Office staff over the phone was completely rude. They scheduled me an in person visit rather than a Telehealth like I had asked and was told they could do. Day of appointment I called to confirm telehealth and the receptionist said they don't do telehealth calls for first time patients. Instead of apologizing for THEIR wrong doing, she continued to have an attitude and be so unaccommodating or helpful. While trying to confirm they would cancel my appt for that day she hung up on me! This office is DANGEROUS. Experiences here are not only long, frustrating, and unpleasant; the incompetence of the office staff, and the neglect of the doctor, make it absolutely dangerous. The office staff makes huge mistake after huge mistake and the patients suffer. We're reporting this office, hopefully one day someone will stop them from hurting people. The receptionist responsible for referrals is going to kill someone. My friend is having a medical emergency involving an ovary and was told in the ER that she needed a referral to a specialist immediately. The office staff told my friend her appendix was fine and she didn't need a referral. She had to call many times and beg the woman to look again at her ER report before she got the referral. Then after weeks of waiting, in excruciating pain (this office doesn't prescribe anything for pain because the doctor killed a young man with over prescribing in 2012 and was reprimanded by the medical board), after more calls, my friend was finally given the referral and a phone number to call, and the phone number wasn't a working number! She has since been unable to reach the referral lady. Also, the PA pronounces it "jin-o-cologist" which is pretty alarming. At least know medical words? These people are dangerous. Dr Beshay is fine, but his staff is terrible. They are rude and unhelpful on the phone. I tried to get a referral for a neurologist. The first referral I got was for a doctor who wouldn't answer the phone and had terrible reviews from patients. I called back to get a new referral and no one contacted me for several weeks. When I called back to follow up, they didn't remember speaking to me and when they did send me a new referral, it was for the exact same doctor. I will not be returning. read more

This is my first visit at this doctor's office. I came for a routine physical, they called me to come in because my insurance covers it. My appointment time was 11:15am and I'm still waiting to be seen. It is now 1:10pm. At noon they called me back to take vitals and said they fell behind and decided to have me wait until after they took lunch. It's incredibly unprofessional to take lunch when you have patients with appointments waiting. Don't come unless you're have time to wait a few hours. Luckily I made my appointment for my day off, but I'm quickly tiring of waiting for them to get back from lunch. read more

Please be forewarned, the last section contains a little gross part. I have the MSI health program which I really hope no one has to go through the torturous experience to get it. This being said, the doctor MSI had originally assigned to me I soon found out is on a probationary period for patient endangerment (YAY America!) Not a fan of managed care, but I have had good experiences in his office. I went to his office after checking his medical record in California learning from my horrible experience (see other review). This abbreviated transcript was my first ever experience with Dr. Beshay! Dr. Beshay: Your name is spelled wrong Me: Oh it's a palindrome so that often happens- Dr. Beshay: NO, you have an Arabic name it should be spelled with a B and not with a V! Me: It is Hebrew, so that's why there is a V...There are also some dialects that don't have the V sound Dr. Beshay: Are your parents Arabic/Arab? Me: (a freakishly pale young woman with a Dutch last name *linguistic cultural phenotype genotype hint*) Well, my parents liked the name...[reiterates brief linguistic history of Semitic languages as learned in University] Dr. Beshay: It should be spelled with a B! Now, please note, his full name is ISAAC BESHAY . . . I could have easily asked him the same questions but in the other order! HAH! However, as I am not accustomed to arguing with male doctors in a who-came-from-where patient setting I (regrettably) dropped it. After a second visit for an ear infection and swollen throat he referred me to an ENT specialist. The ENT specialist was really cocky but this was not the fault of Dr. Beshay. Anyway, he's very professional and knowledgeable. His office staff will try to schedule you in to their best and even if they are full they will still take you. I like him because it doesn't require 2 hours of waiting in fancy offices with botox receptionists. Third visit, I have a lump on the inside of my mouth which he informed me was from biting it. He stated it would heal on its own but it was so big I asked him if it was advisable to laser it (as I was advised by a dental clinic), and he stated no, he will poke it with a needle, suck out the stuff then let it heal on its own. Three to four needle draining later, I now don't look like I have another tongue growing inside my mouth. read more

