WOW. Looked all over for a newborn photographer as I have photographer friends out of state that were helping me decide on someone. I found Marie Grantham Photography on yelp and knew that she was the one for my photos. After speaking to her I made sure to book her. It is smart to book newborn photos far in advance so that you can get a date near your delivery date so you can get those tiny tiny sweet photos. She required a small deposit to book the date. I ended up having to reschedule the date a few days later than originally planned as my son was in the NICU, but it was not a problem. The studio is a small studio in the back of a hair salon. There is a waiting area for the adults while she works her magic with your newborn. We did take some family photo as well and I was amazed on how Marie is able to quiet and keep the baby so sleepy and good. She really had a good touch. She has a ton of different props that were interesting and was able to work in a sentimental prop that we had brought as well. The photos came out beautiful. We really couldn't be happier. We had our daughter's smash cake (1st year) photo session with Marie, the pictures were very nice, she is very talented in what she does. Unfortunately, the process to get those pictures taken was very chaotic. She was supposed to provide the cake, which she didn't because my daughter was allergic to eggs, therefore she didn't want to compromise due to health issues.. this I understand, therefore, I paid for my own cake to bring it to the photo session. The day of the shooting was Saturday 9:30am and at 9:00 am, I get a call from her saying that the balloons for the photo prop she had burst , and that she didn't have any left, so I had to rush to a Party Store to get the balloons. Long story short, I ended up bringing 1/2 of the items needed for the photo session, didn't get a discount and did most of the work for her. So I felt like she put very little interest in our session, this was a stressful and very disappointing experience. read more

Yo... One of the best decisions for us was getting Marie to be our wedding photographer. She is amazing, and I'm not just talking about the quality of her work. We (my husband and I with our entire wedding party) were seriously impressed with how she handled us all, and was more than a team player. When I say "team player," I mean she like went above and beyond in making us all happy. She freakin' worked 8 hours for our wedding day, put up with a rowdy a** crowd (AKA our wedding party), got in and around hectic events and made it all epic in the photos, and drove to multiple locations for us. Over 700 photos, and I end up liking 500-600 of those! Say what...?! After my previous review, we ordered our engagement photo prints from her, and they are slightly more expensive than printing it out yourself, but it all came out to be really good quality. No pixels seen. Hahaha! Whatever dude! So long as it turns out beautiful to be seen by family and friends! Okay, know how I brought up rowdy? Well, my husband and I had about 16+ (including our parents) in our wedding party to handle/coordinate poses with. Shyeah... Then during the reception, she had to deal with about 115+ guests. She managed to capture all the candid poses I was hoping for, such as photographing my husband's hometown tradition of singing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" at weddings. She ducked in and around circles of our reception belting that tune out. I think I might've seen someone accidentally hit her as she was moving between people - sorry! We appreciate the hard work you put in! Y'all are probably wondering about pricing at this point, so I'll make this clear: send an inquiry/request for a quote from Marie first. We asked her to photograph our wedding after she did our engagement photos, and I think she might've put that into one large package. However, we paid over that "package" because we requested an additional 4 hours, which was $150/hour. Is she worth it? Of course! read more

I saw some of Marie's work on her web page, liked it, and she had reasonable prices, so I booked her for our holiday photos. I was interested in a 'Vegas' or city-type theme. Marie said she had never done a family shoot like that before, but was definitely open to the idea. On the day of the shoot, our 2 girls weren't exactly in a photo-taking mood. Marie still got a lot of great shots, was super patient, and took us to all sorts of different locations with fun, Vegas-y backgrounds. Afterwards, she did a great job with the photo editing - I got a couple great ones for our Christmas card and to hang on the wall. Marie is without a doubt "as good as it gets!" I did plenty of online research trying to find a photographer for my maternity shoot; I wanted something 'out-of-the-box' and very unique (not in a studio). I ran across some beautiful photos my friend had done, which turned out to be Marie's work. Marie did our family holiday photos as well as my engagement photos. Our pictures turned out amazing. She made us feel comfortable and it turned out be such a fun day. I worked with Marie and found out she was doing photography. After seeing some of her work, my fiancé at the time, decided to have our engagement photos done by her. It was a short 1/2 hour session at the Neon museum. I appreciated the fact that she set up our appointment and got us the locals discount (thank goodness). Marie was great at giving us direction and took lots of great shots. Just wish we had a longer session with maybe a change of clothing. We first met Marie for our newborn photos. We were a hot mess when we arrived, we didn't realize we were taking some family shots as well. I had no makeup on and huge bags under my eyes since we just came home from the NICU a week ago. My husband had on the largest Nike print t-shirt. We were totally unprepared. But Marie convinced us to take the family photos anyways. She made them black and white, and somehow hid the crazy logo on my husband's shirt. The photos we didn't want to take are some of our favorite photos of our family. Marie is truly a professional, she keeps you in the loop at all times. We started using Marie when we did my daughter's newborn pictures. Being a new mom I was so nervous about the newborn pictures with not knowing what to expect. Marie was so patient and understanding with all the outfit changes, props, and a baby that didn't want to sleep. In the end we got the shots and ended up with so many wonderful pictures. I have gone to her for both of my daughters newborn photos (21 months apart) and have had an amazing experience both times. She did her best to accommodate dates which is important with babies having their own agendas, and made the entire experience from booking to receiving images almost seamless. Marie provided everything from how to prepare your newborn for their photo shoot to the wraps and props they wear in photos. All you need to do is follow instructions and show up! She has a beautiful lounge room where you can relax and take a nap (you know an hour nap is everything when you have a newborn) with a window looking in to the adjoining photography room so you can take a peek at baby whenever you want! My husband and I have had Marie take our photos from the start! From when were just dating, my own personal shots, onto our engagement photos, and I definitely plan to use her for all of the other major events in our lives. We had our first shoot in Nelson's Landing on a very cold winter day and it was a blast! She knew exactly how to keep us comfortable and still get the shots that we both wanted. She let my husband incorporate one of his guns (I had to do anything to have him agree to do the photo shoot with me) and it turned out AMAZING! We even had that one enlarged to display in our house. My personal shoot took place in downtown Las Vegas. She has a great eye for amazing shots and is so creative! She made sure I was always comfortable where we were and I get to use those photos as head shots for job applications, etc. Our engagement shoot is a whole different story... BEST PHOTOS EVER!!! Her work is always the best, but this time Marie went above and beyond! We had our photos taken in Lake Mead. That's right... IN the lake. It was late fall, I needed engagement pictures ASAP to have printed for our wedding which was in 4 weeks! She fit us into her schedule, suggested unique ideas, and took us out to the lake! Those photos are breathtaking. I honestly have no words to describe how much we loved them. She even let my husband incorporate his guns AGAIN and worked them into the shoot. Somehow, she turned an amazingly romantic sunset, reflecting on the beautiful water with mountains in the background, into some sort of fighting scene with my husband and I emerging from the water with giant guns. After searching for weeks online for the perfect photographer (who was still reasonably priced), my husband and I booked a session with Marie. We wanted pictures for our son's 1 year "cake smash" and asked her to include some family photos, as well.
