My experience with Brave Health has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. After I originally requested to be reassigned away from a psychologist named Abby towards the end of 2025 due to ostracized, criticized and unsupported making my interaction with her uncomfortable during appointments, I was still reassigned back to the same provider months later despite previous communication about the issue. Because of the delays and lack of follow-through, I've now gone an extended period without proper continuity of care or access to my medication management. Attempting to contact the office has also been difficult, with repeated voicemails and little to no timely communication back. That being said, I do want to acknowledge that not everyone at Brave Health has been a negative experience. Tyler, one of the therapists there, and Alex, who does EMDR, have both been wonderful, compassionate, and genuinely supportive providers. They are honestly a large part of why I have stayed with Brave Health as long as I have instead of already seeking therapy elsewhere. Unfortunately, despite having positive experiences with certain therapists, my experience with psychiatric care and provider reassignment has been so poorly managed that I am now considering finding a psychologist outside of Brave Health altogether. Mental health care requires professionalism, compassion, responsiveness, and respect for patient concerns. Patients seeking support should not feel ignored or stuck in limbo while trying to access care. read more

If you are in need of mental health services or even god forbid an IOP do NOT go here. These guys have been canvassing Florida therapists for clients but they are a complete joke. Especially for people in need of therapy plus medication management. It's very difficult to get a live person, lots of prompts to leave voicemail or send an email, and once you connect all communication after is via text. Call backs are challenging and appointments are scheduled without notice, people are also randomly discharged. The place is chaotic and poorly run. There are actual established online IOPs if you need help, unfortunately this is not one of them. I write this to hopefully save a life. Because the negligence of this place could actually harm someone. Have your PCP or doctor find something else for you in network and if you are a hospital or IOP DO NOT refer people here who really need it. This may be good if you have some mild depression, don't mind waiting for care, and are okay with talking with a counselor. I was set up with a BraveHealth appointment by a local hospital upon discharge. I emailed them on a Monday to reschedule. By Wednesday I had received no response, so I emailed again and called. I still received no response, but upon calling their customer service AI was able to help me reschedule. On the day of the appointment, the text and email that should have contained the link to the appointment were blank. The AI forwarded me to an unmanned voicemail system. They claim they can receive texts but they don't answer those either. All told, I've reached out nine times via three methods in the last five days and have yet to receive a human response. I'm not sure there are in fact humans employed here. I have filed formal complaints with the necessary parties. read more

Brave Health's mismanagement has left my daughter without her prescribed medication for weeks. First, they failed to inform us that we both needed to be present for her medication management appointment. I was explicitly told they only needed to speak with me. During that meeting, we were unable to obtain her medication and agreed on a specific date and time to reschedule. We both rearranged our schedules and showed up as agreed, only to be stood up by the provider. We later discovered she had unilaterally booked us for a completely different, inconvenient date and time a full week later without communicating this to us. She then failed to show up to that appointment as well. The final blow was a same day cancellation because the provider was "unexpectedly out of the office." At no point was there urgency, accountability, or continuity of care. This is psychiatric medication management for a child. Weeks without medication due to administrative failure is unacceptable. We are taking our daughter's care elsewhere. Families deserve better than this level of incompetence. read more

Two appointments were set up by BCBS/Lucet. One for Wednesday and another for Thursday. Both at 2 pm confirmed by email. I completed online registration as directed by Brave Health email link. No followup came as stated in registration process. I called and was told there was only one appointment they had on file for 5 pm intake on Tuesday. I cancelled appointment with 3 way call including Lucet and Brave Health representatives. I continues to receive texts and calls from Brave Health for appointments. Avoid giving this company any business. They lack any organization, or integrity accepting there own failures and will use your private information to push patients to schedule more appointments after contacting them to cancel. They continue to deny any appointments and/or cancellations were made after multiple calls. read more

