DINNING OUT. STEPPING OUT RVing Today we ate in a restaurant for the first time since mid March (60 days) and that was on the patio. It's a long time family owned restaurant in the historic town of Gainesboro Tennessee. It was a long skinny restaurant with booths lining both sides with no tables in the center and every other booth was closed off. The lady wore gloves, wash them often with sanitizer and also change the gloves often. We watch her sanitizethe every bit of the table and booth when people left. Everything on the table was new. Ketchup came to you in a little containers, no salt and pepper shakers but a salt and pepper packets. Same with cream and sugar, silverware came in a little bag, Nothing another customer could've touched. Also plastic between you and the cashier. Felt very safe eating there.. I had chicken fried steak, two eggs over easy with chopped taters and a biscuit and gravy. I forgot to take the picture before I messed my plate up, but it was one of the best chicken fried steaks I've had in about 10 years. And get this, it was only $6.50. I've paid $18 for the same meal, but of course served with fancy silverware and a white table cloth. And the lady was so nice. But I think that's the norm in Tennessee. We noticed the young men coming in to pick up takeout orders using yes ma'am and thank you ma'am. I hope my California rudeness didn't show through. Definitely going back. We had a Delicious sandwich & fries. Great gravy on the poutine-esque "Disco fries". Quality meat on the cheesesteak which was chopped well and very beefy, excellently diced onions, good soft bread, nice cheese option with the Cooper Sharp. Great portion size and quality food, though a bit pricy. We left full, but my wife and I shared one fry and split one sandwich spending $30 total. Overall, best Philly steak I've had outside of Philly. Lots of other delicious looking options. We look forward to coming again soon.

We were not bothered by that but some people may certainly be bothered by it. The waitress came to the table and asked if we needed a menu, she brought silverware and asked us what we wanted to drink. It appeared there was one waitress and one cook. We brought our drinks and asked what we wanted to eat and I said I wanted to pancakes with bacon and the I said are you sure are pancakes are really large as she motioned to about the size of a plate. I said yes I want two of them and I could have done without the eye roll at not taking her suggestion. The hubby ordered biscuits and gravy, eggs, hash browns, and sausage. She brought out our meal and asked if we needed more coffee or tea. It was a good breakfast and there was plenty of food to eat. We left there satisfied and I am sure when we are back in the Celina, Tennessee area we will stop in here again.

They let you try really anything to make sure you'll like it. A good example is truffle cream, but even the cheeses. 2. They try and get ahead of the line. By that I mean while they are making sandwiches they reach out to get the next order, and I'm always impressed that they remember the order. If they don't, or are not confident they do follow up. 3. Lexi and Sam today were amazing handling sandwiches and the customers with grace and kindness. They made us feel like we were special and again didn't make us feel rushed. 4. Additionally, I have an allergy and Lexi was completely understanding. She not only switched gloves but she made my sandwich in a completely different area to make sure nothing was cross contaminated. 5. I have never been disappointed in a sandwich I have gotten here. "Negatives" it should be said that the sandwiches are on the expensive side. Especially if you add anything extra. Which is why I tend to come here as a treat, a friend is in town, or if someone hasn't tried this place before. Surprisingly the sandwiches are big and it can be tough to finish the full sandwich in one sitting, but also that can be dinner or lunch tomorrow. As far as I know I haven't found a free parking area, so you do have to pay for parking.

All three people behind the counter greeted me enthusiastically and with big smiles when I walked in. I perused the menu and opted for La Toscana. While I was waiting, I was enticed by the beautiful display of delicious and fresh ingredients in the display case. Every sandwich is made to order, but they worked very quickly so I didn't have to wait long. Overall the sandwich was excellent. In particular the Truffle Honey really took it over the top in terms of great flavors. I did feel that the focaccia was a bit too crispy, at least to my taste. I'm not sure if this was a one-off issue or if this is how they always make the bread. I would have preferred the focaccia to be quite a bit softer, but maybe that's just my personal preference. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but it was a very hot day so I stayed inside with the air conditioning. The place is really clean with some nice decor. The experience was really good, and I would certainly recommend this as a great sandwich shop with excellent Italian ingredients. I'll just hope for softer focaccia next time.
