Do you remember retiring to the library room after dinner and having a brandy with your dad while smoking cigars in your tweed sport jackets. All while putting another log on the fire. No?? We'll neither do I.
So when I saw this Brandy museum, I thought 1) I haven't had Brandy since who knows when and 2) why is there a Brandy museum in the Philippines??
We'll first of all, it turns out that Emperador/Fundador (based in Spain) Brandy is Philippine owned, so they're showcasing the history of Brandy making and their company. That all makes sense to me now.
The tour guides were very accommodating, we walked up and they started immediately, and we were guided along each section - talking about the history, process and global reach, etc., it all culminated with a taste test which was really good and it was quite early so I'm glad it was just a taste to wet my whistle.
Of course you can purchase bottles to take home or brandy infused coffee drinks at the coffee bar. I thought this quick tour was very well done. I now know more about Brandy than I've ever known before.
All they need to do now is open a Scotch whisky (no e in Whisky) museum because the Emperador company also owns Dalmore and Jura. read more