Brave Health is a scam. I was very specific in asking for a female therapist (because I am a female) and one day they assigned a MALE to me. When I did have a female, I had to counsel HER on the things that she could be doing to help me on my recovery journey, like providing me with poems or encouraging songs. When I became ill, I contacted them and told them I could not make my session because I was ill. ONE week later, while I was still recovering , they cancelled my treatment with them and threw me out of their system because I had missed ONE session. I had to send them PROOF that I had told them I was sick( text messages) and they pretended not to have received my transmissions of the texts, causing me to have to send the same information to them twice..... When I was online with them again the video on my computer stopped working. I asked if we could just have our sessions over the phone as I had done with other therapists. BRAVE HEALTH said NO! They told me if my video was not working that we could NOT have sessions! I thought about this and asked myself WHY do they need to see my FACE in order to conduct sessions with me? Perhaps they are actually just TRAFFICKERS, I thought. Finally, today, they just kicked me out of their system again and I say GOOD RIDDANCE to you Brave Health CREEPS! read more

I had a therapist for two weeks, she quit but before she quit I received a message and it contained somebody else's personal information, that was a patient at Brave Health. It was sent to my phone. I was disgusted. What are they doing sending out patients personal Mental Health information, to peoples phone. My therapist quit that next day.They tried to reschedule me with somebody else, but they violated every trust I had with them. They also limit what drugs they can prescribe, that alone makes them unfit to treat me. Do not waste your time, they are not in business to help their clients. I had my appointment with my psychiatrist today, finally, after waiting months. I stayed with Brave health working with Ashley, who I liked a lot at the time even though she was literally reading off pieces of paper at points during our sessions. Ashley unexpectedly left after I saw her 3 times. I forget the name of the 2nd therapist because I met her 1 time. Today I met Carrie the psychiatrist and the first thing she tells me is she doesn't handle controlled substances, which is immediately distressing to hear because I'm already on a controlled substance and that was part of what I needed to adjust. She proceeds to start asking what medications I take and very rudely interrupted me trying to explain something about a medication I'm on. The most horrifying part of the appointment though was when she said, "I see here you have a history of opiate abuse" which I DO NOT. I actually have told EVERY THERAPIST HERE that I avoid opiates because my DEAD MOTHER WAS ADDICTED TO THEM AND THEY SCARE ME! I tell her this and she kind of rolls her eyes and moves on. The next most concerning thing she says is, "I see you have a history of drinking but quit drinking in 2023" and I correct her again, because while I have quit drinking, it was because I have PCOS and it's hard on my body, not due to addiction. When I got upset and told this woman this information was wrong and offensive and hurtful, she got very condescending, as though she believed I were lying. Rolled her eyes, sighed, talked over me when I said I was no longer comfortable working with Brave health. I've never felt more violated. I trusted BOTH of the therapists I worked with, and I trusted the psychiatrist, and most importantly I trusted Brave health. I was entirely honest and seeking very serious mental help for suicidal ideations, bipolar disorder, extreme anxiety and depression and instead of helping me you all apparently only half listened to every word out of my mouth and labeled me a drug addict. I will be leaving this review everywhere and sharing this experience everywhere to make sure nobody trusts you, your staff or anything to do with your company regarding mental health. I cannot believe I almost put my metal brain in such unprofessional hands. Sincerely the worst experience I've ever had, and I've literally been in multiple horrible psych wards as a child and teen. No one got in touch with me for a new therapist even after eight phone calls (only able to leave a vm) emails and text messages with no response. All of a sudden l Get a text message that says I have an appointment. Hallelujah!! I confirm the appointment 3 times then 1 hour before my appointment I get a text cancellation Informing me that I need to do new patient paperwork. I send an email and text message stating I'm not a new patient and asking if I still need to do the paperwork and zero response. It has now happened 3 times!!! My experience on all three platforms that they claim are available for potential clients existing clients or their family members. I reached out to these people and so did the potential client. We both ended up with the same and results. They did not answer their text messages. They did not answer their email. They did not answer a referral. They did not answer anything and by the time they did, they said someone else will get back to us the same message. My client was given I was given. They ask people to be brave but then condemn them for being brave. They think that it's OK to to get back with a generic answer. If they have an influx of patience, they need to say that suffice to say the worst communication ever the worst follow up ever no accountability. This is the worst place I've ever been to if they're like this now, I would hate to be a patient or refer anymore potential patients to this place. I'm disgusted. I have the receipts to prove it. I take meticulous notes. I don't just leave reviews to condemn places I leave them so they can do better and they really do need to do better. This is a mental health facility. I needed a telehealth visit for my medication. Filled out all the necessary forms