Lisa was great 5 stars there! The receptionist though.. she was unprofessional and unhelpful during my visit. I didn't have my physical insurance card with me and asked if I could email it directly from my insurance portal, as I've done at other offices. She refused and insisted that I upload it to my patient chart. When I explained that I didn't have access to my chart at the moment, she pointed out that I had previously logged in. I mentioned that I might have the information on my laptop but wasn't sure how to access it on my phone. Her response was dismissive, stating that uploading it to the chart was the only option and that "it's not a hurry." After figuring out how to log in to my chart, I returned to ask where exactly I should upload the photo, as I couldn't locate the option. She bluntly replied, "I don't know, there's a tab where you should be able to add it," offering no further assistance. Frustrated, I told her that if she required me to use the office portal, she should be able to guide me on how to navigate it. Instead, she ignored me and focused on her computer. This was a terrible first impression of the office. As the initial point of contact for patients, the receptionist should be friendly, helpful, and willing to assist--not dismissive and unengaged. It was hard not to notice that her demeanor reflected a complete lack of energy or care. Perhaps she was having a bad day or, frankly, just needed a snack. read more

They are so adamant that patients arrive on time, even early, but it's perfectly acceptable to make us wait over an hour. I am so disturbed {Adrian) called me one hour prior to closing that she failed to get to know me within three weeks and didn't have the info she needed to have me seen. I made sure before the appointment to call her and give her all the things that she was missing I am a cancer survivor and just found a mass in my breast. This woman is beyond unkind yelled at me for calling when I did because she was helping other people and was short staffed. This is 2025 people - this should be an absolute no brainer. Please improve your process as the very last thing a patient should be stressing over is getting their records. I had horrible experiences with this place and I would NEVER come back again!!! 6 months ago, I came on time for my appointment, but they kept taking other patients, who came after me, and let me wait at the reception for almost 2 hours! They apologized for the mistake of a new staff. Today, they called me in the morning to remind me about the appointment tomorrow. From the conversation, I found out that I need to bring an order from my family doctor (even I have my PPO insurance). I told them that I m going to my doctor office to get it today and I will for sure bring it in tomorrow at 2pm as required. Then, I drove all the way from LA to GG to see my doctor. When I got there at 2pm, I saw their text saying that my schedule was canceled. They could not give me any reasons for the cancellation. I called them to ask for the reason and insisted that I wouldn't want to cancel the tomorrow's appointment. The girl could not give any specific reason and said sorry since they don't have any availability to put me back in any more. Later on, they called and told me that they have found an empty spot and can put me in the schedule for tomorrow at 10am. Seriously??? That's how you treat your patient??? I am a 59 year old woman who has plenty of mammograms in my lifetime and me ver has it hurt so badly as it did at this facility. I felt like my technician was taking every person who had ever wronged her out on my chest. While there is doing your job, and doing it well, this felt personal. The only reason I am leaving 2 stars instead of one is because aside from the egregious mammogram technician, the rest of the staff was amazing. Im not sure if the technician was having a bad day or what but that's not my problem I'm basically standing there naked trying to get through this and she couldn't have been more ruder to me. All I wanted to do was finish up the exam, but she insisted on explaining to me why the second scan hurt me more than the first. I've had mammograms before I know the drill. I'm standing there half naked she made me take off my glasses I can't see I'm in a compromised position and I just want to get this done but she insists on telling me why and how and I begged her twice. Can we just please get on with it I'm having anxiety I would just like to move on, but this woman just wanted to argue. She kept cutting me off and telling me I was not allowing her to do her job because I was not letting her explain what happened on the previous scan. Again I told her to please just let's finish up and we can talk later I just wanted to get through it. She wouldn't have it. I don't know if something was wrong with her or what the issue was. But I finally Ran out of the room. I asked the staff what the girls name was and I think they said Tish but I'm not sure. Later on I did speak to the manager and she talked me into coming back and finishing the scan on another day. Today was that day and I had Kelly who is absolutely amazing. First of all I can not say enough about Dr. Valentina Bonev!! I have had a long lasting issue and could not find anyone who would help me. After 2 years I really did not know where to turn. I was referred to her and thought I'd give her a try. At my very first appointment she reviewed all of my images and we discussed my very long history. She then asked to examine me and after all of the doctors I have seen, she was the ONLY one who physically examined me! It almost brought tears to my eyes when I told her that. My husband was in the room and he teared up as she stated she was going to get to the bottom of this and would definitely be able to help me! Well she did! She ordered a couple of more tests and within 2 weeks I had surgery. The surgery was very successful and I am so thankful and pain free! Dr.Bonev is amazing!!! Thank you is simply not enough!! Awful healthcare experience and fraudulent billing practices! They created so much unnecessary stress and trauma for my family and I, repeatedly LIED about my radiology report reading, lied about their ability to open/read records sent by another (massive) hospital system, and then to add insult to injury, tried to triple bill me for the same date of service for Dr. Bonev. The cherry on top was being gaslit and verbally abused by administrative office staff, when they realized how much trouble they were going to be in for their (very large) part in the above. Dr. Bonev's billing office Manager, Tatiana, claims the doctor "agreed to adjust" one of the triple charges off as a "courtesy" (more like, because you triple billed me), but then harassed me about the other amount they claimed I owed. I literally paid money for a bill I know I don't owe, just to get them to leave me alone, and to put this awful, traumatizing experience behind me; a month after I made that payment, they have now sent me another bill and threat to send me to collections---FOR A BILL I ALREADY PAID AND HAVE A RECEIPT FOR. I emailed Tatiana in billing, as well as Becky, the office manager, and have yet to hear from either of them. A very detailed report is going to the DMHC and the Board of Registration, about my experience with this doctor, the office staff, Radnet/Breastlink, the radiologist, and their billing office. My father, a board certified physician of over 50 years, was equally disgusted. I will be posting more details about my encounters with this office and their Orange office very soon---they can count on it. When I first found out I needed to see a breast surgeon, I contacted three that were referred to me. Dr Bonev's was the first to return my call. i was able to get an appointment right away. She was thorough in explaining to me what my biopsy results meant and what she was intending to do during surgery. From that point on, after my visit, her office staff got the ball rolling. They set up my appointments with the different medical specialists I had to see and even worked with my primary physician to facilitate my pre op lab work results to get ready for surgery. it was very important to me that I had access to her too if I had any questions. She lived up to my expectations. She was easily accessible and got my questions answered. I am happy things went very smoothly for me during this ordeal. read more

