I am a visitor to Findlay as a corporate employee based elsewhere, and I'm not sure I'll ever remember that you don't pay until you get the food. No amount of individual recycling can touch the impact of a place like this rolling out archaic styrofoam cups to the tune of cases a day. Stop it! There are other options! - food quality - errrrrm. Attached to the venerable Main Street Deli and Bakery, Main Street Deli BAR AND ARCADE, is an excellent expansion. Because it has the same owner and almost the same name, I'm not 100% sure that the BarCade deserves its own Yelp page, but MSDBaA is different enough from MSDaB that I'm reviewing it as an independent business. The games: For just the games? I'd give MSDBaA 3 to 4 stars. The selection is pretty standard stuff. They're missing some of the 80s blockbusters, but they have many of them. They also have several sleeper hits and a few games that never really made it over the top. All arcade games are set on free play all of the time! The 7 pinball machines are on set on free play on Thursday and Sunday, but are normally 1 dollar per play (standard for "new" games these days). This, obviously, is a great deal (on Sunday and Thursday). Most of the games are in pretty good shape, but none are in perfect condition. In the past, I've said that I'd rather pay to play a game that is in top condition, than play a free game with sloppy joysticks or buttons. This still holds true. Again, overall, the games ain't bad. The bar: The quality of the drinks and the beer selection makes up for the non-stellar game collection. The service: Excellent service from Andrew and Rachel. Both were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The Atmosphere: The atmosphere is fun and comfortable. Also, it's attached to a pretty good, albeit a little expensive, sandwich shop. Although I'd love to see a little more attention given the retro arcade games, in general this place is great; it's nice to have MSDBaA in Downtown Findlay. We were passing through Findlay on a Saturday afternoon and friend we know who grew up there recommended Main Street Deli for lunch. As the name suggests, this little spot is right in town but not terribly far from the interstate. It took us a few minutes to find parking, but the deli was easy to find. We ordered at the counter and settled in to a booth to wait for our food. It was really only then that we took in the whole restaurant. While it seemed local and quirky, we also quickly realized that it was just plain dirty. The floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years, trash bins were black and dirty halfway up the sides, kitchen staff were walking around with chunks of food on their shoes, etc. We actually contemplated just leaving, but it was clearly busy and we had been referred here by someone we trusted, so we stuck it out. The food we had was decent deli food. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either. The roast beef and pastrami sandwich I had was a generous portion and the bread seemed fresh. The prices are more than reasonable and they make everything in house. The best thing in the store is the marble rye bread. This is my favorite bread I've ever had. It's perfectly mixed with light and dark rye and softer than a pillow. I like to order sandwiches on this bread and have them grilled, it's really a unique tasty experience. The meat and cheese are stacked high, so each sandwich leaves you full and fulfilled! Chips and a pickle come with each order and I really love that. My favorite stop in Findlay so far. This looks like a spot for hipster to meet corporate Marathon Man along with family lunch crowd. I walked in and was greeted very kindly by the lady I now take to be the owner. I started looking up at the Chalkboard to realize that it was naming the breads and other things. Elaine quickly pointed me to the menu on the counter. The menu had a a variety of specialty sandwiches (5-6) to single meat sandwiches (4-5). Each sandwich comes with a pickle and chips. One can also substitute the chips for carrots, pretzels or be upcharged to get kettle chips or something else. I ordered the Hobo Joe on recommendation from Nate L. and I was not disappointed. I like Black Russian bread and it came warmed a little. I thought it was pretty good and would order it again. If you don't like sandwiches with lots of dressing or sauce then stay away from this. The sauce was dripping from the sides. I ordered the club on cracked wheat for the wife. She enjoyed the sandwich but it lacks the club staple Bacon. The cracked wheat was pretty good better than other wheat breads. The sandwiches were decent size and I would say good value for portion and taste. The staff was super friendly and answered all my questions. Behind the counter looked like a mess but that just showed dedication to pushing the product out and clean up later. I am hoping to stop back in here before I head out of Findlay. They also have coffee in the back which can by whole bean, ground, or by the cup.