I started going to Dr Beshay because he was close to my home and I didn't really like my previous Dr. Dr Beshay was a nice enough fellow but in my 4 visits there, I'm starting to realize a complete lack of attention to what's going on. My first visit was for back pain and I had also mentioned a snoring issue I was having and wanted to address. The Dr did give me a prescription for the pain and told me he would look into a sleep study for me. And he kindly offered me some Viagra Samples, which was kind of funny. Weeks later I got a letter stating that I was denied the sleep study because I did not have sleep issues, did not snore, and that I did not have any of the symptoms to justify a sleep study. When I called the hospital to ask why, I was told the good Dr did not submit ANY of the forms that went with the request, he only sent the request and none of the paperwork describing my symptoms. I called back and was made to go back to the office and pay another copay to re-fill out the forms I already filled out the first time. Oh and I was offered more Viagra. So month pass and I don't hear anything. So I call the good doc again and am told over the phone by his admin that I was approved but never went to the study. I informed them this is because I was never notified that the study was approved or what I was supposed to do. I assumed I would get another letter or a call from the Dr this time. So now they want me to go back again and pay another copay and, I assume, to get more free viagra. My GF who also goes to Dr Beshay has had similar issues. They told her a blood test was just fine when in fact her sugar, cholesterol and some hormone levels were dangerously off the chart. The only reason my GF caught it was because she knew her blood sugar would be high (because she's diabetic type 1) but was told it was normal over the phone. however when she had the girl check again, she got the 'Oh! I didn't see that!"' from the other end of the phone. And this went on as my GF asked her to check the other things such as cholesterol and such. She was told a prescription for the insulin pen would be faxed over to her pharmacy, however after 3 weeks, they still have not received it and as of today, the Dr Office has no record that they ever told her they would give her the prescription. As nice as they are, they seem completely incompetent except when it comes to handing out Viagra samples. They do not follow up with their patients and I'm starting to wonder if they look at the charts at all. Unfortunately I would rather have an extremely competent doctor who is a dick, rather than a nice one who doesn't pay attention or follow up. Incompetence such as this could LITERALLY KILL SOMEONE. I'm not really interested in boner pills, I would rather deal with someone who cares about my physical health and not only about collecting co-pays from me. I have had 4 regular doctors in my life and this is by far the worst one I have dealt with, all niceties aside. If you have actual medical issues, I would not go to this doctor. Go to someone who will give you the attention you need and not someone who just wants to get you in and out as quickly as possible. read more

Disappointed. Last visit for a refill I was told the dr. Would no longer be able to prescribe me the medication I've been on for about a year. Keep in mind that this could have been mentioned over the phone instead of me driving all the way from south county to their offices in Costa Mesa to meet with the Dr. And have him tell me face to face. I completed all their tests to verify that I was applicable for this medication and approved. Why the change? I don't know but I am discouraged by Dr. Beshay. I've been doing this for far too long. Now I'm having complications and when I try to get an appointment set up he's not in the office that day or they can't work with me. Dr. Beshay Is horrible!!! When I was here I had a sore throat he said he would just give me a zpac. I demanded that he do a throat culture before I take any kind of antibiotics especiallt a zpac. The culture came back negative and I said " See I didn't even need antibiotics at all" And he said " We give Zpacs out like candy here" I could not believe my ears. I also came to him because my esthetician noticed my thyroid was swollen. I told him and asked him to check it out and he said it was "perfect" I said "Are you sure I can feel it is a little swollen" he said "no you are fine don't worry" Well I did worry and went an saw another Dr. It turns out I have a TUMOR on my thyroid over an inch long. So please do not see this guy if you value your health. read more

