Unfortunately, this establishment has a bartender who seems determined to test that theory every shift she works. Rude, hostile, confrontational, and openly unwelcoming, she creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for anyone who isn't part of her preferred circle. I've watched customers get treated poorly simply because they rubbed her the wrong way. When a bartender's attitude becomes the most memorable part of the experience, that's a problem. I've ignored it before, but after repeated incidents directed at both me and my boyfriend, it's clear this isn't a bad day, it's a pattern. In Hoboken, customers have dozens of bars within walking distance. Hospitality isn't optional; it's survival. Making paying customers feel unwelcome is a bold strategy in a town where people can easily take their money elsewhere. Management should remember who actually keeps the lights on. Customers are hard to replace. Bartenders aren't. If this is the culture you're choosing to tolerate, don't be surprised when people choose to spend their money somewhere they're actually welcomed. Please, Do better.

We actually stopped in after a show and it was absolutely perfect. The oysters were good, the eggplant and zucchini chips were great and the burgers are always fantastic. My party was all very happy, and our server Anibal was spectacular, and very attentive.

The food is tasty with a few standouts, service prompt and the ambiance is welcoming with a large range of clientele from those attending concerts to people just getting a drink with friends at the bar. It feels like a bar with restaurant seating and that's pretty much on point. The strong choices are the drinks, the oysters and the burgers, reflecting it's bar origins. I've read that people say this is one of the best burgers in the city. It's a fine burger but you have to get out more if you think it's one of the best. Now I usually have it and really like it, but let's be real here. Other entrees that are good include the fish and chips and crispy onion rings, which I think are far better than the somewhat pedestrian French fries. In all the times I've been here, we never had dessert. Coffee is fresh and strong. I suggest you get a reservation for dinner because it does get crowded. Overall a solid, good choice.
