A quick downhill walk from the university, this place was a perfect stop for lunch. Good atmosphere and great food. Later in our trip we discovered there are multiple locations, this one was top shelf! The group ordered a whole mess of delicious plates: Angry bird (spicy chicken and cheese) Chicken and cheese Falafel Royale with cheese Chips Sweet potato fries Poutine Drunken oreo shake - wowza! This was one of my favorite casual meals during our trip. The service was fantastic and the food was even better. My chicken and cheese sandwich was absolutely delicious and not a crumb was left. I picked off my neighbor's poutine and it was soooo good. The burgers looked incredible. The hubs had a ridiculous drunken oreo shake and it was exactly as it should be - rich and boozy.

    Coming soon!

How have I not written a review of BMB West End? I've been several times. In my defence, I pass it EVERY DAY on the bus and the bus stop is right outside so, sometimes, it's rude not to!! Anyway, if you enjoy the food in the city centre branch, but think it's a bit loud, noisy and cramped then it's well worth hopping on the Subway (or get the Number 6 or 6A bus from the south side of George Square) to visit their new branch. It's a very different feel inside, a lot more mature and sophisticated I think, and a lot bigger so you can actually get a table to yourself rather than cramming onto a big bench! The menu is a little different too but based on the same principles of good local food, well cooked meats and 'if in doubt add bacon' (which, let's be honest, is never a bad thing). I'm not going to pick out a favourite item from the West End menu, suffice to say I'm still working my way through them, but I've yet to have a bad experience. And by that I mean from the minute you walk in the door to the minute you leave. The staff are good, they have their alcohol licence sorted now, the food is as tasty as ever (and if I'm being honest, I think it's better in this one than the city centre!), and the prices are bang on. Ohhh the only downside... I can't help but order too much food, every damn time! BUT IT'S SO TASTY!!!!! In short, this is one of the most reliably good places I know. If you are a meat eater, and you haven't been here yet (and you are on Yelp reading this) SHAME ON YOU!! Get here, get ordering, and enjoy!

Whenever I feel like eating a burger, for me there is only one place to go: Bread Meats Bread! So you guys can only imagine how happy I was when i found out that they were opening in the West End! I went with a couple of friend on the first day the opened to the public, Friday night. I was impressed by the interior, i really like how they decored the place, it is modern and welcoming and it is bigger than the branch in town - big thumbs up, as that hopefully means less queue lol. It was a busy night but we only waited ten minutes and then they showed our table. They still don't have the licence to sell alcohol, so only soft drinks and milkshakes were available. Also they didn't have a couple of sides (we wanted the mozzarella sticks) so we opted for sweet potato fries and crispy bacon chips - OMG so delicious. I then had the Great Western Wolf (cheese, bacon, spicy nduja and pulled pork) which was absolutely amazing! Overall, not disappointed at all, we waited a good half an hour but as i said, that was their first night so it is excusable, and the staff were all very nice and attentive. I am definitely going to be a regular customer!

We were expecting the pulled pork to have more sauce and cheese. It looks really good but wasnt as good. The fried were too big answe didn't like the gravy. Otherwise great service and place

Just what I expected! Obvious teething issues but sure they will sort them selves out in time. I will wait and return however.

These burgers are a bit pricey for their size but are loaded up with amazing, unique ingredients that definitely make this place stand out. Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had, honestly. Would have been nice if we could have specified how we wanted the burgers cooked but that's apparently a restriction put on all Scottish restaurants. The restaurant itself is very small, limited seating so might be best to take out!

(My previous review is for a wing pop up he did). Thanks to Austen, Trudie, Pammi & Ally, I had the inside scoop of which burger to order - they all said the Top Dog was the best. I was a little confused as I assumed that was a hot dog but nope, it's a burger. What's in it? Beef patty, double bacon, bone marrow, Roquefort butter, caramelized onion and black truffle mayo on the side. And it came with chips. There was a bit of a wait but we were drinking with friends so weren't too bothered. The burgers were nicely presented on a tray with the chips in a pot. Excellent chips and I really liked the black truffle mayo. The burger was obviously the highlight though - it was totally delicious. I actually don't eat too many beef burgers these days as I find a lot of them are overcooked and bland but this was heaven - perfectly cooked meat (rare) and the Roquefort was just the perfect match as it really gave the burger a punch. The combination of flavours was just perfect for me and I really enjoyed it. I've had some good burgers in my time and I really do mean it when I say this is right up there at the top. My only negative comment is really the pricing - £13.50 for a burger and chips is pretty hefty but I can also understand why as this is a special pop up burger which tastes amazing and obviously uses quality product. For me, I wouldn't have this burger every day but as a special occasion treat, hell yes.

We had the Oaxacan Ch*kn Tacos (tastes better than the bird version!), Quesa Birria Tacos and freshly made guacamole. You order at the bar from their Friendly staff. This was to be another venue for out Yelp Brunch Club. I have been really enjoying the meet ups and…read morethe people so was looking forward to hitting this Glasgow joint. Well, that's if I found the place, yup, I made the mistake and thought it was the 78 on St Vincent Street in town. Doh! I didn't double check, my bad?! This 78 is open unlike the one in town and also based in the Finnieston area of the West End. So once Ian M and I eventually made it we checked out their menu, with slightly embarrassed red faces no less. Hehe!! I hadn't realised this place was completely vegan, I thought they did a good selection a vegan/veggie dishes so this was an eye opener for this wee carnivore muncher. I do like to have meat free days so was happy to try and especially off their brunch/breakfast menu. I opted for the Weekend Breakfast with a pot of tea, as it sounded mighty tasty. I had decided to stick with tea unlike the jakies (other Yelpers) starting on a beer for breakfast. OK, so the breakfast, it had vegan sausages, baked beans, scrambled tofu, tattie scones and toast. I asked to have it with a tomato and mushrooms, not my favourite vegetable. Well it was an interesting taste and the tofu was weird and a bit green. I don't mind tofu but I think the texture/scramble and colour was just too weird for me. The sausages were nice but the toast was brick hard. It was massive slices of crusty bread toasted, it was impossible for me to eat so unfortunately I had to abandon. I got a real surprise moment with my tea as it was really sweet and I don't like sweet tea, I had double check if someone had snuck in sugar. I was then reminded we're in a vegan restaurant so no milk, soya only. Ahhhh! So overall it was an interesting experience, and that's not mentioning the banter. I do believe plane lap belt dancing was a topic. Hehe!! I don't know if I'd go back for the food, I really missed my meat and milk. I think if you're vegan and veggie you will love it. I'm glad I got to try and I think that no doubt this place would be good for some evening drinks. Thanks again to Briony for organising and I look forward to trying the next Bruch Club venue. Mmm brunch!