I am switching to a different doctor first thing tomorrow. I've had too many problems with this office. ...specifically with receptionists. They are nice, they will apologize for their mistakes but they make WAY too many mistakes. And every single time it costs you time, effort and frustration. I have only seen dr. beshay 4 or 5 times and here are the issues I've had with the incompetent receptionist in those few visits. 1. They only once successfully reached me to let me know that my referral was authorized. Other times, they either said they tried (my phone is always on and a voicemail box set up), or they forgot, or I had to call them to find out what's going on after a few weeks. Oh, even one time I was told I got authorized, I called the specialist and they had no idea, so I called them back and they told me "the new girl" made a mistake. 2. They had a "miscommunication" by the referral manager, and she referred me to a wrong specialist. I had to wait even longer for the right specialist. 3. And the last one is I went into the office (fasting for 12 hours) for a full blood work, and full std test. The girl came in "tried to" take blood, took her a good 10 mins to fill 2 tubes. She couldn't find the vein once, then she accidentally pulled the needle. I mean, it's all good really, she may be new, I was totally fine with it, I even told her "it's totally fine, take your time" She was a nice girl. But it doesn't get any better. She knew I wanted blood work, and std test. So she filled 2 tubes and urine, too. Then the doctor came in. I told him what I wanted too. He knew. After all done, I stepped outside my room and we had a little chit chat about my tests and stuff with every single person in the office hearing and listening since it's a small office. So EVERYBODY, DEFINITELY knew I was there for a full blood work and full std test. 10 days later, I still haven't got a call so I called them. The receptionist first told me they haven't got my results back. I asked her if she was sure it's been 10 days. She excused herself to go check again, she comes back and voila results have been back. BUT! dr. beshay hasn't reviewed them yet. 10 days! It was a friday so I asked her if he could review them real quick and consult me, I am curious about my results and it should take him a couple minutes max. She says, she doesn't think so and the doctor is busy. Fine. Can you ask him to review them the next day (he is in on saturdays)? She says no, he doesn't review results on saturdays. FINE! How about monday. Yeah we will call you on monday. No call on monday! So I call them 10 min before they close. This time they tell me that the results for my blood work haven't come in. I remind them the conversation I had with them on friday. Doesn't change anything. She asks me to call them the next day if the results still arent there (after 14 days! what difference will 1 day make?!), they will call the lab. So I call them the next day, and BOOM! "We are sorry, there has been a miscommunication, we haven't sent requested a bloodwork for you." Waste of time and energy. Receptionists are incredibly incompetent. So much that one could make funny sitcom out of them. Learn from my experience, and find yourself another doctor. read more

Horrible office!!! I called in the morning to make an appointment and the receptionist told me, 'there is only an appointment with the nurse practitioner, not the doctor. That's actually better though.' Ummmm...ok?!?! So I set my appointment for 1:30pm. Which I took my lunch break for. When I got there, I was given a bunch of paperwork to fill out, typical for a first time visit. After 20 minutes of filling out the paperwork, the receptionist informed me that the nurse practitioner just left for lunch 10 minutes ago and wasn't returning for an hour!!! What the heck people???? not a good practice!!!!. medical assistants breezed through my vitals with very poor bedside manner and even less attention to detail. once dr. beeshay came in he spent less than 15 minutes with me. not only was he quick and cut me off while i was talking when i told him my symptoms had been occuring over a months period he performed blood work and said the results after waiting a couple of days my symptoms worsened and when i called the office for my results the receptionist just told me i needed to take lipitor. it was not until i asked did they say anything about the initial reason for my visit save yourself time and money and find another office. if i could give my experience zero stars i would read more

I personally feel that I had a great visit with Dr. Beshay. Keep in mind, I have only been here once. My mother also uses Dr. Beshay. I did have an appointment. Dr. Beshay was warm and friendly to me. He explained everything before and after and came back to answer my questions (and I had a thousand questions- hadn't seen a doctor in a while). Staff is friendly and quick. Staff is also great with referrals (read: pretty fast, as long as your insurance is). They are able to get RXs out ASAP. So far I have 0 complaints. He is just a little far for me, but I rarely need to see a doctor, so this is not a problem. read more
