We stopped in today to check out the Baking Company and Bread Kneads. What an impressive stop! Between the food and the customer service our experience was top notch! We had a Tuna Salad sandwich with Potato Salad as well as Bologna Sandwich with Pasta Salad. Both meals were amazing fresh and full of flavor. The s'mores cupcake for desert was without words. The flavors exploded in your mouth. The greatest impression was the staff. They were so helpful in explaining the menu, and even suggesting options. This demonstrated to us both a love for the business itself yet also for their patrons. They truly appreciated each individual that walked through the door. The food was probably only worth three stars however, the local feel of the place makes up for the lack of excitement over the food. They have an adorable spot and seem to be very supportive of local business in the area. The restaurant itself is pretty bare bones, but nothing wrong with that as it is probably more of a take-out place. They do have a few tables though. Create your own cold cut sandwiches as well as some pre-packaged salad options. I had a turkey & salami with veggies (they have sprouts!) and a cup of spinach/artichoke soup. The soup was "souper" (hahaha) creamy & comforting on a chilly day. The sandwich was good, just nothing mind blowing. Cold cuts were good quality, bread was a touch on the dry side. I have been eating at this establishment since I was a kid. It never gets old and their sandwiches are what I always come for. They have this pesto mayo that I'm addicted to and their cracked wheat bread is always so delicious. The only thing I don't really recommend there to eat is the cookies. I'd give them a 3 out of 5 stars. They're not gross. But I've had better cookies elsewhere. I highly recommend their sandwiches and bread. read more

I grew up in Findlay and every time I am back in town I stop into Bread Kneads! Famous for their butter flake rolls and super fresh treats, it never disappoints! Fantastic cookies, orange blossom rolls and perfectly prepared deli sandwiches. So happy this Findlay staple is still going strong! read more

I've been frequenting Bread Kneads for quite some time now and have very few complaints. They have a nice variety of items and the service is always friendly and typically prompt. My only criticism is in regard to the quality of their cookies, which I believe are quite inconsistent. It's hit or miss whether or not the cookies I purchase will be fresh, even early in the morning. I'm often disappointed to find that their cookies are crumbly and hard, which makes me wonder if they're attempting to pass off day-old cookies as fresh ones, even though they have a rack for day-old items. The chocolate chip cookies are also quite lacking when it comes to the amount of chocolate chips found in each cookie. Their cookies are quite flat and somewhat large, so there will be two or three bites per cookie where I can't actually taste any chocolate. Other than the cookies, I've been consistently happy with my purchases from Bread Kneads. It's a great place to visit if you're looking to shop locally. read more

After hearing rave reviews about this is the place to be for bread, we had to go! When we stepped inside, we were greeted with a full "day old bread" rack. I love to shop the day old bread rack whenever I get the chance and many stores are no longer keeping up with the tradition. All of the bread there was really hard (it literally did not have any give when touched), so I figured it was all stale bread to be used for animals. We waited in line to order a garlic knot and a pecan muffin. Two very simple, hard to screw up things. We took them out to my car and took one bite. One bite in and we threw them away. It was the most dense bread I have ever had. Even my animals (chickens and turkeys) had a hard time tearing it apart because of how tough it was. I had to hold it for them to be able to bite into it. I ended up having to tear it apart for them. The only person that was really interested in the food was the cat. He really wanted the pecan muffin but had a hard time biting into it and gave up on it. Both the pecan muffin and garlic knot was very bland as well. On a scale of bread, we both ranked it as worse of the worse. The prices were astronomical as well. I believe bread loaves ran from $5-$10 per loaf. Everything there was just a turn off. Cute shop, just everything was bad. Save your money and just go to Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart market breads are much better. If buying your bread from Wal-Mart is a turn off, then try to find a different bakery. Maybe even try making a "quick ciabatta" whenever you think about coming here. Even if you screw up on your own bread loaf, you will not be out so much money and it will still be better. You've been warned. read more
