It's no secret that the Van Alstyne Braum's is struggling. I feel so bad for the kids behind the counter. They're kids. It's probably their first job. Have you read how mean these reviews are? Can you imagine being 16 years old and someone screaming in your face about a melting ice cream cone or cold French fries every single day? Have a little perspective. Sometimes management (a whole entire adult) is there, and things move along a little more efficiently, but it's not consistent at all. Where is the training? Where is the guidance? Where is my milkshake please? (We have had to wait more than 30 minutes sometimes. Which. Whatever. First world problems for sure. But also. Literally what is going on back there? Are y'all okay? Who is making morale so low back there that this kind of thing keeps happening on a consistent basis?) Is this a low-stakes environment? I mean, yeah. It's burgers and ice cream. But look, when Braum's is good, it's really, really, really dang good. Other chain fast food should be quaking in fear before the magnificence that is Braum's on a good day. If they sold ibuprofen and toilet paper, I would literally never go grocery shopping anywhere else. I know you guys can evolve the Van Alstyne Braum's into the formidable titan of ice cream and deliciousness it is capable of becoming. Please. We are counting on you. The Sherman location is a wasteland. You are our last hope. Most of the time, this location has more bad days than good. We had bone fragments? Plastic shrapnel? in our burgers a few days ago. Absolutely unhinged. The surprisingly present manager chalked it up to a processing issue and refunded the meal, which was nice, but also....what's going on? It's not the first time, either - I've gone full karen and called corporate a few times, not to be Big Mad About A Melted Sundae, but more like Hey, This Store Clearly Needs Some Additional Oversight And Training And You Are Not Investing In Them And That's Not Cool At All. Customer Service is severely lacking. After reading reviews how the kids are just kids. This really falls on management and training the kids. It just not the kids. After being ignored in line for about 5 minutes to get just ice cream (by 2 kids and an older adult) finally a teenager (Danielle) ask for my order and apologized for having to wait. This Braums was the perfect spot to stop for lunch! The inside was clean and big, to include a large grocery area, ice cream order spot and lunch/dinner order spot. Lately the service has been extremely slow. I understand that the amount of staff on hand determines the speed at which food can get sent out. We waited an hour for food. Another family still hadn't had food even after being there for over an hour. At which point, we still did not get the milk shake for the kids meal. Dipping sauces were missing. And part of the order was incorrect. At some point the inside needs to close down and only do drive thru. Getting drive thru patrons were getting food substantially faster. Let people know what's going on. Figure out a way to manage the situation. Not letting customers know that you are running 30-60 minutes behind is unacceptable. The ice cream is great! But the fast food is often old, and the obviously old grease leaves a nasty aftertaste. Unfortunately, the service also stinks here. Multiple times (due to the lack of local competition) my family has patronized this Braum's, only to stand at the counter being ignored for 10 minutes or more. When we finally spoke up and asked if someone could take our order, employees just looked at one another, clearly not wanting to help us. Several times we have encountered cashiers that can't count change and have tried to give us back more than we paid. Thankfully my husband is an honest man. But the saddest part is that every single time we have gone, the staff says, "here you go" or "here's your card", instead of "thank you". Good ice cream great fries crispy salty fries that go great with the ice cream. The severs can be a bit iffy but nothing majorly although, the drinks taste weird sometimes. Bad but the bathroom moved it up a star. Now starting out there are only two which you might say. "Ew what if there are more then one person" now I use to think that but I think there able to mange them better also there able to make them so much bigger there is total privacy I would recommend. I definitely DO NOT recommend this place for anyone. I would give this zero stars if i could. Went here to get 2 kids meals today at 7 pm we had 2 people in front of us and it did not look busy in the parking lot either. It took us 20 minutes just to order our food then sat in the line for another 20 minutes to get to the window only to have me pay and pull into another parking spot on the other side to only wait there for 20 minutes. It's a Braum's, maybe a little spacier than others. Easy access to a clean restroom in a clean store/restaurant. The thing that stands out about this location is that the stretch of the 75 frontage road that it is on has two-way traffic. It's the small things that make me happy like being able to get into the parking lot coming from north of the location without having to go to the next exit to the south and turn around. read more

