Specialties
Mental health care should feel personal, thoughtful, and connected. At AMP Mental Health, we provide psychiatric care and therapy in Miami designed around the individual, not just the diagnosis.
Since 2020, we have supported children, teens, and adults throughout South Florida and across the state by telehealth, with care for anxiety, depression, ADHD, panic attacks, OCD, bipolar disorder, PTSD and trauma, insomnia, and substance use, including medication-assisted treatment.
Our team includes board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners who handle evaluations and medication management, and licensed mental health counselors who provide individual and couples therapy. Care is available in English, Spanish, and Cantonese.
We accept more than 40 insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare, and our team verifies your benefits before your first visit. Appointments are often available the same week, in person at our Miami office or by video anywhere in Florida.
History
Established in 2020.
With balance at its core, AMP Mental Health was founded in 2020 by Dr. Adrian Mesa as a different approach to psychiatry and mental health care. Instead of pushing pills or jumping to a diagnosis, AMP treats patients as whole people with complex lives, and those details matter when treating mental illness. What began as a small Miami practice has grown into a multidisciplinary team providing psychiatry, medication management, and therapy to patients throughout South Florida and across the state by telehealth.
Meet the Business Owner: Adrian M.
Dr. Adrian L. Mesa is the Founder and CEO of AMP Mental Health, a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, U.S. Army veteran, and former University of Miami professor. He has worked in healthcare since 2006 and has focused on psychiatry and mental health care since 2012.
A first-generation Cuban-American, Dr. Mesa founded AMP Mental Health in 2020 with a mission to provide compassionate, personalized, and accessible psychiatric care, and to reduce the stigma around seeking help, particularly in the Latino community. His approach centers on therapeutic trust, transparency, and treating each patient as an individual. Under his leadership, AMP has grown into a multidisciplinary practice providing psychiatry, medication management, and psychotherapy in English and Spanish throughout South Florida.
