We had great success with this business, previously and also on Monday of this week. We had great difficulty lately getting our keys to work on our front door. My husband took out the front door cyclinder and had, Julian, as we were unable to see our front door keys for several days. Julian, placed 6-8 new tiny pins, which were inside the workings of cyclinder. He also make 4 extra copies of the front door key. Julian was very competent and was successful in solving this issue. cool spot to copy keys. it shares the lot with a gas station and the entrance and everything looks a bit shady but once you walk in it's alright. i came here because my friend recommended it and i know she wouldnt have if it was a scary place. it was my first time copying a key and i was curious how things work, and the guy at the counter was patient explaining things to me and friendly as well. overall my key experience here was lowkey fun and id prob come back if i need a duplicate key. the price is so good too! read more

Bravo Key & Lock ROCKS. I had a key dilemma recently and needed to make a duplicate. I walked on down to Southland and thought that would be that. To my dismay, they could not fill the order, but were nice enough to direct me to Bravo Key & Lock. So I moseyed over to Bravo Key & Lock, located next to the AZ Foodmart in its tiny crevice of a space. Mr. Ruben was closing a transaction with a rather garrulous customer when I entered the store. The customer had A LOT of keys. If I hadn't wandered in, I think he would've stuck around to shoot the breeze some more, but he also seemed like he had places to be and things to do. So he departed with a grateful wave to Mr. Ruben. Mr. Ruben then assessed my key, told me he could duplicate it and it would be two bucks and some change. He noted that its lock was a sturdy one. It took, at the most 5 minutes and I had a new key. After accepting payment, Mr. Ruben then busts out with "Thank You" in what sounded like Mandarin. After I advise him that I'm Viet, he commences to thank me in Vietnamese and show off his counting skills; the man can go up to at least fifteen. I've only been here for key copy services so my rating is solely based on this. Great, quick service. I've been here 4 times (I tend to lose things a LOT) and am always in and out in 5 minutes. The staff is friendly, professional, and prompt. The reason I'm giving this place 5 stars is because I drove by here today, on a Sunday, and there was a staff member that just happened to be inside grabbing stuff before he went on a job. I walked in and although he said they were closed on Sundays he still took the time out to duplicate my keys. I couldn't thank him enough and he made it seem like it was no big deal. 6 stars for Ruben. I called these guys and Ruben came over to look at my needs within 15 minutes. I was not in emergency mode at all, I only needed to beef up the security on my father's back door and re-key to match an older lock. Ruben checked it all out, left with his list of things needed, and had it all ready the next morning. I got a courtesy call, and he showed right up, drilled the door for a new deadbolt and changed out a lockset, all in about an hour. Really great service, very fair price, and solid work. I've been a customer for over 15 years. I took my single cylinder lock in to get it rekeyed to match another lock and instead of it costing $8 that I paid in 2014, it was now $18. I complained but the guy said that's the new pricing. I was in a pinch so I paid the $18 for a service that took all of three minutes and I feel totally cheated. I regret that now. I got home and called another locksmith and they told me they charge $5 for that service if I bring them the lock just as I did with Bravo. Greed ruins customer relations. I'll never go back again. All i can say is they know what they are doing! Not that I get locked out a lot or need new locks often or keys or..... ok ok, they've changed my locks for my business. They've let me a house i was locked out of, and they've even gotten me out of my car TWICE .... ummm... ok a few times... :o/ yes, i have issues, but i have someone to save me from myself. On top of locks and making alll my keys, they sell awesome locks that you can't buy in the store with huge keys that can't be duplicated so you feel pretty safe. It's a tiny little shop that is easy to miss, but inside has a TON of key options and super-friendly service. I've gone to Home Depot to have keys cut and so often get home and the keys don't work. Never had this problem here, all my keys are always made correctly. read more

In my experience, I had one too many keys copied at the Home Improvement stores that did not work. So, that's when I started using locksmiths exclusively. My job also requires a lot of keys made. Locksmiths tend to only be open Monday through Friday. Bravo is open on Saturdays, a rare find.... and also, Berings on Bissonnet & Westlayan has key making set up and is open Sat. and....Sunday. I would call Berings first before heading over, just to make sure the person that knows how to cut keys is there that day....not that I've had any problem...but I've just seen that not all the associates in that area of the store are trained on the Key making machine. But back to "Bravo Keys". Bravo has a tiny space on the 'end' of the Gas Station there. It's only a few blocks east of Westheimer and St. Annes Church, so it's actually closer to Shepard. I decided to change the casing on a car key. Next day, car wouldn't start. I figured it was the key because I had problems with the key not working to 100% to begin with. I was stuck at home so I call everyone I know to see if they can come help but most live far away and everyone was telling me it had to be something else. The dealership said I would need a new key and have the car towed to them to reprogram the key for $300. UH.... so if I lived 300 miles away? Locksmith. My one relative in Houston calls me to see how I am doing and I said I probably just need a locksmith. She recommended Bravo Key & Lock and tells me she's relied on them for 10 yrs and says how great and wonderful they are. I call Bravo Key & Lock and a man answers happily, asks my location, tells me to text him my address as he finishes up his shopping. He happens to be in the area. The man says he can stop by and take a look at my key and casings to see how he can help. Less than 20 minutes Bravo Key & Lock man arrives. He shows me the solution to my key problem within 2 minutes and I ask what the charge is-- $000000 !!! He gave me a sense of peace and sanity. Professionalism beyond, in my opinion. He treated me practically like family. He told me to stop by the store in the morning to fix my casing properly and see if they can get my key back to 100%. I will bring my key business back to them and gladly pay what ever they charge. Call this company. I had my door refinished and the refinishers broke the lock. I called at 4pm on the Friday before Thanksgiving and they were at my door in 20 minutes. "Locksmith" is one of those businesses for which trust is everything. We invite these people into our houses and give them access to our most precious possessions. When the trust is broken in any way, it's time to end the relationship. When we moved into downtown Bravo rekeyed our whole house. When we switched to a different style of lock Bravo rekeyed all of our locks. I've trusted them with my family's safety for fourteen years. But on my latest job, they lied to me and they wasted my time. I hate to have to build a new relationship with a new locksmith, but now the trust is broken. In hindsight, with so many five-star locksmiths in the area, there's no reason to go to someone sketchy like Bravo. (They respond that they treat everyone like family. Great service! For $30 less than it would have cost to buy a whole new door knob for our front door, we were able to rekey two doors and make a key for my husband's arcade machine. Considering he had to hand make the arcade key, I feel $15 was a very good price for that part (but I'm not very knowledgeable on this subject..). The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is I think there was a miscommunication on what time I needed this done, and hence he arrived half an hour after what I thought was the scheduled time. Not a big deal since I was going to be home all day anyway, and I would still use them for any other locksmith needs. read more

Fast and really affordable. I got three keys made (for about $6 total) which took about five min. tops from walking in the door and being paid up. Just note that there is a $10 minimum for credit cards so bring cash if you just need a few keys made.