Horrible scheduling. I cancelled my authorization from my insurance for this facility and found another imaging center. I had to wait almost 20 minutes to get a human on the phone while manovering through a complicated phone system. Once I got a human on the phone after 5 min of questions I was told they are not booking "for my insurance" until next year. I asked to be put on the wait list in addition to making the appt. they said they do not have one and I would have to call back every day and check for an opening. So I am supposed to take 30 min out of each day to get an appt in 2019? Horrible back office. We have plenty of imaging options in Newport. read more

This review is strictly for my experience in the waiting room. I will say the decor is quite nice but that's where the positivity ends. The front desk nonstop chatters about things unrelated to work and even was badmouthing someone they talked to on the phone after they hung up. Don't get excited when you see the coffee machine. Both times I've been here it had stale coffee. Also, I was here because I was with someone getting a biopsy and brought my laptop so I could get my work done only to find out their guest Internet was down. At this point I wasn't surprised. Lastly, the one front desk person was not that helpful when they were asked for help regarding one of the forms. Whether or not the actual medical staff in the back reflects this same quality I can't say but it would be enough for me to go somewhere else if they can't even get their shit together in the front. This was the worst mammogram I have ever had. The tech jammed the machine against my rib bones and it was extremely painful to the point where I could not breathe. I understand they have to compress the breast and it gets uncomfortable but this was far beyond that, it was excruciating. As I sit here writing this review I am still in pain! Then she gets an attitude even though I was placing my body exactly in all the twisted positions she was putting me in and did not move, I couldn't move even if I wanted to! And then she gets an image that she says my hand was in the way - but she was the one that placed my hand there and I did not move it! So she said she had to do it all over again. And that was the first breast. The second breast she rushed through it to just get me out. She says she got the proper images but I'm not sure if she really did. I will find out if the doctor tells me to repeat it. But I will be sure to go elsewhere. Also the waiting time was 45 minutes past my appt time. Awful experience! read more

