I am not a confrontational person, so I tried to handle the situation calmly and rationally. Both the husband and the wife were totally out of hand. Besides this incident shoes are never ready when promised, and when you do go to pick up they cannot find the shoes (totally disorganized). Upon leaving the store I told the owner I have always supported them and sent a lot of business to them and after this I will no longer do so. His response was "It doesn't matter, I don't care, we don't need it!" This was after his wife talked trash about me in Korean to her husband right in front of me. I brought my leather motorcycle racing suit in for repairs and they made it look new again. I had several crashes in the suit so it was in very bad shape when I initially brought it in. I had several tears and abrasion marks as well as deep scuffs in the leather. I'll admit I didn't think Brandon Shoe Repair could do much to improve the suits poor condition. I dropped my purse with a broken zipper off 2 weeks ago. I was told one week and it would be ready. When I went back they had not even ordered the replacement zipper and said it would be an additional week. As I showed up to pick it up today they said I would need to go to a fabric store and find my own zipper, bring it back and give them an additional week. Needless to say they demonstrate terrible customer service, as they could've said this from the beginning, gotten it themselves, or at minimum called to tell me. Not only did the shoes come back looking terrible but I wore them out and they split apart in under an hour when all I did was walk to the car in my driveway and then from a parking lot into the restaurant... and they broke at a place on the shoe where they weren't even broken before I brought them in! I'm totally unimpressed. They also didn't have one pair ready when I picked them up even though I came a full week later than I was told they'd be ready. Took my favorite boots to get a zipper replaced. I was told it would would take 4 days for $56 I love these boots and I payed it as it was going to cost more than that to replace them. When I returned 7 days later they hadn't even started them. I was told they would be ready by 4 or 5 that day. Later that same day I got a message saying I would have to wait 2 more days. When I finally got a chance to pick them up a week later the women at the counter was rude. On top of that they hadn't even bothered to clean up the boots at all. I am a native. I lived in Brandon for 40 years before moving south, still witthin driving distance, and have family up there. They say they fix luggage too, indeed they had for me in the past. I called first; the handle piece of my wheeled suitcase tore. The shore repair man said "Yes, we fix that". After driving 25 miles to get there, the female (Alterations person of the business) told me "buy another one". I asked how much it would cost to fix; again she wouldn't tell me but said to buy another one. I asked for the person who would be doing the repair on it, she refused to get him. For the third time I asked her "how much would it cost to fix"; she said "bet-ter to buy another one". The last time I checked, it was the consumer who decided how to spend their money! I asked a simple question and expectred a sinmple answer. For the fourth time I asked for a price; she wouldn't give me an answer. I left, drove 3 miles in the pouring rain, called back and asked for "the gentleman". He came on the phone and told me "it will be at least $90". I live in Ruskin, went to the Shoe Lab in Ruskin, where Shoe Lab fixed it for $30! I won't ever go back to Brandon Shoe Repair nor will I recommend them to anyone, friend or foe. I took my Cole Haan shoes in for repair & they lost them. After 3 weeks waiting for them to find them, I gave up & spent $170 for a new pair. Two weeks later they called me & said they had my shoes. Too late! & I got no compensation from Brandon Shoe Repair for this. read more

Absolutely pathetic. My shoes have more personality than the woman owner who works the front counter. I could get past that and did. On my last trip I brought in 4 pairs of sandals for heels to be replaced. Two of out the four were not well done. By that I mean that heel was not evenly shaved and my shoes were not cleaned up in the least. I then dropped off one pair for a heel replacement. When I picked them up I noticed a large black scuff mark on the heel and asked the woman about it. She looked at my shoe and said it must have come in that way. I asked if they clean it and all she said was "no". With that NO comes, NO MORE of my business. I will go out of my way and pay more rather than pay someone for poor, indifferent, take-it-or-leave-it service. read more

The first time I came to this business to get a leather purse repaired, the woman at the counter spent 10 mins on a personal phone call without acknowledging me. I left and came back on another day. I needed a zipper fixed on my purse. I had to prepay for the repair. When I came to pick it up, it still was not fixed correctly. So I left the purse and came back a few days later. Supposedly they repaired it again. The zipper is still not right. I do not recommend this business, they have shoddy workmanship, and even worse, they do not care. Was asked to return later... Told them they've had them almost a week & a half... How much longer was I supposed to wait. They finally fixed them while I waited.
