Bravissimo sells underwear for those ladies blessed in the old rack department. A big chest can sometimes feel liek a curse, though and some good bra engineering can work wonders. I just fit in at the small end of Bravissimo's scale, being fairly slim, but with a proportionally large cest (sigh...it's a hard life) so I find some of their bras a bit too extremely controlling for me. During the summer, they do a range of supportive-but-still-cool swimwear, and a small range of clothes for those of us that have that annoying gaping shirt buttons problem. Sorted. read more

Being a maiden of the ample-bosomed persuasion, it is so hard to get a bra that actually fits properly let alone a nice one! For years, I've had to go for plain ones because the other option was full cup granny bras. Horrifying! Lingerie shopping has often been a vastly traumatising experience, best avoided until absolutely necessary. And then Bravissimo opened up and the world was a brighter, lacier place! Not only were they able to size me properly and fit me with the first comfortable bra I can remember wearing since puberty, but they actually have a nice and colourful selection! Amazing! Unfortunately once you get to anything above a C-cup, braziers don't come cheap. They start at about £20, but tend to average around £30 - £40. Sad for the budget, but you do pay for quality (gone are the days when Debenhams bras would burst and stab me with underwire). Bravissimo have their own line of lingerie, but also have stock from designers such as Masquerade who make some very pretty bras and knickers. The service level from the ladies in this shop is just amazing. You can make an appointment for a fitting, so you are rarely kept waiting. Even if you just want to be seen to as soon as possible, they always give you waiting times, and there are plenty of comfy seats while you wait. The fitter will ask you what style and colour you're looking for, and will bring back a selection after the initial sizing to try on. It's always reassuring that they bring back more than one size in the different styles, as manufacturers seem to differ in their measurements. Additionally, the fitters really put you at ease, and always ask if you want them to leave the room while you change bra. Some other places can leave you feeling a wee bit awkward. I've been frequenting this shop since it opened, and with this level of service and good selection, it's unsurprising that they'll continue to see me come through their doors (hopefully) for years to come. Bravissimo is a great shop for those ladies who are well endowed and require over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders. If you've never been along before it's a good idea to get a fitting - if you're going on a weekend I advise you go in and book a time and come back, it can get very busy and you may need to wait a while otherwise. Bravissimo's fitting style is different to what you will find in other shops - no tape measures here, they will start off from looking at you and what size you normally wear and bring a range of sizes for you to actually try on. What they find in fitting is that most women wear a back size which is too large. They don't keep every possible size on the shop floor so if a bra takes your fancy and they don't have your size, take the bra to the fitting rooms and they will check the stock rooms and bring the bras to your fitting room for you - the staff are very friendly and helpful. This shop also stocks normal clothing which is designed with curvy ladies in mind. read more

I'm irrationally picky about the way bras fit and annoyed at how few places get it right. And that's why I love Bravissimo. They may only start their bra sizes at a D cup but it covers a lot more of the population than most people assume, and they actually know how a well fitted bra fits. Bravissimo is the only place in person that seems to have a good selection of bras in my size (30GG). They have so many brands and designs (for a physical location), and you can order from the website to be delivered if they don't have what you need in stock. They also have the Pepperberry side (which has a separate listing, so I won't go into it here), which has clothing that fits those with larger breasts. The bras are a bit spendy, but well worth it. They have sales as each season rotates out if you want to save a bit. I'll note this: cheaper brands aren't worth the money you're saving when you buy them. That being said, the pants in the matching sets have always been too expensive for me to bother. And now onto fitting. Even if you've been sized elsewhere, I suggest getting sized here. There are some good methods to determine sizing but the worst that can happen is they can put you in that size. Bravissimo is one of the rare please that actually does proper fitting. None of this measuring over your breasts to get band size (!?), no adding +4/+5 to your measured underbust to get band size, and no squishing women into bras that where the gore doesn't tack and the band is riding up just so they make a sale. In fact, Bravissimo doesn't measure you. They will instead have you keep trying bras and check the fit until something works in both your size and the shape you need. read more

As a previous reviewer has noted - once you go to Bravissimo then you can't go anywhere else. So the obvious - yep, is a great shop for those requiring a 'bigger' bra and who aren't as well catered for on the high street. Many retailers are still painfully behind in catering beyond the A-D cup sizes and where bigger sizes are offered, the bras are usually for the boudoir - not a hope in hell of running for a bus without the straps breaking, boobs breaking free, risking a black eye or an invite for an afternoon swally with the drunk who has been eye level with your boobs at the bus stop. Its also a place where you can get a decent fitting by girls who know their stuff - the weekends can be really busy so it can be worth calling and booking in, but the service is great. Staff will run up and down stairs and between the stockroom to get you multiple bras to try on and really know their stock. All the big 'big' bra brands are here: Freya, Panache, Faubourg, Fantasie to name a few. Yep, it can also be expensive (av. £30 per bra) - the price you pay for bigger boobs - but the reality is, once you get fitted properly for a decent bra, you can stop necking the painkillers and let your liver regenerate as the backache stops, so would have thought, that in its self, would have longer term cost benefits. If price is a concern then it is definitely worth checking out the Bravissimo sale where there are some great bargains on underwear and swimwear though its better to get a fitting and then hunt through the sale items afterwards. The Glasgow Bravissimo is also combined with Pepperberry for clothing with added boob room though I do find Pepperberry clothes a bit hit and miss - what is it about the lack of sleeves, regardless of the season?! read more