I just wanted to let everybody know that the care that I have received from Dr. Lisa Guerra has been over the top! Nobody wants the diagnosis of Breast Cancer and finding the right Dr. is extremely important. Dr. Guerra spent a lot of time explain the type of cancer and how the body works with it. She went over all my options to "Get it Out!" Her office made the operation process easy and they helped with the other medical professionals that would need to be with her during the operation. Surgery went well, even during Covid! She had always answered my questions via text if so can't reach the office. That is huge! This facility is an in-network provider with my Blue Shield PPO plan. When I arrived at my appointment for a diagnostic mammogram, I was told that I would need to pay nearly $600 upfront, when my co-pay should have been $95. I asked if they ran my insurance which I had provided to them over a week prior and they said that they did and that because it was the beginning of the year, that my deductible had been reset and this was happening to all of their patients. They would not see me without payment in full, so I left to sort this out with Blue Shield. Blue Shield confirmed that my responsibility was $95 and that imaging was not subject to my deductible. If you choose to use this facility, make sure that you have your pre-authorization from your insurance and carry your summary of benefits with you as well. I experienced the same thing at another RadNet location that wanted me to pay over $1300 upfront for my MRI, despite my co-pay being $325. When I worked this out on the phone prior to my appointment, they had to make sure the front desk knew not to charge me upfront and just accept my co-pay. It's frustrating to have to deal with this with in-network providers who have negotiated rates with our insurance company. In order to not be taken advantage of do not trust that they are accurately reviewing your insurance. Do your homework in advance and carry your summary of benefits with you to make sure that they will not be charging you an amount that exceeds your patient responsibility. read more

Angeles on earth; that is what this cancer treatment center means to my wife and I. They also have other offices and my wife was serviced at the Newport Beach and Orange locations. The medical professionals in this treatment group literally saved my wife's life who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Their expertise and focus is cancer treatment. It is a "one stop shop" organization that provides all services needed to treat cancer such as testing/detection, cancer education to prepare for "what's next," surgeons, oncologist, reconstructive surgeons (Finesse group), chemotherapy and a pharmacy that can provide and/or order cancer medications. The convenience and ease of going to one or (sometimes) two facilities rather than running around all over the place to several locations decreased the stress that we experienced. We conducted research on all of the doctors/medical personnel that we were assigned to and they are proven to be the best in Orange County California! The doctors were always available for consultation via telephone and/or text which sometimes occurred after their office hours. This really decreased our anxiety and worries because cancer treatment is a stressful journey and there is always fear of the unknown. They communicated effectively with us and with the other medical professionals involved in the treatment team. They are well connected within the medical community and when other specialty services were needed, they provided referrals to capable and reliable experts. Most importantly, they were all very kind and caring toward my wife. They really do care about the treatment of cancer and treated my wife with dignity, respect and understanding. My wife was not just "another number," she was a human being that required cancer treatment and reconstructive surgery and they demonstrated care and concern towards my wife throughout this entire process and in all follow-up appointments that she now has. Special shout-out go to Dr. Lisa Guerra, Dr. Shlomit Ein-Gal, Dr. Gaon and also to the chemo therapy infusion team in the Orange location. I had a mammogram performed at Breastlink Newport Beach in December of 2019. They requested that I return for an additional view in January, 2020. The office told me I had a copay due at that time, which I paid by credit card. A year later I received a bill from Beverly Radiology stating that I owed $125.00. I subsequently received multiple EOB statements with CPT codes that had changed, but no additional payments from my insurance company. When I called customer service I was told the account was closed and no balance was due. Five months later I received another bill. I spoke to a customer service representative who told me it would be reviewed and to wait for a response. No one contacted me. I spent 30 minutes waiting to speak to customer service with no success. A week later my account was sent to collections. I immediately paid the bill to the collections company even though I was never able to get any explanation of the charges, payments, or adjustments on the bill. Two weeks later I received another bill from Beverly Radiology for the entire bill. Needless to say, I was very angry. I have not gotten my annual mammogram due to these issues even though I have subsequently become eligible for Medicare. The customer service at Beverly Radiology and their subsidiary Breastlink is substandard and extremely frustrating with wait times exceeding 30 minutes. I am thankful that since I now have a Medicare Advantage plan that I will never have to use this radiology company again. read more

