I used to come here for a long time. During the months I can come in during non-peak hours, it goes fairly quick and the girls working there are great. They are always kind. However, if I have to come in 4-closing or on weekends the wait time can be really long. I waited 45 minutes for an eyebrow wax. Ashley at the front desk is super sweet and helpful, all the girls working are professional and great at what they do. This is a women owned business and it's top of the line. Last time I went in I got a Youth Facial with Sonia and it was incredible. She explained every product and their Image line is so amazing. I also recently tried their aqua hydration station (this is a hot wet cocoon and after your skin is soft, hydrated and you feel so good), beauty shaper collagen tower (the floor has three settings and shakes while you get red light therapy), the massage chair is amazing and speaks for its self! I also did both tanning beds and they gave me a lovely golden glow. Everything is super clean, little towels, robes and eye wear depending on what you choose. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about the machines and clearly explains how to use them, which is easy. Press a button and get in the machine. I used to come here for a while. Though I felt like the girls were pretty rough when waxing. Yet I know waxing mildly hurts but it should never hurt that bad. I ended up looking for another waxer elsewhere due to this reason, you never really got the same person to wax you and I understand most of the time they want to rush you through. I do love my now waxer and honestly my waxes do not hurt anymore. I think the girls working here need more training. read more

They used to be so good at service here. Now they act like entitled b's. They pressure you to tip,but dont give you any other option to tip except cash and then they look at you ugly because you dont want to drive to the store and get cash and comeback. They say walk-in available but they turn you away even when the waiting room is empty. It looks like a goodwill in there now. When you ask why there is no other option for a tip they say because they should not be taxed on tip money (this was said by their front office staff) which is againt the law because if i have to pay taxes they should also pay taxes. Dont go here the girls in the front are rude. The managers response is a lie. I never demanded to be seen right then and there. It is false advertising when they say walk-ins available but are trying to force you to make an appt. I did as i always have done for years and simply walked in to get a wax. Usually you are told you can be seen but will have a wait time but this time the rude girl was demanding i make an appt instead. I have been going there for years and have ALWAYS been seen as a walk in, even when the waiting room was full. Again they dont like it when you dont give a tip,thats when they started being even more rude but dont give ANY other option to tip.If they cannot afford the credit card merchant prices then why do they charge the customer for using their credit card. The service here has gone way down. As other reviewers have said they are extremely rude in the front. The estheticians are always nice. And the manager that posted the response is one of the rude girls im talking about. And yes it does look like a goodwill thats why i said it. And when you ask for a different esthetician because in the past i have had some that have burned me, you are told you cannot choose a esthetician its just whoever you get. So you are forced to get the same one that hurt you in the past. They have reallt bad customer service here in the last few years. I had a wonderful first time experience at this wax boutique. I was greeted immediately by the nice woman at the front desk. Checking in was very easy. I had to sign a consent form prior to my wax stating I understood what I was going to do. I also had a photo taken of me for my file. The lobby has very comfortable seating, and a little shop area with a lot of skin and accessory products. It also smells nice inside. I did not wait long at all. The woman who waxed me (I believe was named Valerie) was very sweet and reassuring, as it was my first time getting a Brazilian done. She was very professional, and she educated me very well on follow up care. Check out was a quick and easy process. The woman at the front reviewed products with me, and recommended I got something for my aftercare, which I did. The staff made me feel as if I can call them if needed, and that I'm welcome back any time for spa or other waxing needs. I already scheduled my return in 4 weeks. Its hard for me to give bad review because Michelle, the person that waxed me was super awesome, but I feel like I have let people know why this place warrants a bad review. I've been here on and off for about 7 or 8 years or so, and with the pandemic, I don't go anywhere, I don't want to put my 80+ year old grandma that is in hospice at risk. Since Gov. Newson lifted our second lockdown, I though I do something for myself because I won't be seeing my grandma for at least 2 or so week so I could stay away and not go anywhere then see her again once I knew I won't put her at risk. I looked up on Yelp