But I would like to give a special shout out to two people in the office Melissa and Viviana they were great helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I was nervous with a procedure (OK I'm a big baby) they made me feel very comfortable and calm. They spoke of Dr Nikrovan's expertise which made me feel assured and again calm. Dr N was great also explained everything in the procedure and took his time to let me know what's happening. Melissa and Viviana are a great asset to the office. Again all of the staff are great. I was then told that he is a concierge doctor and sells packages and if I wanted to see him instead of his physician assitant I would have to buy a concierge package. Absolute worst practice I've EVER worked with! Every step of the way, we ran in to errors, mistakes and lies, all the while, Dr. Nickravan just wants to go on Instagram and post videos of himself walking in the park and exercising in the driveway of his home. Before my wife and I became patients, their front-line call center is not in their office, it sounds like they're in the Philippines. When they finally decide that you have a valid reason to speak with someone in the office, they put you on hold for a long time while they attempt to transfer you to the actual local office. Super annoying when you just have a quick question! Second issue, their new patient appointments are several months out, and one person would say you're good to go for the appointment, but then another person would say oh no, they're still waiting for your paperwork, even though I sent them the papers months before that (they can't keep track of their papers). Third issue: they kept pushing hard to sell me on using some fancy injector pen for testosterone injections, something like $100 per week (400 a month) and after refusing and arguing with them 3 different times, they finally sent my script to Costco where I get a two month supply of testosterone for $30 (they want the recurring monthly markup on the meds). Fourth issue- Quest last lost my blood work and my labs were not ready in time for my appointment, so when I canceled the appointment, they stood firm that they had to charge me a $100 cancellation fee, even though it was not my fault that Quest lost my labs. I warned them that negative reviews would be forthcoming and they didn't care. So in their greedy pursuit of the $100 cancellation fee, they were willing to lose two patients, my wife and I, and take on negative reviews. That shows how desperate they are for every dollar!! And the fifth issue- every time my wife had an appointment, they would call my cell phone and every time I had an appointment, they would call my wife's cell phone. Their office manager Citlalli tried to lie and say that when my wife filled out her new patient form, she put my cell phone number down, which is absurd, my wife would never do such a thing. When someone asks you for your cell phone number, do you put down your spouse's? And we BOTH made that mistake? Give me a break! With how this practice prioritizes money and profit over its patients, I can only think that Nikravan must have a huge mortgage that he's trying to pay off before he retires! Find a different endocrinologist, there's nothing good about Nikravan and his circus. Yet another unfortunate case of front office staff being uninformed of office policies and misinforming potential new patients. Newsflash: Google--or better yet, ChatGPT--could be your best friend when it comes to brushing up on your lack of knowledge, if you really insist on staying that ignorant. Let's talk about In-Network insurance. What does that mean? Well, according to the State official I spoke with (after wasting more than six months of my life arguing with the insurance company), WE are not responsible for a single financial claim. That responsibility falls squarely on the hospital, which has to file and fight for the money if they're supposedly "in-network." And yet, somehow, Fara Kovili kept insisting that WE should fight with the insurance company. Brilliant advice, right? This place is, without exaggeration, the shadiest so-called medical facility you could possibly walk into--for advice, surgery, or any kind of procedure. Avoid it. 100%. And now, to top it all off, this guy is claiming that I'm "harassing" him or his business. Really? Funny, considering I haven't called, emailed, or contacted them in any way since the incident. First off,worst experience right from the get go. Dr Nikraven walks in with an arrogant cocky attitude. He then starts out by entering false things about me into his computer. When I try to correct him he kept typing away. I waited months to see Dr Nikraven only to be pond off on his female associate. When I asked her where's Dr Nikraven she said if you want to continue seeing him you'll have to join the concierge program. Wth is a concierge program??? Oh you have to pay this extra $$$$ Then shee doesn't even remember to call in my prescription. I kept checking with my pharmacy and they would tell me for a week she hasn't call in anything. For those of you with thyroid issues know how exhausted and weak you feel without your medication. I should have read the reviews. . . Clinic: as expected being in Newport