Once you go Bravissimo you can never go back. Just to clarify, I am not a 56 ZZ like the average woman Bravissimo targets. What I have instead is a regular sized cleavage on a small back which results in a very awkward size that is hard to find anywhere. Except Bravissimo. Once I started wearing their bras I noticed a massive different in comfort and support. You really can tell the difference in quality. The staff in Bravissimo are also trained in measuring sizes, however you may have to wait in the shop for a while until someone becomes available. My only complaint is that, because Bravissimo mainly cater to women with enormous knockers, most of the designs are of an "over the shoulder boulder holder" style. A wee bit of sexiness wouldn't go amiss. read more

now ladies, when did you last get measured for a bra? hmmm? That long ago, tsk tsk! I think it might be time for you to pop into Bravissimo and check that you're not doing your curves a disservice. They stock 28 different size variations of most bras so if it's not hanging up then ask a member of staff. The main changing room is upstairs and this is where their fitting service is. The difference between them & other places is that rather than using a inch tape to measure you while you wear your I'll fitting bra they do it on sight and by asking the obvious questions. To date I've never left with a bra that doesn't fit perfectly or doesn't enhance my generous curves. I also find the prices very reasonable with the styles range from functional to vavavoom! Their clothing range looks good, though expensive, however it only goes up to a size 18 at the moment so it's not for everyone. read more

When the Bravissimo store opened in Glasgow my mum insisted on dragging me in for a bra fitting. I was absolutely mortified as I had always associated Bravissimo with big massive Jordon knockers and I thought I was going to be laughed out of the place with my modest little offerings! However, mum is always right! Turns out I have a very small back size and D cup boobs, which is the smaller end of the Bravissimo scale. The staff were very friendly and helpful although the lady that measured me was multi-tasking with about 3 other customers which meant I was hanging about not wearing a lot for longer than I really like to! You can expect to pay around £30 for a bra from Bravissimo which is ok. I do have to agree with a previous reviewer though that while some of the bras are very pretty, they are designed for the larger end of the size range so can be a bit matronly in fit. There also isn't really anything which is very sexy, cute and sweet yes, but sexy no. So for sexy I suggest heading to Curves and Lace in Princes Square. read more

Great shop hidden away off the main shopping streets. Wide range available including their range of fitted clothing. Very spacious and lots of light. Free fitting service is available on the first floor at no charge, they can often be busy so you can go an book a time and go back or wait on the sofas (there normally some magazines around). Asa young girl with a very large chest size (32g) I was very excited when this shop opened up. My first visit was a big let down though, as there wasnt one bra in the shop to fit me. I thought that I would give the shop the benefit of the doubt as I have bought a lot of underwear from the website and the undearwear does fit very well. Alias on my second visit there still wasnt a bra to fit me , so if you are perhaps the same size as me i would simply order whatever it is that you like on-line and save yourself the hassle of going all the way to the shop to simply leave empty handied. :-( read more

Really helpful staff in this store! I went to this store very stressed out looking for a great fitting strapless bra and left so happy! Can always find a great fit with matching underwear! A total god send for the Boobairian! Really lovely range of pretty bras and matching knickers and alo has other helpful things like shirts which are near impossible to find on the high street. The staff are nice and helpful. The prices are just around the same as normal stores e.g marks and spencer so I would recommend a look. read more

Went along to the Glasgow Bravissimo store....requested for a bra fitting and was given an appointment for an hour later. Didn't realise there would be an appointment system but no problem for an hour later. Claire a trainee at the end of her training was so kind and sensitive. Didn't feel comfortable....but she was so professional. Even if I wasn't big boobed I would come here....unhurried..relaxed and customer attention amazing. Not sure exactly what's going on with their bra fitting of late. Everytime I visit I'm told I'm a smaller size. I don't think it's possible to have lost 6 inches around my ribs and no where else without having noticed it myself. The last time I was there I was told I was a 26 back and that I could buy a bra from them but would have to go to an alterations store and get it taken in. I had gone in because I felt I had been wearing too tight a bra (around the ribs). So, uh... anyway... It's a pleasant enough atmosphere, just need to work out why the girls working there want to make it difficult for me to breathe. read more

This store wasn't for me as I don't think that staff are up to scratch. I had booked an appointment for a fitting but still needed to wait nearly an hour to be seen, with no apology or explanation. Then when I eventually had my fitting I got a very young girl who seemed very inexperienced. I needed a strapless bra and a couple of new every day bras. When she fitted me, I told her that the size that she was telling me to take was no good as was clearly too small. Whereby she said no it needs to be snug. I advised her that it was really painful and was cutting into me so badly I felt unwell and surely that's not right. To which she replied you might get used to it. At that point I cut my losses and left. I have no doubt if I had maybe got a more experienced member of staff it would have been a totally different experience but I am no rush to go back and find out. read more

So I finally took some friends advice and went to get fited for a bra. Since moving to the UK I have pretty much just been guessing my size as I am not super comfortable with fittings and such. 1st off the fitting was free which was great and the service was top notch. The woman who helped me went back and forth about a dozen times looking for various styles and sizes and showing me how to properly fit my bras. 1st time to buy from this shop and if my experience is the norm ,I will definitely be back ! I was returning a dress bought from their sister company pepperberry which was the wrong size and the shop had held over another size for me to try. Although the right size was no longer available from stock (much to my disappointment) the assistant was really very helpfull and selected other dresses for me to try .The one I really liked was one that I would not have picked myself but once I tried it on I new it was the right one. So, my advice to everyone is---Don't rule anything out until you have tried it on, the prettiest one may not actually suit your shape. I could not have had a better sales assistant, she was pleasant, helpful and courteous 10/10 on all counts. read more