to see how this place was doing, and the reviews were bad lately, so I past. I called Dare to go Bare, The Wax Room, and European Wax center, no one was taking appointments for at least two weeks or till the following Monday, one said they had a small waiting room and they could only let people one at a time due to Covid (good for you!) I thought I try this place again because I've been here a hand full of times and they were always great to me, and maybe the other reviews were not accurate. I called and the receptionist said they had a 4:00 pm, 4:15 pm, 4:30, and 5 pm. I said I'll take the 4:30. I showed up not as early as I wanted to, I showed up 4:25 pm, I wanted to be there at 4:15 pm, but kids prevented that, still I was early by 5 minutes. I signed in, signed the waiver and proceeded to find a place to wait, there are 3 chairs, 6 feet apart ( good for them) but there was 5 women there and I, myself had to stand along with one other women. I stood by the door not blocking it, but I moved anytime a receptionist had to tell Michelle who was next and when she went to clear a room, it was so awkward and after about 15 minutes, I realized they OVERBOOKED! We pretty much had an appointment around the same time and only Michelle was the only waxer (poor Michelle!) After about 15 minutes there, 3 other women showed up, and there were still the original 5 of us... After about 30 minutes, 2 more people showed up, one guy and a women. My husband called asking if I was almost done, and I said I think so because 2 of the original were already called. My husband said our daughter has to pee and I asked if my daughter could use their restroom, and I wasn't sure if they would yes or no because they have strict no children policy ( very fair and understandable, places like this is no place for children) and with covid and everything. They surprisingly said yes! For anyone who has kids this one of the kindest thing you can do is let a child use your restroom so thank you very much!! After taking my daughter to the rest room around the 45 minutes mark, we came out of the restroom, and 3 more people showed up and they had to open the door because we were spilling out of their already small waiting room, by the way, at this point it was hard to keep 6 feet apart. It was already a hard with 5 people, then 8 people, now11people! I walked my daughter to her dad and walked back, while making my way through about 6 people; the receptionist said I was next, and I looked at my watch, IT's 5:20 FOR MY 4:30 APPOINTMENT! My actually experience with Michelle was great; she was fast and super personable, she made the experience great! 5 STARS for Michelle. Unfortunately I can only give this place no more than 2 starts. The wait was ridiculous, we are in a pandemic, you over booked and had at least 12 people in a small confined waiting room, that's so irresponsible of you, in a world where people are dying and struggle you didn't make my waiting experience any easier, if anything you made me anxious about being around so many people I didn't know. Why couldn't you be like Dare to Bare or Wax Room or European Wax center? They told me no because they truly were try to be good and turn business away for the sake of everyone's health, as much as I like Michelle and how grateful I am that you let my daughter use your restroom, thank you again, I CAN NOT SUPPORT A BUSINESS THAT OVER BOOKED DURING A PANDEMIC AND MADE 12 PLUS PEOPLE WAIT IN A SMALL WAITING AREA, MAKING IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP A 6 FEET DISTANCE. WHEN PEOPLE ARE DYING AND STRUGGLE I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PLACE FOR PUTTING THE 12 PLUS PEOPLE THIS SITUATION. To end things as I was leaving and paying; the women that showed up 15 minutes after me, said she had an appointment at 4:45 and she had to cancel because she had dinner reservation at 6. It was 5:37, the receptionist dared asked her if she was sure and that there were only 2 people ahead of her, she said no thank you and left. First time going in here and went in for a facial. Let me just say the facial was amazing!! The gal that gave me my facial was super sweet and gentle and made it so relaxing! Almost fell asleep. Only down side was that i was not told they charge $1.50 for using your card (kind if ridiculous if you ask me, everywhere everyone used cards now a days) and i wasn't told ahead if time to bring cash for a tip. I was in desperate need of some "me time" today and found this boutique through Instagram hashtags! They were quickly able to get in me in for a same day appointment and I took advantage of the special they we're running. After check in, I was quickly seen to my room my Michelle R. Literally the sweetest person I could have ever met! She made me feel so comfortable and was so easy to talk to. The room made me feel like I was in a fancy resort spa and helped me forget all my problems. Seriously the best Esthetics/spa I've ever been to! So after three attempts to go and get my eyebrows waxed I finally gave up and decided it's time to write my review, again this is just my personal experience. The boutique itself is so cute and clean doing everything possible to make it work covid style, 5/5 the 3 people I have had so my