Absolutely wonderful experience! My husband and I played THREE times within a weeks time frame. They are SO addicting and fun! The staff MAKE the game. They are so kind and helpful. We aren't really into blood and gore, so I was thankful they had other options. CSI was our very first one EVER, then Blackbeard and finally volcano island. DONT MISS THIS PLACE--YOU HAVE TO TRT IT! We never participated in this new firm of entertainment called "break out rooms". This one is off the main drag of North Myrtle Beach. There is street parking (which can be tough to find) and believe there is more behind the building. We were invited to join in to try it out. A few of the other couples had done them before. Which is good since they have an idea of the games strategy. There are different themes you can choose which adds mystery and fun. We went into the chainsaw serial killer room in which we had to get to the chainsaw in the 1 hour allotted time to beat the killer. You go into a room and search for clues, keys and other items needed to open various locks and doors. There are puzzles and challenges to solve to get the next clue and get into other rooms. We were able to solve all the puzzles and won the challenge with ten minutes to spare. The break out room was fun and we will like to do one of the other challenges offered.

What a gem in the heart of North Myrtle! This place is easy to overlook from the outside, but don't make that mistake! While there is the possibility you will be grouped with strangers, we were lucky enough to have the room to ourselves. We did The Curse of Volcano Island and it was well done from start to finish. The walkie-talkie was an interesting dynamic for communication with the Game Master, but kind of felt appropriate on a deserted island. The rooms were very well decorated and fun to figure out. I liked the combination of riddles and physical puzzles in each room, and they flowed very cohesively, giving us our ultimate mission in a way that felt immersive to the atmosphere. Lots of love was put into this local room, and it was done with quality and attention to detail. As frequent visitors to North Myrtle, we will definitely be back to try other rooms!

We played Volcano and it was so fun! A series of moving objects to open doors, secret compartments, etc. This game kept us entertained and having to think outside the box. The staff was funny and informative. Overall, it was an awesome experience.

AWESOME TIME! My family went on our vacation and had a blast! We opted to do the serial killer room and made it out with 10 minutes to spare. Break Out was one of the best escape rooms we've been to in the Myrtle Beach area - clean, well-organized, the rooms were not cramped, even with seven of us trying to solve, and their staff is wonderful - friendly, engaging and helpful! We had five adults and two kids ages 4 and 5 and everyone was involved and had a great time. We will definitely be back to this one. Thanks Break Out!

Loved this experience! There were 6 of us 53-14 years of age. Everyone needed to be doing something at all times so for us it was great! This was our 3rd time doing a room (in different states). Some are sequential so only a few people are doing something at a time. This was more random so we were all important and needed. Highly recommended!!!

I remember the first time I ever did an escape room (I was at a place outside of the Myrtle Beach area), I was not impressed. I did not think it was something that I would pay to do again. Fast forward about a year or so and I get invited to a birthday celebration that led to Break Out in North Myrtle Beach. We had SO MUCH FUN!!! The staff went above and beyond when creating these rooms. Just did my third escape room at Break Out this weekend and each one has been so unique and full of surprises. Great for coworkers, families, or just a group of friends. My favorite so far has been the volcano island one, followed by the serial killer room. Came here with my husband to do the serial killer event with 4 other company. The group we were in were absolutely fun and exciting to work with. It was a new fun experience and beyond the doors you'll find yourself having fun. The event is timed so it keeps you moving before the time runs out. This was my husbands and my first time doing this and i am definitely coming back to do more events. Unfortunately my group did not make it in time, however we all had a blast and we will be back to finish an event. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. You'll be enjoying your time! Break out was so much fun!! Our second escape and it was fun for the whole family and we are all very competitive so we pretty much had to get it together to finally escape in 42 minutes! We truly looked forward this as a family experience, especially based on the reviews read online. With several of us having done escape rooms before, we had an idea of what to expect. However, the serial killer escape room was very disjointed. There was no lead up, no attempt to create the atmosphere of being on a CSI team and a bunch of random locks and lock boxes requiring opening with the clues not relating to the plot, nor following a logical pattern of succession. Coupled with the fact that it was extremely hot with poor ventilation, it made for a less than pleasurable experience. We'd certainly recommend an escape room but not this one. read more

