I love Brandy Melville! I'm 24 and I've always loved lots of their clothes, and I don't mind the sizing. But this review is for this specific store. The rudest, snobbiest teen girls I've ever come across in my life. Legit all of these girls would be fired in minutes if they worked anywhere else. All they do is stand around, curse their heads off, have personal conversations even over the phone while I was at the checkout. Don't even try to say thank you or hello because all you will get is a confusing look, a mumble, or be straight up ignored. Someone please get a manager up in here! read more

Brandy Melville in Westport has a great selection and we really love the clothing. But unfortunately, the in-store experience was incredibly disappointing due to the attitude and behavior of the staff. The girls working there were rude and unprofessional -- we watched them whispering, glaring, and giving judgmental looks to other customers, which was honestly shocking. How are girls like this, with such negative attitudes, still working and being paid to represent the brand? It's really not that hard to greet people when they walk in, be polite, or at the very least say "thank you" at checkout -- but they don't. They don't acknowledge customers coming in or out. The lack of basic courtesy is glaring. After reading so many other similar reviews, it seems like this is an ongoing issue, and it's disappointing that management hasn't stepped in to make a change. I was in there yesterday afternoon and it was super organized and had a lot of cute things!! The only issue I had was the cashier was really unfriendly and rude. I work in customer service, so I understand it's hard dealing with customers all day but she was very rude to myself and my mother. There was one employee that got snotty with me when I grab the bunch of tops with a heart design to show my daughter and I didn't know the size so I was looking and she said he needs it back because it's a back stock but then discovered it was in the front towards the registers. Her was uncalled for and didn't even recommend to see the floor stock. Also they closed off 1 fitting room and caused a congestion of foot traffic in the store. No one can move. Brandy Melville is a store that was very trendy among the teenage girls a few years ago. It might have gone down in popularity since. I've been to Brandy Melville a few times at different locations, each time my experience has been very underwhelming. I went to the store today while in Westport. Brandy Melville sells women's lounge wear, and tee shirts for the most part. There's also some accessories and costume jewelry. Some of the items are appropriately priced, while others are a bit overpriced. The store looks like a warehouse. There isn't any styling in the store at all. It's all items piled high on top of each other. The girls who work here have no customer service skills. They're occupied with texting and private conversations, they don't look up from their phones. I said "hi" when I walked in, no one looked at me or noticed me at all. It's almost like they're trained to be rude, I've seen this lack of greeting or acknowledgement at their other locations. Also, a lot of their items claim to be "one size fits most" when, those articles are most certainly not intended to fit most people. Someone really needs to evaluate this store and their standards of products and good customer service. read more

recently visited this so called "brandy melville" and was shocked by the low performance of the workers. I wouldn't consider myself "overweight" but apparently according to these audacious workers I am. I had picked out a few clothes and was heading to the changing rooms when a skinny little white girl exclaimed "try not to stretch out the dressing room!!" and continued to make oinking noises under her breath. I immediately turned around to walk out when another one of them came from in front of me and lassoed me with a measuring tape. I was then forced to check out and spend 300 dollars on these clothes I apparently "couldn't fit in." Do better!! This ain't texas!!!!!!! read more

Visited the store with my siblings recently and wow terrible customer service if I have ever seen it. Every worker is rude, act entitled, and take up more space than the customers. They try to look busy folding when there is close to no one there and multiple times it was customers saying "excuse me" and tip toeing around since workers get in their way and refuse to let customers move. The staff was extremely inconsiderate, unwelcoming and had the worst RBF. Even with the staff to customer ratio of 5 to 1, I had to wait for someone to ring me up at the counter for at least 6 minutes. Would never come here again with the kind of staff there. I have never experienced worse customer service, My 15 yo daughter and I went in and not a nod, hello or recognition that we were even in the store. I do know however that one of the sales girls likes Joe. They didn't ask if we needed help, how we were doing...NOTHING!! Disgusted is the first word of which comes to mind. Walking home from dinner I'm laughing with my sisters as we stop for a moment we catch ourselves outside of brandy. I was disappointed. 90% of the clothes are a size small (if they aren't one size), so there isn't much of a variety. But what really was disappointing was that there are no fitting rooms. I was told that there is a leak in the fitting rooms and that they have been closed for a long time, though I did see two fitting rooms in the back. I'm not sure what's going on but if the manager or owner could look into this that would be great. It's an inconvenience to want clothing and not be able to try them on. Great location, super cute clothes, nice staff. Only complaint that holds it back from 5 stars is the fitting rooms! There are little rooms with only curtains instead of a door to change in, but the worst part is these curtains don't even close all the way. You have to be comfortable enough knowing someone will see you through a crack on either side of the curtain because there is a large enough gap for someone to completely see you changing. I would suggest coming with a friend so they can hold it closed for you or keep guard so no one tries to walk in in you changing (I saw it happen twice). Other than that the staff is a bunch of super sweet young girls who keep the store very clean and are very helpful. I noticed they took pride in making sure the mannequins look good from all angles and kept the store looking very neat. The clothing is what you would expect- classic "one size" brandy melville for tops, and a small, medium, large for most bottoms. They also have super cute and trendy accessories! Overall very pleased that I decided to drive an hour to this location. There is a lot more shopping/food in the area and is perfect to walk around too. read more

While I have no issue with the actual clothes there, I have found over the years (I'm from westport so have been going here since it opened), the girls who were there are very snobby - they are either on their phone, look miserable, and never greet anyone let alone ask if they need anything or have any knowledge on their product (if go in there looking for a specific item online, they have no idea what youre talking about). I live about an hour and a half from westport and I was expecting the workers to be rude (there were 3 workers and all the consumers were white lol) but they were really nice. You have to wait in line because of corona but I'm fine with that. The girl opening the door for you to go in is really nice and said that if I had any questions I could ask her. The store is kind of two floors and is kind of small but I really like it. I spent $400 there and it was quite pricey for what I bought but it was great. The downside is that when I came home one of my clothes had the security button on it. Also there fitting rooms aren't open but that's fine because there is a gap right infront of it where you could change. read more

Earlier this summer, two amazing salespeople from brandy melville in Westport rescued my wallet! I'd left it in the store by accident and a woman overheard me talking about it and wasted no time going to brandy melville ahead of me and pretending she was the owner of tne forgotten wallet. When I returned to the store, two of the salespeople immediately jumped into action and one of them literally chased the thief diwn tne street and insisted she give back the wallet!!! The staff here is snobby and rude. I went here with my sister who had a $100 gift card. First the checkout girl said it wasn't a gift card, then made us pay with our credit cards. Another staff member came over to us and said it was a gift card, so the original cashier made us get store credit instead of refunding our card when she's the one who messed up. They would have so much more business if people felt welcomed here and were treated nicely. I'm personally not coming back. i've been to a brandy in new york (the flagship location) and that was a good experience. this store is small and the inventory wasn't the best in my opinion, that being said they still had good clothing there. unfortunately the dressing rooms still aren't open which kinda sucks cause you cant return items you only get store credit but it's whatever. the staff was actually not bad, the cashier was super nice and helpful. overall the experience wasn't horrible. if you are looking for a good selection, i would recommend going to the brandy on broadway st in soho. but this store isn't too bad. read more

My friend asked about the price of a shirt that one of the employees was holding and the girl rolled her eyes. They are beyond rude, arrogant, and could care less about their customers. It seems as if they hate their life and would do anything to not work at the store.
