To us, it is the *most* important thing you can spend money on for a wedding. Period. We had actually chosen a photographer (slightly out of our budget) hailing from Bellingham, but she had to cancel on us because she found out she was pregnant. We were crushed, but then... we found Laurel. :) Her website is fantastic, but she absolutely won me over with her personality! By our third email, I felt like we were old friends. When we met her in person, we just knew she was going to "get" us. She specializes in photojournalistic photography, which, in my opinion, is the only way to go for weddings. Just look at her site. We had three other photographers we were looking into, but Kerry stood out to us by far, with her unique style and brightened pictures. Not to mention the price for her beautiful photography was far under that of the other wedding photographers. We started planning our photos with her early on, because my husband and I were studying abroad for the year in England, but she was so flexible with us! We chatted with her on the phone multiple times, she was timely in replying to emails, and she was so enthusiastic! You can really see she loves doing her job, which shows in the pictures. During the actual wedding, we couldn't even tell she was there most of the time (which I think is a good thing). Besides the standard couple, wedding party and family pictures, she was invisible to the crowd and wasn't making her presence overly known. When we got our wedding photos back, I was so amazed she got us dancing because I never even noticed her. What I think was amazing was that she captured all of the moments shared that day, between the goofy faces my husband and I made, to a moment of silence for my mother, to us hugging guests after the family photos were done. It was so amazing. She also did something that I have never heard of, which I LOVED. She took us away at sunset to do sunset pictures. These were by far our best pictures of the night and I am so glad we got to do this! These will be the pictures that we hang up in our house. After the wedding was over, the next day she started posting sneak peeks on facebook and instagram, which got me so excited! They were amazing! And within two weeks, we had all 600 pictures! She printed off 50 pictures for us, gave us this beautiful flash drive and a very heart felt card! When we got a look at all of the pictures, we were not disappointing. We were instantly in love with all of them. The brightness of the pictures really brought out the colorfulness of our wedding (coral, yellow and orange colors) and made them look amazing. Kerry, as a person to work with, was so nice and very professional. She was really fun to talk to, and also made us feel comfortable when posing (because we have never posed in front of a camera like that). Overall, we could not have wished for a better person to take our pictures. She was truly unique and a very professional photographer. We will look back on our wedding pictures forever and always be happy with the way they turned out.