and was told I was speaking with someone for my medication. They canceled my 1st appointment 15 minutes before it and made me reschedule. The following day I got on a call with someone who just went through the paperwork I already filled out and couldn't answer when I would get an appointment with someone who can prescribe my medicine and instead scheduled me for therapy instead. Couldn't get anyone on the phone to answer me about anything. Called several times and always went to Voicemail. REGISTERED INTERNS BEWARE - NEW CLIENTS BEWARE: if you're not licensed, DO NOT WORK HERE. The job is not only overwhelming but you get micromanaged. You have to meet a quote of at least 7 clients per day and if you don't, you're cut off and fired on the spot. They will tell you in the interview, as they did with me, that they "know REALISTICALLY the clients cancel and you will average 5-6 a day." but as my supe kept telling me, at the end of the day it's a business so they DO NOT CARE FOR YOU OR THE CLIENTS. They expect you to get notes done within the hour and no later than the end of your 8 hour day, but the work load, especially contacting clients how they demand, takes more than 8 hours in a day, especially when you're required to facilitate a support group. Here's a kicker, while they continue to expand to different states and continue to hire therapists (and fire associate therapists), they contracted a third party qualified supervision for interns, but they only pay for 3 supe hours a month, anymore and you have to pay out of pocket. They don't care about your boundaries as a provider, your job is to have 8 hours filled every day, even though there's not enough clients for all the therapists they hire AND there ARE slow downs on intakes. But at the end of the day it's still a business and it's your fault if your hours are not filled. They also don't transition clients how they ethically should. They fire therapist so much that I have had clients that have switched therapists 3-5 times and they tell the client last minute "Your therapist unexpectedly left Brave" when in reality they cut them off. They are literally letting go of GREAT therapists because the higher ups need their money. Something I always found funny, you get 2 weeks of PTO per year, but you accrue 2.5 hours of sick visit per pay, so about 5hrs a month of sick visit. So if you call out without sick hours, then you use your PTO, then you have no PTO later. They want you to stay working while "avoiding burn out". They're "support", is to give you more information on how to manage burnout while you literally are on survival mode trying to meet unrealistic expectations. CLIENTS SEEK SERVICES ELSEWHERE. You will switch therapists frequently with last minute notices and no explanation except that "your therapist left unexpectedly". THIS IS HIGHLY UNETHICAL in all fields of therapy! They will not answer phone calls, texts are missed frequently while your phone will be overwhelmed and bombarded with text messages and emails. The attendance policy is so strict that it really sets you up for failure. God forbid you have life instances that affect your attendance, they don't care, you will be discharged. And no matter the reason you are discharged, if you reestablish within a few months, you're a new client and have to do new patient paperwork every time, even though those papers are legally in effect for a year unless stated otherwise on said paperwork. after my primary doctor sold his practice, I was referred to Brave health. my first interview was January 30th. I explained my Adderal would run out on the 3rd of February. the assured me they would rush the process along. on the first, I had another interview with their medication dept. then, nothing. the third came and went and finally got a call on the 5th saying the would not refill my Adderal because of "All the opioids I take". the thing is, I've been on Adderal for years. it's had the blessing of my doctor, my cardiologist and my pain management doctor. I take no opioids or narcotics other than Belsomra for sleep. I called and complained to my therapist, and she sent emails to everyone. now it's been 2 weeks, and no response. nothing! no help for withdrawal or to offer me something else. I have now informed them I won't be seeing them anymore. Beware this place. they clearly don't care about you. I've never been treated like this anywhere before. sad they can't even call. because of this, I'm off the Adderal and my races 24/7. my anxiety is off the charts. if they can't respect their Hippocratic oath which states "Physician, do no harm, how can you expect them to actually help you. I was recieving great care from my therapist starting August of 2023. I was going to Brave Health for Caregiver Therapy through my son's insurance with the state. He has a disability that is difficult his insurance offers to cover this kind of therapy for me. But in May of 2024 I got an email asking me to sign up to be a self-pay. I asked why and they said my insurance hasn't been paying the bill. So I replied to their email with my son's ID card. I got no response. It went on like this for a long time. they send me a bill and I send them my son's ID card. As I escalate the issue they tell me that they don't do "caregiver therapy". And whenever I asked when that changed, they said March, then they said January. I had to submit two escalations with my insurance company just to get someone to call me back from Brave Health. Before that, whenever I called, you had to leave a VM. Then they email you a response from a noreply@ so you can't even reply back. They still keep giving me the run around. Today on the phone the supervisor first tells me they don't run insurance if it isn't the patient's name. THEN she said she submitted it to his insurance several times but it was denied. I told her to email me proof, and she hasn't, because she can't. Now I got another email from brave health today that they added charges to my account! Im so over this place. read more