eyebrows just didn't work for me I don't know if it was just them or me not explaining myself well but they could never get them just how I would like and I've explained. I love the waiting room. It's very clean, organized & has a ton of cute & useful products. It's a beautiful little boutique right when you walk in. The rooms that you will have a wax in are also very bright & clean. I received a Brazilian & it only took about 10 minutes total. So the wow factor for time is a 10/10. I loved how quick it was. However, it feels like a rushed appointment & there were some hairs left behind. I think taking a few more minutes to tweeze & remove the rest of the hairs would be beneficial & cause for a 5/5 review. But the service itself wasn't 100%. Came in for one of the Facial Specials and wasn't disappointed. Erica was the esthetician and explained everything she was putting on my face and why. She also patiently answered all my questions. The receptionist was welcoming and I never felt rushed or pressured to purchase any products. There are lot of products and gift items available for sale in the large waiting area. This was my second time to Brazilian Wax Boutique. Although the front was spacious and clean with welcoming staff the services are lacking. Both times the waxologist who welcomed me were very nice but seamed rushed. First thing I noticed was an open clearly used cleansing wipes bag container... very unsanitary to use something someone has put their hands in. Also there was no cover square. Although I'm not the shy type it would be nice to have something to cover yourself for when the waxologist opens the door to come in. *Tip: Have individual cleansing wipes and covering square ready on waxing SPA bed for guest. Both times the Waxologist were nice and kept the conversation going but like before they were rushed One mentioned they are paid per wax and it clearly shows. If I could give this 0 stars I would , my husband needed his eyebrows done & so I was on yelp trying to look for places with good reviews & I was calling to check the prices some said 10 others 15 & so I told my husband let's try this place out because it was in the nicer side of town & you pay what you get for so they might be really good so then I was a walk in and had no appointment (wasn't aware I had to make a appointment) and it was very little wait for the service I was going for and the receptionist was very nice & friendly which was awesome.... as I was waiting for my husband in the car he shows me his eyebrows and they look just as thick with no type of arch (shape) & whoever was doing his brows burned the entire skin needless to say I won't be coming here again or recommending this place to anyone read more

First off, could this place be any cuter?! The walls, the clocks, the chairs, the pictures - everything matches and looks darling like it could be someone's super hip apartment. And everything is spotless clean. There wasn't even dust anywhere, let alone some of the other messes you can sometimes find in a spa. Went for the full Brazilian wax and it was over in, no joke, probably 10 minutes. When I called to make the appointment I was offered a numbing cream if I wanted to come in 15 minutes early and for an extra $5. I declined because I'm so used to waxings that it ain't no thang, but if you are a first timer it's not a bad idea at all. So zip zip zip, a few tweezings, popped out an ingrown and the wax was done. I heard Prince, Kylie Minogue and Wham on the overhead music and that was it, time to get dressed and be on my way. The wax was the perfect temperature and everything came off clean as a whistle. And on top of all that, it was only $35. It wasn't the least painful wax I've ever had, but it was over so quick that I hardly had time to react. Always a good thing. Didn't catch the receptionist's name, but she was an absolute doll and also very friendly. So not only is this place complete eye candy and totally affordable, the staff are all super sweethearts. So glad that I decided to try Brazilian Wax Boutique! Such a beautiful place. When you walk into the boutique area you are greeted by the receptionist and she checks you in. If you have to wait for service there are tons of goodies to browse, if not you can have a seat in their comfy seating. The wax rooms are absolutely beautiful and elegant. I love all the decor and the whole aesthetic. They are very hygienic and everything is super clean and organized. They do not double dip in their wax. I got a Brazilian wax ($45) and I am always so scared of getting them but I had Michelle and she was excellent it was very painless and fast. I also got some goodies they recommended to help with care and upkeep. The products were a little pricey but it's seems like they will last a few months. Also your body is your temple, so taking extra care of it is never a bad thing. I really liked the fact that they were able to schedule me my next appointment right on the spot and even sent me a reminder text and email. I'm not new to brazilian waxes, but yesterday was my first time here and it was my first time to be waxed in under 5 minutes, which wasn't a good thing. I have never had my pores bleed after a wax until here. They start by applying oil; this