I did my boudoir photo shoot with Elle to give to my husband for our anniversary. It was something I had thought about doing but never felt confident enough to do. SHE POSTED PARTIALLY NUDE PICS OF ME TO HER INSTAGRAM & LINKED THEM TO MY BUSINESS AFTER TELLING ME I COULD SIGN A SEPARATE MODEL RELEASE FORM SHE NEVER GAVE ME, SO I NEVER SIGNED. BUT I DID SIGN HER CONTRACT - BEWARE - THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU. * Her attorney sent me a cease-and-desist letter accusing me of extortion & defamation of character * Never received the release form to sign that she mentioned several times for consent of photo usage although it turns out it didn't matter - her contract owns Your pics forever * Took 24 Days for her first response, never got a response to my second complaint and 22 days to respond to the last one * I felt rushed and dissatisfied with my choices but her contract says she's not liable * Found out upon arrival that multiple shots we agreed to would not be possible * Because of her lack of communication I had no time to alter the plan therefore we ran out of time compensating for this which was predictable from my perspective * She also used some of my time discussing her personal plans with the make-up artist * Complained I didn't give her a 5-star review after I was upset w my experience * Communication was evasive and aloof at the onset and throughout * Wanted to handle everything through texting which made everything harder to explain * Let her animals out while still at her house even though she made a big deal about putting them away & cleaning for my allergies * I felt pressured to tip her * She didn't edit obvious mistakes in the photos of her own accord without being expressly told to do so including leaving the eyes blacked out without adding glare so they looked like demon eyes... I would love to give more than 5 stars if that was an option!! I'm a 53 year old woman and doing a boudoir photography session is SO OUTSIDE MY COMFORT ZONE! A friend of mine used Elle's services and her photos were beautiful so I decided to go for it. Vonda did an incredible job on my hair and makeup- super soft and pretty, and Elle's photography skills are off the charts! We all have body areas that aren't our favorites, and Elle put me at ease to give me the most gorgeous shots ever. I prefer a soft and pretty look, but she will do whatever you're comfortable with. And don't think that boudoir HAS to be lingerie... it can be anything you choose. For one set of pictures I was wearing my husbands dress shirt, a beautiful silk necktie of his, and my reading glasses, while I "pretended" to be reading a hardbound novel that Elle had on hand. For another I used one of his work blazers, and others I used lingerie that I felt comfortable and pretty in. She orders her books from Germany and they are OVER THE TOP GORGEOUS! I'm saving mine as a Christmas present for my husband, so he hasn't seen all the images yet, but he knows I did the shoot, and was not only supportive, but super appreciative and is excited to see the final product. My partner and I recently became engaged, and our families requested that we take professional photos for the announcement. We were nervous because neither of us had done a photo shoot before, and we're a "non-traditional" couple (queer, mixed race, plus sized, and generally alternative). We were afraid that if we picked any random photographer, we might end up with someone who was uncomfortable or inexperienced working with a couple like us, so we did a lot of research. We decided on Elle because she was one of the only photographers in the area whose gallery included shots of LGBTQ couples, people of color, people of diverse sizes, and women in strong poses. We knew she was experienced and that we'd have our best chance of feeling safe and understood with her. We also loved her goddess photos and felt that they expressed something similar to our vision of an image capturing the way we empower each other as a couple and as women. In short, we made the right choice. Our photos turned out beautiful, and the shoot was our favorite part of our vacation in Vegas. But most importantly, we felt comfortable being vulnerable because Elle really listened to us, communicated everything incredibly well, and made us feel supported and empathized with throughout the process.