I work in Oncology and I chose to come here as a patient. I have been a patient of Dr. Guerra and Dr. Link for almost 10 years. I have received the absolute best care I can imagine. Each physician takes time to explain things to me and answer all of my questions. I have NEVER felt rushed during an appointment. I know I am receiving the most current and advanced care at Breastlink. Lisa (front office at NB location) emailed me all of my paperwork several weeks before my appointment. They verify your insurance well in advance so there are no surprise bills. I even spoke with another lady in their billing department when I changed insurance and she was so kind and helpful. All staff were wonderful and helpful. i did appreciate the elimination of the back office waiting area after changing into a gown. This step has been eliminated due to Covid. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the Covid precautions. Masks are required, no temps, and beyond that, my comfort level with disinfecting the mammogram machine etc. was not there. The technician wore a mask and shield...the test requires the technician to repeatedly get within inches of the patient's face and the machine is not only touching the patient face, but the patient must grasp the sides of the machine during the test. There was no hand sanitizer offered and no discussion of disinfecting procedures until i asked and then the response was, oh yes we do that. i think this office should significantly increase their covid precaution efforts; i was glad when it was time to leave. read more

I'm sorry but this is the final straw for me. I called up via the telephone number here on yelp to make an annual appointment. Ideally I want to go to Newport Beach or Laguna Hills. The guy tells me there is no office for Breastlink in Laguna Hills. Well, that's interesting, because I've been there several times in the last 4 years, but never mind - let's go for Newport Beach. He then tells me I can't schedule this years mammo before Dec 21st as that was the date of the one last year. NOT true. My insurance company has since confirmed it goes by calendar year - as the last mammo was LAST year, I can have THIS year at any time I choose. He asks me to call back. I say no, let's just book it now, way in advance. Apparently there are absolutely NO appointments at Newport Beach for TWO MONTHS from now! OK, let's try somewhere else. He takes my zip code, and tries to tell me the Orange location is only 1 mile from my house. No, it's not. I've been there. It's a good half an hour away on a good traffic day. Turns out he transposed one of the digits in my zip code. Once we had got that worked out, he still insisted they don't have a branch in Laguna Hills. I asked him to look on the system again. My last appt was in Newport Beach, and....oh! The appt before that was in Laguna Hills! So they DO see it on the system! Yes - but we can't schedule appts there. I'll put you through to them. So he did. I waited on hold for 10 minutes but then had to hang up as I had somewhere I needed to be. I called back later that afternoon thinking I'll just schedule for Newport Beach. This call I found out that an appointment had been made for me without my knowledge at Orange! WHAT???! So I asked the girl to please cancel it. She hung up on me. So I called back a THIRD time. Waited on hold. Finally got someone, and asked her - nicely - to please cancel the appointment again. She told me she would love to do that for me - but her system is down right now. Are you freaking KIDDING me??! So I asked to speak to a manager, while they got the system back up. Explained the above to him. He assured me he would cancel the appointment and he would put me through to medical records to arrange to have my records transferred to another provider because I have now reached the end of my rope! If making a simple appointment is THIS stressful and difficult, I don't WANT to deal with this organization any more. This is insanity. Needless to say, when I finally spoke to someone in medical records, she said my appointment made without my knowledge or consent is still in the system. I don't quite know now what I have to do to cancel it, but I can promise you, if I get billed for an appointment I never even made, there will be hell to pay. This company is Radnet, who I am guessing is the radiology company behind Breastlink, really not sure? But seriously Breastlink - if your scheduling company can't get something this simple right, they are doing you no favors at all, no matter how good your physicians and specialists and equipment may be. I am now having to take my records to another provider in the hope of at least being able to make an appointment without tearing my hair out. And that is a real shame, after what? 4 years and exquisite care at Breastlink? Very disappointing. read more

The care that I received here was hands down the best I have ever had in this situation. Every single medical practice should act and operate like they do. The office manager, Shanna, outstanding- on top of everything, compassionate, knowledgeable, and a problem solver. Every office should have someone like her. I started going to Breastlink for mammograms a few years ago. The staff is most welcoming and friendly. I always felt I was cared for. Fast forward...I was diagnosed with Breast Carcinoma. My husband, Denis, and I met with Dr. Guerra. She spent considerable time with us explaining everything from A to Z. We felt a huge relief just being informed. I have been to other facilities and I have never experienced such phenomenal care and beautiful "bedside manner"...I am referring all of my friends and clients to "Breastlink in Newport Beach" for their beautiful tender loving care. The front staff was very kind and sweet and Sheri "The Mammogram Technician" was absolutely a living doll....she was so kind, loving, tender and so very sweet and made the whole experience truly a dream come true!!! Also the lady that performed the ultrasound was so very sweet and loving too.