wax was so fast and painful, I was shocked when I was handed a wet cloth to wipe the blood from myself, it was a lot and I feel worried. Next day and more than a few of my pores are red enlarged bumps and look like white heads which doesn't happen to me either, i'm wondering if it's because of the oil. I've been coming here since 2012 and have yet to be disappointed. If something does come up that I'm not satisfied with the staff and management has been more than accommodating. This past year though, I moved and every time I visit I make an appointment. Despite thinking I would find similar services elsewhere, I have not. I was a long time customer when two visits ago I was asked if I wouldn't mind having a new person who was in training do my waxing, being assured an experienced person would supervise. I agreed, after all we all have to start somewhere. There was no quality assurance and and the results were not satisfactory and being a guinea pig for the new person didn't come with a price reduction. On my next visit, I was the first person in the shop, signed in first and then had to watch the two women that had come in after me get taken back first. The "new person" from the time before then came out for me, she had not improved her abilities and left patches of hair. This showed me they have double standards for men and women. They charge men more for the Brazilian and then make them wait for substandard service. I have found a new place and will never return. read more

I have been to this place twice,the receptionist are always nice and friendly, I didn't wait to only before being called towards the back room, I filled out some forms, I approximately waited 20 min then was called back amazing esthetician by the name of Michelle (sorry if I spelled your name wrong), she's always making sure I feel comfortable, her hands are amazing when she's giving me a neck and shoulder massage. So I've been coming here to get waxed for a long time (almost 6 years). This place has changed a lot but one thing that has always remained the same is the cleanliness. I originally started going to their downtown location., eventually they closed that one down and just kept this one, which ended up being perfect because I live near this one now. The prices have gone up over the years but I've stayed loyal. Tips: 1. Make an appointment and don't cancel last minute or you'll have to pay a 24hrs or less cancellation fee. 2. Show up like 5 mins till' (unless you're doing the numbing prior then your I might need to show up a bit earlier) they are on point when it comes to appointments. I've never dealt with them being behind...ever! 3. Wear a dress/skirt, something easy so you don't entirely feel naked... because you are half naked lol. 4. Make conversation with them. They are super friendly while waxing you and the time goes by quicker when you are engaged in a conversation with your esthetician. 5. Bring cash to tip your esthetician when you pay. They use to allow you to charge it on the card but not anymore. 6. It's going to hurt but it's so worth it! Be consistent with the appointments and I promise it gets easier. I'd give them five stars but the only reason I didn't is because they don't allow you to request a certain esthetician and the price boom that's occurred over time. Other than that this should be your go-to wax shop! They also offer great after care products. read more

I've been a customer of theirs for 12 years. I have gone religiously every 5 weeks except for the eight weeks after giving birth two separate times. I love the staff but their customer service has gone WAY downhill the past 6 months. There is an exceptionally long wait time every time I go-- averaging about an hour. I kept going in the hopes it would improve but it hasn't. When I called to discuss the situation they assured me my extended wait times were due to me coming in the evenings. I went today at 3:30 and wasn't called back until 4:22. They continue to overbook with no regard for their regular clients. I will not be going back and if you don't have time to wait I suggest you go elsewhere as well. I'll be trying Parlor Waxing next week who assured me their absolute longest wait time is 15 minutes. read more

The receptionist was not even polite. I informed her, when I was waiting at 45 min, if it was going to be much longer, n she stated no, I was next. I informed her I needed to be somewhere in 30 min. N she stated, oh, I had plenty of time. With attitude. So i sat back down. N 32 min later they call the next client, that wasnt ME!!! I went to her n said to cancel my appt. This place is a joke! I've been a regular patron for years and complied with all of their policies and thankfully have never violated their precious rules, but today I had an appointment and when I get there they tell me they have to have me sign a new form and take my photo. I said, "ok, I'll take it, read over it and get it back to you next time." She says the form is salon property and they will refuse service if I don't comply and take a photo. They expect me to sign off on yet another ridiculous policy without giving me a copy of what I signed??? This place first thinks they're a doctor's office or something with their no-show fees, now