Beach, money gauging. They state "insurance might not cover so pay in cash." It's more like won't cover, which they know they won't, because they use codes that are not specific and non-billable. My insurance also said have them use different codes. After 6 months they did not and kept all my money instead of helping me out. Front staff: nice I guess, not their fault the clinic bills you for everything to breathing air in there. I had my two year check up with Dr Nikrovan, since having my two large nodules successfully treated with RFA.. it saved my thyroid and I have no further issues. I had two large bulges (nodules) in my neck.. and pressure/disconfort. Now I feel great and no more bulges! I am so grateful for this procedure and highly recommend to anyone who is dealing with thyroid nodule issues. Wow! What a way to start with a new doctor. Tried to schedule an appointment and completed almost all of the documents that they require online, except the credit card form they request upfront. Didn't get a callback so I called the office to inquire about an appointment. This was 3 days after I sent in the documents. The office staff insisted that this was the office policy to have my credit card information upfront before an appointment could be scheduled. Unfortunately everything is about money with this office now. First 199$ on top of 45$ copay, I call to reschedule my Monday appointment on a Friday, I was told there is a 50$ cancellation charge. I said it's Friday for Monday? responded 48 hours advance business day. Nowhere on your email says that. It's says clearly 48 hours in advance. Maybe you should correct that. I had an unpleasant experience at Dr. Sean Nikravan's office for my initial consultation. I was forced to pay $25 to schedule my appointment (which is fine as long as it's applied towards my copay). However, a front office personnel worker was trying to get me to overpay my copay by not applying my $25 credit until I advised her that I had a receipt. Next, she tried to force me to pay for medical procedures (ultrasound) upfront that I did not agree to until I shot that down. Finally, she forced me to write down my credit card number, and sign it to pre-authorize them to charge later on. When I refused, they contacted the doctor and I was told he would not see me unless I did so. At that point, I was ready to demand a refund and leave, but they convinced me that my card would not be charged without my authorization first because they are not sure how much my insurance will cover. It sounds pretty unethical refusing a paid doctor visit unless I pre-authorize my credit card on file first. Makes me wonder how much he will bill my insurance for a consultation visit. By the way, his policies are insane! If you don't meet your insurance deductible, he will charge you extra until you do on top of charging you for his services. 35 minutes later, a nurse took me in the back office to obtain my vitals. After waiting 75 minutes, the doctor finally met with me for approximately 10 minutes, and he talked very fast which made me feel rushed. An 85 minute consultation is unacceptable, and there's too much emphasis placed on how much money he will charge his patients when he does not value our time as much as his. Too many red flags leads me to believe that he values money more than his patients. Sadly, I valued his advice, but my experience let me to believe that he can't be trusted. Skip to last paragraph if my story is too long. Long story but I will keep it as short as I can. I came to him around august 2023 for a rfa consultation for papillary thyroid carcinoma. I did 2 biopsies and 2 ultrasounds before coming to Dr Nikravan. Upon our appointment he just storms in the room and ignores me and looks at my ultrasound because the office insisted they do their own ultrasound so I'm like okay. I'll skip all the other details and let's just say we all agreed RFA treatment for my thyroid carcinoma. He also manipulated the situation and we did an additional biopsy and now I paid a total of $800 already. We also agreed to an MRI to see if malignant cells have spread to nearby areas. We all agreed. October 24,2023 I return for our last meeting prior to RFA. I did all the blood work and MRI he asked and they are fine. Actually, it didn't matter because he never bothered to even look at the results. I discussed cost and preparation with his PA Tammy. All is good to go and I asked to see the DR one last time out of curiosity to see him since it's weird I'm not seeing him prior to RFA. He storms in again and looks at my old ultrasound. He says we need a another biopsy at this time I refuse. He said he needs another one to get a benign diagnosis to protect his best interest and that he has a stronger case. I'm like what case? In case I sue him later on should any problems come up. I'm like what the...? He then blabs about I need surgery instead and talks to his microphone as if I'm not in the room. He then storms out of the room and I'm left speechless talking to his 2 staff. He misled me into thinking I'm a candidate for RFA. Then as I refused more biopsies he thought of himself more. He only cares about making money and protecting his own best interest. Your thyroid and health is secondary if it's