A cozy step back in time spot located right off center hill lake! We stopped here after a chilly morning motorcycle ride and it was just what we needed. Greeted by a couple of older ladies running the show, I felt like we're on run from smokey! Their prices are more than fair, very cheap, with a good portion size to accompany! Everything wr had was very good and filled us up nicely. Great service from the staff, we will be coming back if we're in the area!

Chocolate caramel fudge pie. At least that's what I call it. It melts in your mouth and is so delicious.

The food has always was amazing! The best thing about this place is definitely their pie! So far, we have only tried the chess pie and then I'm not really sure what it was called, but it had chocolate caramel and chocolate again. It was amazing. The catfish always comes out piping hot! This is our new go to place, we'll be regulars before long!

We were passing through headed home to Murfreesboro, saw this little place and decided to stop in about 4 pm on a Saturday. Reviews are good, so we gave it a shot! Food was amazing if you like down home southern cooking. They're known for cat fish and desserts, but we got the chicken livers and roast beef with sides, then a piece of coconut meringue pie to go! Holy moly! We found this little restaurant by accident, and glad we did. Ambiance was very family friendly and casual, and the service was polite and punctual! We'll definitely be back!

I've been in the south all my life and this is by far the best catfish I've ever had. And the hush puppies were spot on! Service was friendly and fast. The ambiance was very basic, country cookin' dinning room set up. I wasn't here for the ambiance, but was certainly comfortable.

Veggie omelet with biscuits; sausage omelet with hashbrowns and biscuits smothered in sausage gravy.

A gem of a small-town country restaurant. The breakfast menu has everything you could want to order. Prices are reasonable. I had hot cocoa, veggie omelet with biscuits, and we couldn't resist a slice of their pie. The pie menu has 10 options! It was almost like eating at Grandma's house.

Hidden gem for breakfast, family owned restaurant. Great prices for the portions, The breakfast was delicious. The food came out promptly, and the people there were very friendly. Worth stopping by as it is located by a gas station and right off the highway as well.

What a gem for home cooking. We saw the sign from the highway and decided to check it out. So glad we did. It is a nice family place with good southern home cooking. We tried a few things and all were delicious. They also have a great variety of homemade pies. It is an older place, but clean. The staff were friendly and service was good. Would definitely go back.

    Clearly it was delicious.

They have a venmo barcode outside, (it is $10 for parking) but I couldn't get it to work, so I went inside. It was packed! But I did manage to pay and get a receipt to put on my dashboard. They told me I could get $5 off my purchase if I showed my receipt. However at the register they said that promotion was over. In the end, they honored it, so I appreciated that. We had the banana pudding and peach cobbler and an ice cream. The ice cream was purchased separately, so we got it immediately. But it took at least 20 minutes for the pudding and cobbler. At one point, I jokingly said to my daughter "are they making it right now"...and they I think they were. The vanilla wafers on the sides and bottom were crunchy, not soggy. It is one of the better banana puddings I've had lately. Definitely recommend it! The cobbler was warm but not what I was looking for. They have a ton of local made products and the bathroom was very clean. Their sign advertised Farm to Table. If we get out that way again I would definitely give their menu a try.

We were excited based off some of the reviews and pictures, but ended up disappointed. I kept trying to find reasons to make the visit better, but everything just fell flat. For starters, the staff wasn't attentive at all. The hostess went to sit us outside as requested, because it looked so relaxing from walking up, upon entering the outside, many people were smoking (cigs, not vape). I'd don't mind if people smoke, but I don't want to eat a meal with it lingering around. We then went back inside and they sat us in the corner by the drink station/kitchen. Throughout the meal, the waitresses gossiped about their lives and their customers while the table next us a waitress was wrapping silverware. Our waitress didn't arrive for like ten minutes and then took forever to bring our drinks back. The vibes were just all off. Like they all wanted to get out of there and not be around each other. It wasn't even late. The food was average, nothing spectacular. We got a burger and the fish and chips. For a traditional pub, fish and chips should be one of the best things on the menu, less than par. The beer cheese soup was a highlight. Very good. We also ordered some type of pear cheeseburger. Different, but not bad. I'd try something else if I were to return. The decor is traditional pub meets modern hipster vibes. Hard to screw up. Although, limited beer options. Only 4 drafts for a pub is kinda weird. The good news is there's a brewery next door. Like I said, I was optimistic and excited. I don't give a lot of bad reviews but this one didn't hit the mark. Considering there are many other options within walking distance, I'd try something else if I were you.

Sad to see, I'm not sure outside of the obvious recession if that is playing a part but the customers were there, however the complete lack of service was not. Only sandwiches on menu now and fries well they took order for it but served fried tomatoes which we also had as an appetizer, said they didn't have any fries. Fried Green Tomatoes are the BEST I've had in many, many years. Sliced perfectly with a cornmeal breading that was seasoned to perfection and fried to a wonderful crispness and drizzled with the chipotle crema. I could have eaten 2 plates of them and been thoroughly satisfied. However I also had the Bootlegger Chicken Fried, not hot, minus the lettuce and onion. Also very good no sauce, spreads or dressings needed--seasoned well. Hubby had the Duo Dip and the Stillhouse Farm Burger. I only tested the Duo Dip which was also amazing but his plate was empty from the burger so that tells me it was good. He also had a side of Pimento Mac and cheese bake--YUMMY!! Drinks-- Cos-Moon-Politan was amazing and not lacking in anything. Short Mountain Long Island also quite yummy but I like the cosmo better. Moonshine Brownie Trifle--just don't. No really YOU ABSOLUTELY SHOULD GET THIS!!! OMG!!! Excellent finish to the entire experience.

Our server Rachel was quick to greet us, friendly, and helpful. Brick walls, wood block sculptures, and old black and white photos of the town serve as decor, making the place very welcoming. A smoked ham, cheese, and fig sandwich... cheese quesadillas... pork belly sliders... steak and mushroom wrap... all great. Our only disappointment was the gumbo. Even when we rarely go out for boat days (usually in priest or old hickory) we avoid packed outdoor food venues, but it wasn't too bad on a Sunday afternoon here. No wait & plenty of outdoor seating with ample space between tables. One thing all of us mask wearers noticed was that the staff & servers were not masked at all, they didn't even have masks on them, & very few of the patrons coming & going had mask on either. Must be due to the geopolitical views of the people in the area. This concerned me & I kept my mask on the entire time except while eating since the staff were not masked & walking by closely and often. I won't let that factor into the review but it needs to be noted for others who look here for guidance. There were several drink specials & food specials made known to us by our server immediately & he was quick to fill our drink orders of mango habanero bloody marys & pontoon punch which are both highly recommend by our party. I ordered some fried pickles to split up & they are very different & exceptionally good. They are slivers of pickle spears fried in a manner that resembles fried green beans. Everybody raved about them & they were gone quickly. One order was almost enough to share for 4-5 people. Half of the party ordered club sandwiches & the other half ordered burgers & fish tacos. The fish tacos were stated to be better than Sams on old hickory & as good as some served on the Florida panhandle in PCB, Pensacola, Destin etc. the club sandwich was nothing to write home about, pretty basic & fairly bland. The Mac & cheese is well above average & could make the cut of the top 10 I've had in the middle Tennessee area. IMPORTANT NOTE. THEY CHARGE A 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. If I was on the lake I'd probably come back, I'd expect to see masks on the staff though.