I'm a retired LCSW, currently disabled because of multiple strokes, cardiovascular disease, as well as hematology related diseases. I have suffered 7 ischemic strokes in the past 37 months. Prior to, I was a LCSW licensed clinician in the state of Florida for almost 20 years, working primarily with trauma and crisis response clients. I contacted my insurance case manager through Medicare because my old therapist no longer accepted my Medicare plan once my disability was approved. She connected me with Brave Health. The initial phone assessment was fine. I told the assessor I was also a clinician and was well versed in crisis management and trauma but needed a therapist who was experienced with working with critically ill patients, as I have 3 terminal dx's. She was very thorough and assured me that she would match me up with a provider who met my qualifications and who also understood that I was coming back to therapy as a seasoned clinician myself and needed someone who would be able to work with my experience and not be condescending from the get go. I usually spend once a month in patient for medical bridging of my tx protocols, as they are always changing the way my medical care team works with me. This was told upfront. I was matched with a therapist, Sheldy, was not provided with a CV/bio, just assigned. Booked my first appointment. That first week, my kids were off school, and my 10yo was experiencing flu like symptoms. I ended up taking her in; positive for influenza B. Unfortunately this week, I started displaying said symptoms as well as my 14yo & had to cancel in plenty of time. We were both dx with influenza type B. I was immediately scolded, was told that her only opening was in over 3 weeks, and they didn't hear back from me, they would assume I was no longer interested in their services and would close my case out. What kind of compassion and communication skills are they working with at this agency? I worked with court ordered trauma/ abuse clients who were mandated by the court to come to therapy & I would have given my clients more grace than this therapist and agency that my insurance company is paying for along with my own copayment. This is completely unacceptable especially when you are dealing with the chronically/ terminally ill population. Based on my experience, I would never recommend anyone at all looking for an even half way decent experience in psychotherapy to consider this agency. You'd be much better served finding a professional therapist who sees clients in person and is just not running up billing codes for federal insurance such as Medicare. read more

Very disappointed. I got one practitioner who prescribed meds for my ADHD (she was fine), and a talk therapist. The talk therapist was ok in the first meeting but during the second session after telling her about my homework and an article I read she started RAISING her voice at me (not in anger but obviously quite agitated). She seemed excited for a reason I can only infer. She apparently doesn't like patients who read. I read on average a dozen articles of all sorts a week. I cut her off to tell her I thought a statement she made about me was wrong and that her tone was too much for someone taking meds that increases one's BP by 20 points. It was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I did not show anger at all. All she could do was chide me some more for not doing what she wanted (cutting her off really irritated her), which she probably got from some script. She defended herself by saying she was passionate. I told her I don't need passion, I need help. My people skills are 10 times better. I only wish I had recorded it to play it back to her supervisor. I've had exactly 5 cancelled appointments because the scheduler refuses to either as when I'm available or provide the correct time in my timezone. If it were consistently in one timezone it would.be less confusing, but it's different every time and they don't specify or answer questions in a timely manner. read more
