I agreed and gave a deposit same day. They worked all around my home the following morning. The front yard- which has artificial grass BUT tons of weeds woven throughout. The back yard- which was completely overgrown and wild and the side yard+ side walk way (which were NOT walkable with how much the thorny bushes and weeds took over). Im super happy with their work. They are VERY thorough/ meticulous. They even hauled away the extra weeds/ grass that didn't fit in the green bin. I paid the remaining amount after they finished. These guys are terrific. Called them 2 days before and they happened to have an opening to cut and prune trees, hedges, bushes and plants. After getting our tiny front lawn practically decimated by gophers, we decided to give it one more try. Most of the houses in our neighborhood have gone to natives and while that may be the route down the road, wanted to keep this 400 square feet of lawn for a few more years. We had a guy highly recommended in the neighborhood for trimming trees come and start the project, however, he didn't know anything about laying sod, really, luckily for us, he abandoned the job in the cover of darkness, literally. He just left all our gardening tools, green bin, and sod, strewn all around the front. And he even absconded with our measuring tape and utility knife. It was time to hire a real pro. After getting three estimates, we decided to go with Francisco Bravo. Not only did he come in the cheapest, he had the most glowing reviews as well. We usually go with the middle of the road, but the amount of stellar reviews steered us towards choosing Bravo's. What I liked about Francisco's crew was the fact that they paid attention to detail, even when no one was watching. To clear the old sod out, they made sure every little weed, grass, and earthworm was removed. The project involved laying down gopher wire, to help alleviate the gopher problem, and I was concerned that after they laid down the wire, they wouldn't put a thin layer of topsoil. When I brought this up to Francisco, he just texted back, "Yes, all under control." I swear, if he sounded annoyed that I was telling him how to do his job, he masked it pretty well. They did this, as assured. We can't be happier and more satisfied. Francisco's crew were really professionals at their work. Just the nicest guys, too, especially Gregorio and Merton. We have a tiny lawn area, but it looks like a million bucks. I appreciated that Francisco gave me two choices for sod. I also appreciate that he shopped locally, Bee Green in Oakland. Bravo's also does other work. Look at their pictures of previous projects, to get an idea of their vast expertise. Francisco is a man of few words, but he knows what he's doing and he has the quiet confidence of a man who has many years of experience. I also watched him with his crew, and he's kind and respectful to them as well. He also gets in there to work, mind you, but they're so good by themselves, that they didn't need a lot of supervision. The next project would be a flagstone walkway in the back. By the way, Francisco will give you an estimate on the spot. He won't make you wait days. This absolutely helps as far as making a decision. we asked for a quote to mow our yard, while entire lot is 1/2 an acre, there is a 1300 sg ft house, long driveway and about 1/3 of the back yard is concrete. Front yard and side are small. he wanted $850.00 every 2 weeks to mow and trim the yard. once every 4 months the hedge along fence would need to be cut back. We laughed. You couldn't actually walk into the garden due to that extremely widely spread out tree with its branches reaching almost all 4 sides of my garden walls. Francisco came to view the tree and gave a free estimate. Had to do some calls to confirm the timing. He showed up with his crew and they quickly got to work. I hired Francisco to help me with a dirt removal/leveling project in my backyard. Our yard is all kinds of messed-up from a previous shed build (we had to dig up 6-8" of dirt for the foundation and left the dirt on the opposite side of the yard). He gave me a reasonable quote, and exceeded my expectations. I asked for him to remove the pile of dirt and level that area, but he ended up getting rid of the weeds around the rest of my yard and leveled out those area too! Dishonest fransciso bravo! NOT RECOMMENDED ! RUN AWAY I did.not meet him, but described what needs to be done. He cut only 1/3 and asked for payment. I thought that he intended me to pay him little bit ..but we agreed the whole lown for $120. When he tested me the small portion of the finished job at 7pm last night, I paid him $120 full without coming to my apartment. This morning, I camp by to find the truth!! I was appalled. My trust and good will in paying some garding workin people right away is completely chattered! And francisco said that I did not explain well. I can afford to lose $120. Very responsive and best rate among the quotes I got, but really poor maintenance work. I hired them originally for my spring clean up and they did a good job, so I had them come back for bi-monthly maintenance. Their second visit was much worse than the first. They left tons of debris behind, skipped areas, and didn't pull any weeds. They left without letting me know they completed the job. They were over two hours late to both appointments. I asked Francisco to come back, and to tell me the time they could be here. He promised to come, but offered no time. When he showed up, it was without notice and I wasn't home. He left without completing the work and hasn't returned any communication. I see others have had great experiences at a good price. I wish my experience was similar.