even in consideration. He's a pro liar and manipulator. Read his past reviews that are negative it's true. As I couldn't sleep that night. I went online and found that other patients of his recently had a thyroid capsule collapse and dr Nikravan did NOT CARE to take care of this individual. He flat out ignored them and stated they were difficult. Takes no responsibility for his action. Also others have complained that their thyroid nodule and carcinoma returned after a few months. This will require more RFA which dr Nikravan probably planned on. Stay away from this doctor as the risk is very high. He has lost his expertise and care. I'm actually glad he refused RFA on me now... if you want pictures of what can go wrong feel free to message me. Due to privacy and legality I cannot post with this review. On July 31st, the office charged me $198 as deductible, even though it was my first visit and I had not yet seen a doctor or been diagnosed. When I checked with the front desk, I was told that the insurance company told them that I have a deductible. I called my insurance company immediately. After I talked with insurance company, I contacted the billing lady and told her there was only a $20 co-pay and no deductible, but she said she could not confirm that there was no deductible. Unfortunately, I did not receive a refund that day. My husband spent a week on this issue and even sending an EOB statement but was told the issue was caused by a misunderstanding by my insurance company and she insisted it was not her fault. Even though she said I shouldn't have been charged the deductible, she went so far as to say that she didn't understand why I'm so angry about $198. It was charged on July 31st and my dead line of credit card was August 4th. I know there is a grace period before payment is due, but I always pay in full for what I spent. After repeated explanations, I finally got a refund of $178, excluding the co-payment. At the time, she said she couldn't refund without confirmation like this time, but she will refund because I'm so angry. There will be no "next time! " I won't come back:) read more

I've been looking into finding a specialist who can perform RFAs for thyroid nodules, and found Dr. Nikravan. I was concerned with all of the reviews stating the office has significant billing and financial issues, especially after I requested an appointment and received paperwork saying they would have to bill me a consultation fee. So, I decided to call in. After speaking to the office, it's a no-go for me. 1. When I asked about the consultation fee, and whether it would be covered by my co-pay, the woman I spoke to sounded confused (and admitted she was confused), and said: A) They would have to bill me the consulting fee, but if it was covered by my co-pay, they would refund me. What? 2) I asked them to ballpark the process it would take for me to get an RFA, with the understanding that it obviously differs from patient to patient. I'm coming into this appointment with very recent bloodwork, lab work and paperwork, including a recent thyroid biopsy result. She kept saying they would likely have to schedule more labs. Now, I don't MIND extra lab work, since endocrine disorders are tricky. But the way it was phrased just made me concerned it would be additional lab work for no reason. 3) I asked her to clarify how the billing for the RFA procedure would work. Apparently, they ask for cash upfront and THEN they bill your insurance. They will "refund you the difference". What? I've been to a lot of doctors in my time, and I know of very few doctors who bill like this. It seems like a major transparency and documentation issue. After being patient at Dr. Nikravan office for over two years, I am highly disappointed and dissatisfied with Dr. Nikravan and his staff. After Tiffany PA, left this office, has declined in providing adequate ethical service. 1. Now, Dr. Nikravan wants to charge all of his patients an administrative fee of $200 per patient. The receptionists will tell you to pay by March 1, 2024, or no service. 2. Prior to Tiffany PA resigning for unknown reasons, she submitted a referral for a prescription to be filled. I called to follow up in mid-February, and one of the front desk receptionists stated that my insurance was still processing my medication request. 3. On March 1, 2024, I called the office to follow up and spoke to a male receptionist, only to be told that the office had NOT submitted my prescription and that they needed a copy of my insurance card. Lack of common sense, lack of professionalism, poor medical practice overall. 4. Question: If my information was needed back in February, why didn't this office call me to obtain a copy of my insurance card???? And why didn't the female receptionist tell me when I called in February this? 5. Once an office fails to provide ethical and professional service to its patients, it's time to walk away and locate another Dr who takes accountability for his or her office to include their staff. Stopped seeing Dr.N many years ago when he decided to charge a concierge fee. Don't get me wrong - The doctor is good, as I was driving over 40 miles to see him every 4-5 months. He recommended a treatment plan and through its careful execution--I am graced with a clean bill of health and tumor free. Horrible service. No one answered the phones after waiting on hold for 26 minutes (multiple calls) No one calls back to confirm receipt of medical records. The only thing they seem competent in is collecting fees ... before you've even seen the doctor as a new patient. They emailed me 15 times for consent forms, which were already completed. Took consult fee before allowing to book appt. After all this .. I received a text the night before my appt. Which said if I don't fill out required consent forms then they can't move forward with my appointment. So I Cancelled my new patient appointment and did not see this doctor. read more