We have been coming to this location at least once a week since we moved to the area 6 months ago. Unfortunately, we are regularly stuck getting our food from the same rude lady. She is fairly tall (taller than every other woman there). She has long all gray hair. She is fairly thin as well (thinner than all the other females). Wish I could remember her name, but honestly it is not worth remembering. I'm certain you can figure out who she is, because she was definitely working the drive thru hand out at 7:10 tonight. She also appears to be possibly a manager. I have had so many poor visits due to only her attitude. She consistently forgets parts of the order, and she ALWAYS blames me for the error. I have had instances where she forgot extra Braums sauce that I paid for, and when politely asking for the sauce, she claps back "you should check the bag. I put it in there." This lady has NEVER once apologized for anything. Every time she makes a mistake, she has some clap back rude comment. Tonight she finally drove me to the point that I am spending a significant portion of my evening drafting an email about how terribly unable she is to provide decent customer service. We ordered a crispy chicken bbq bacon combo with a large fry and large coke. We also ordered a 6 piece chicken strip meal with large fry large coke and an extra Braums sauce. We paid for exactly that, then pulled up to our favorite rude manager (not really). She handed us a soda, then another, then a bag of food. She never said hello. For that matter, in the maybe 40 times I've visited this establishment, she never has uttered any form of greeting. She then promptly did her signature "sign off" move and slammed the drive thru window shut in my face. She has an insane amount of practice at that, because she does it to every single customer. We drove off, hoping we got the correct food. Only 1/2 mile down the road we noticed that we were missing both orders of fries. So, of course, we turned around and went to get them. Upon walking up to the counter I was greeted by a pleasant young woman, who could clearly see something was wrong since I had a bag and a receipt. She asked what was wrong, apologized profusely, and quickly replaced the missing fries. THAT girl is a rock star. She should be running the show. Anyhow, the entire time the rude old woman scowled at me from across the counter. In the time I sat there waiting for the replacement, she clearly recognized me (I'm literally there at least once a week) and didn't once utter a single syllable. Just stood there shooting daggers across the restaurant. She then flipped her hair when I turned to leave with my corrected order. Let me say this. I have worked in customer service for nearly 20 years. This woman had no place interacting with any establishment's customers ever. I normally just give her a pass because I figure she was just born rude, but when you cannot even say hello or offer an apology, then you move over and let someone else do the job. The young woman that did fix the order totally gets it. You guys have some house cleaning to do, and it needs to start at the top from where I stand. read more

Very disappointed! We lived next to a Braum's and worked there for multiple years to know what good service, food and what the industry is about and what they strive for. This Braum's is NOT striving for anything! We moved to this location a couple months ago, still stoked we were close to a Braum's still. We've been to this location for our groceries, good and ice cream. I will only recommend this story for its groceries only at this point. We went this morning and got biscuits an gravy, burrito's and cherry limeade's diet for breakfast. The biscuits were hard and gross with texture, the limeade's were sweet and the soda water needed to be replaced, water down. The burrito's were tolerable yet the only thing good about our meal but was also the one thing that was missing when we left the drive through and came home. They didn't give them to us so we had to turn around and go back up there, this wouldn't be a issue normally if yesterday the 18th they didn't forget something then to. We went here for some groceries and 2 chili cheese fries after shopping, left and got home to realize there was NO CHILI ON OUR CHILI CHEESE FRIES! WTH. Went back up there to confront them and get chili on them. When we got home to eat them, some fries were really hard and some not fully cooked and what felt like out of spite.. they flooded the fries with chili even tho there wasn't much fries in there to begin with for a large. Each time we come they forget something or the service is really crappy. Even when it come to making their sundae's they forget whipped cream, nuts and cherry.. isn't that the basic toppings when making a hot fudge sundae? What is going on at this store? Best ice cream in the area. I've eaten inside here, used the drive-thru, but never purchased anything from their mini-store. The ice cream cones are always fresh, and sometimes the frost from the freezer are still on them. The food is good, and hot. The fries are nice and semi-crunchy. The salads are fresh, and they can make them without chicken. I usually go here for the cherry lime-aides because they remind me of the drugstore kind. But, the VA drugstore is no longer in business, so I come here instead. The restaurant is always clean, and so are the restrooms. The workers are friendly and helpful. read more