they think they're a financial institution with their claims to identity theft. Even financial institutions don't take your photo. You're a waxing salon, get over yourself! I kindly asked to get my service done this time since they didn't give me forewarning of this new policy beforehand and they said no. It was bluntly put: either sign or no service. No time to read over and consider your own legal rights. I'm tired of this place pushing me against a wall every time they make a change. I felt bullied today. Can someone answer this question please: Who's going to steal an identity to get a wax?? This whole thing doesn't sound right to me. I own a business and my customers come first. After probably 7 years of being a loyal customer, this was how I was treated. Change your prices, fine. Increase your no-show fees, cool. But take my photo for "your records?" WTH? That's fine. It's your business, you do what you want. I don't feel comfortable with you keeping a file on me or having my photo; therefore, I've taken my business elsewhere. It concerns me that you even have clients who would go to lengths to create fake contracts or that you would have identity theft issues. Could it be your stringent rules or lack of customer consideration that they would feel the need to disguise their identities to avoid a $50 late fee if they're past your generous 3 minute grace period? No joke, your receptionist once told me you only allow a 3 minute grace period before charging a late fee. In my opinion, it doesn't seem like it should be this complicated. I get hair "ripped out of my body" at other places and they don't feel the need to keep "personal files" on me or anyone else. You charge a fee for a service you provide each time the service is rendered. I still don't see the sense in having a photo on file like a gym would keep to make sure the whole neighborhood isn't abusing one membership. Like I said, it's your business, run it however you wish. Not very excited about their policies. I get it, it's your business, you can run it however you want and if you don't like it, go somewhere else. They force you to sign a form (waiver) and take a picture to keep in their records. There's no discounts, no first time service incentive, just take a picture because if you no show on a visit, they'll charge you a NO-Show fee next time you come. I've been getting Brazilian waxes done for years, both using hard and soft wax. It's one of those "painful, but doable" things. I recently moved to Bakersfield from LA and away from my usual waxer. I was impressed by the cute little space the studio was in and the fact they were able to get me in the same afternoon! (One star given!) When they said the wax took 15 minutes I was pretty surprised - usually it takes a minimum of 30 minutes if they're doing a decent job. I used the "numbing" cream beforehand. It didn't help much at all, but I wasn't really expecting it to! The waxer was very sweet and made me feel comfortable. (One star given!) However, she ripped the strips to the point where I started feeling incredible irritation on my legs and more sensitive areas. I've never had a waxing experience where I've been almost crying! When I got home, I followed the usual instructions of no sweating, cleaning well, etc., although developed welts and skin tears from the extreme pulling of the strips. I've never experienced that before in probably the 60 times I've gotten waxed in the past. They're painful and look horrible! I would absolutely never return to Brazilian Wax Boutique and would warn others away - just because they're fast doesn't mean that they're good! :-( read more

I have been to this place twice. The receptionists were always nice and friendly, however, I was not happy with the pricing. The first time I went there, I had gotten my full face waxed and they had charged me $30 which is the price listed on there. The second time I went there, they charged me an additional $20 for the same service I had gotten last time, which is the full face wax. It ended up costing me $50 instead of $30 what I was suppose to be charged. The esthetician did not inform me that there would be additional charges for the forehead and sideburn area. When I questioned the payment at the receptionist she informed me that the full face wax did not include the forehead and sideburn area. Full face should cover everything, the forehead and sideburns are still part of the face! I paid the $50, was extremely disappointed and left. I will not be going back to this boutique again, and I recommend that you find other wax boutiques unless you don't mind getting ripped off! read more

They don't care about anything unless their payment. It was supposed to be free after ten times, but exactly at the end of December (when I expected to be free) they told that this is not valid anymore, without any warning before, But they will charge you $25 if you cancel your appointment. I will never do my wax here. ****I cancelled my appointment, but they charged. again And, The problem is that they don't have any policy to support their costumers, even if they were supposed to give a free wax section after 10 times, Exactly on my 10 section,they told me this policy has been cancelled exactly 2 days ago!!!