This is the best of the three escape rooms we visited this week. We visited myrtle beach escape (worst we've visited) and riddles (ok but too may red herring and they come in the room to give the hint) as well. We have played games in various other cities and really enjoyed Break Out. The puzzles are well thought out and logical. We did the CSI and Serial Killer rooms. read more

My first escape game experience. My family of four was placed with another family of five. A total of nine people trying to play in three small rooms. It was too chaotic to be fun. This after making a reservation two days in advance. Save your money or go somewhere else. read more

My family of 5 went to the Break Out Escape Room and did the CSI Myrtle Beach room. It was tricky at times but really cool and fun. Staff was very friendly! Made it out of room with 5 minutes to spare. If you have 6 or less in your party, you'll be paired up with another party. read more

So much fun!!! We did the serial killer room and we were able to beat it with 30 seconds left. Phew!Definitely a great team activity for large groups of all ages, but in my opinion, the more adults the better. Lots of good family fun! We did the CSI Myrtle simulation, & it was a blast. It was our first of this type of thing, & it seemed a little low budget, but still great! Food fun with older kids, but not for Virginia Tech alumni (it takes too much smarts). read more

Fantastic 1 hour trip. If you have free time and are looking for something to do with friends or family this is a great place to go. The challenge that we did was timed (60 minutes) which adds pressure and excitement. We had to use the the walkie-talkie to get two clue to help us along. This was much more of a challenge than I expected and great fun! read more

Some of them seemed a little old and worn. - One puzzle had no logic behind it, it was just random, which was dissapointing. Summary: A enjoyable 45 minute escape from the heat and the rain. Not the best escape room we've done, but not the worst either.

So now I just paid $50. After 3 days, they Jack it up to $75. After one week it quadruples to $100. This is just shameful and disgraceful and I hope the town of Sunset NC lives to regret being so petty. Everything on and around the island is already pricey so I suppose the Sheriff and parking folks feel quite entitled. Get your act together Sunset and stop ripping people off you power and money hungry fascists.

We had SO much fun at this escape room! I have done 10 escape rooms before this one, but The Curse of Volcano Island room was by far the coolest and most challenging room I've done! Definitely my favorite room, and it was so technical and themed to look like you were on an island! This room had different puzzles that I never have done before, and we could have never gotten out without the hints from the wonderful staff! We will for sure come back to do another room next time we're in North Myrtle Beach, and thank you so much for an amazing experience! read more

This place is very unique and different! I loved it!! I broke out of the serial killers house and had a blast with my family. Even my little 4 year old niece had a great time finding clues!! We were nervous at first about it being scary but it wasn't scary at all!! I will definitely be back for the detective room and the other rooms as soon as they are finished. Staff was incredible. This is a must do!! read more

This place is awesome. I've been here several times and we've had a great time every time. The rooms are creative and not too hard, especially with a group of say 6 or more. It could also be a really good team building exercise for companies. I'm a local, and I've been to several escape rooms in surrounding areas in SC and NC, and this is by far the best. read more

Freakin' Sweet! This place is by far the most unique thing to do in North Myrtle Beach! Mini golf is so common here, it's refreshing to see something so cool and inventive come to the area. The serial killer themed room was awesome, can't wait to try the others! This is a MUST DO! read more

We were in NMB for a vacation and wanted to go to an Escape Room and this one was only about 1/2 mile from where we were staying. The staff was so friendly. The rooms were very convincing and the puzzles were challenging and inovative. We will defiantly be returning in the future. read more

This was my first escape room experience. Puzzle was challenging but do-able, well thought out, multi-room experience. Others I did it with had escape room experiences before and said it was better than most. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back again. read more

Great FUN! We had an awesome time doing the Volcano Room. This was very challenging. The staff was great, there were a few problems but because this room was difficult they added extra time for us. We will definitely do this again. read more