I think the MDs at this facility have lost their way. Only if you pay a concierge price of 3400.00 a year can you actually see a MD. You can see a NP who cannot really answer your questions for an additional 200 per year and this is all with still using your insurance. Of course they don't tell you this until after you have been seeing them for a few visits. Nor do they tell you that your billing is on the portal until you are overdue then they reach out to you by email to notify you that you are late! Then they cancel minutes before your appointment because you are late on your payment even though you are trying to figure out their billing process because you just found out you are late!! They have no office manager so there is no one to talk to about this only the billing department that doesn't know what is going on. The billing dept assumes you are going to pay your bill by credit card so they tack on an extra fee before they even know how you are going to pay!!! It is such a poorly ran office. I booked an appointment for 4:30pm online with Dr. Nikravan. I drove a distance to get there and when I stopped to get food nearby, I called to ask a question but found out that they no longer use their online booking feature even though its listed right on their website. So, I had no appointment. Not only this, but they are booked out a month and do not even offer appointments at 4:30pm. For someone who had cancer and has fertility issues, I take these appointments very seriously. I'm disappointed with this office. read more

I am extremely disappointed with this doctor and do not recommend this place at all. I've been dying to find a good doctor for a long time since moving to OC and it looks like I'll have to look again. Their PA Julie is amazing and honestly worth going to but the front desk, lab staff and absent doctor are not worth it at all. I went to get labs done as I do and I was told they can't give me the results or new meds until I make an appointment just to be told the results. I have been a patient for a few months and this was a routine check but even more important bc I gave birth three weeks ago so my meds were off. The front desk dissed my urgent request to get meds updated and the doctor emailed me saying from now on I must come in to get my results just to be told my new meds. It seems like all they care about is billing insurance to make money and do not care at all about actual patient care. Dont be taken advantage of: This is regards to more the office lack of service and taken advantage of for payment than it is about the Dr. ability. I had a referral to check on adrenal glands. I specifically told the office this is only for adrenals and only to obtain some form of imaging to confirm there were no nodules/tumors. I was specifically told that I can come down for an ultrasound. I took off work had to get a driver b/c my adrenal energy is very low. They quickly took my payment of $350 , i sent them labs i already compelted and already know what they say and i repeated told lthem i'm only here for an ultrasound - i was not looking for any opinion on my labs. I was then informed they do not do adrenal/abdominal ultrasound (which was disappointing being i was told that was what i wwas coming down for. They offered me a generic script to get one another place - fine. Then i asked for a refund or at least a 50% refund being the service i was there for was never provided. I then rec'd an extensive email saying they had done a thorough investigation on my profile and they would not be refunding anything. First off this is a scam b/c i had an appt for an ultrasound (adrenal as per my referral) and that was not provided. Second, as a health professional and in business over 20 years there is a clear difference between a conversation and a thorough comprehensive review of a patients information and a program. I will state that the Dr. briefly came in re-instating they dont do adrenal ultrasound - i appreicate that but i should not have been charged for something that was offered and not provided. When they answer you first you think u have an appointment and the staff doesn't respond back to u to say yes or no. The blood labs taken in house was outsourced to a outside Laboratory.The lab charges are egregiously over priced. which leaves us up to this point in March 1st. they forced bs administrative fees so basically my wife is now out of medication unless we pay. felt like a shake down honestly .unfortunately we are going to have to start all over now with a new doctor. read more
