Unfortunately here we are with another company in Kamloops who only supports their customers when…read moreit suits their own interests. Purchased a fairly expensive, in stock item online as a gift which ended up not being what the person wanted. Spoke with someone on the phone who confirmed that as long as the item was unused and had a receipt I could return it. Once I was able to return to the store I was told that since it was purchased online there was nothing they could do about a refund. That was after two of the employees and the owner were educated by the store manager that it somehow wasn't possible to process a refund with the company that processes their online cart yet when I picked the item up the same manager was able to process a refund for the PST that shouldn't have been charged. Seems a bit off nowadays when online shopping is pretty standard and the policies for refunds are straightforward. Anyways asked if I could at least have an instore credit since I do spend a lot on gear, nope, won't even save face and honor that. Just a dumb incompetent look on the owners face when I tried to explain this to him, then he decided to call me a liar for my reason to return. Well that doesn't help the conversation...and FYI what makes you think I would ever want to do business with your store again? Interesting how quickly you updated your return policy online after I left your store. Bravo for being such an outstanding business in our community. Buyers beware, if you're looking to purchase bike parts online, there are cheaper options with free shipping and transparent standard return policies. If you're shopping local, give Bike Cafe or Spoke a try but steer clear of this place.

My review is directed solely at the owner of this location. Unfortunately, every interaction I've…read morehad with him has been marked by condescension, disrespect, and an overall lack of basic customer service. As a public servant working as an Emergency Responder, I hold myself to high standards of professionalism, accountability, and compassion--on and off duty. I don't expect perfection from others, but I do expect a minimum level of respect, especially from someone in a customer‑facing role. My family has spent thousands of dollars at Dolson's Source for Sports. We've always enjoyed the store, and the staff--aside from the owner--have consistently been kind, helpful, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the owner's behaviour has repeatedly overshadowed that. The most recent incident involved a pair of New Balance S. Ohtani cleats my youngest son was incredibly proud to earn through his hard work in baseball. After purchasing them, we learned his age group wasn't permitted to wear metal cleats. He never wore them outside, and they remained in new condition. When we attempted to return them, the owner refused, claiming the gold cleats were "too scuffed" to resell--even though they were barely touched. After having them professionally polished, the staff agreed they looked brand new, but the owner again refused before even examining them, stating, "I told you already, I'm not taking them back," and implying the issue was simply that I "made a bad purchase." He took the shoes out and looked over them intensely, looking for any issue to point out as a reason to not return them. He remarked, "Well, you really did over on these," as he couldn't find any issue with the shoes at all. His dismissive attitude, lack of empathy, and unwillingness to even consider store credit--especially given our long-standing loyalty--were deeply disappointing. My son was crushed, and the entire interaction was handled with unnecessary hostility. This experience has been reported to the BBB, and I strongly encourage others to be cautious when dealing with the owner or, if possible, to avoid the store entirely. I want to be clear: the staff and the owner's children are wonderful. The issue is solely with the owner's conduct.

There were other more expensive goggles in glass cases that had no advertising of a sale. I bought a pair of goggles that were 30% off and found that the lens is too dark when I got home looking through normal light. The lights at the store were very bright so it was hard to tell. I went back the following day to exchange the goggles for different ones. The same goggles I bought were still on sale with 30% off signs next to them. I decided to try some higher end goggles in the glass cases and found ones I liked because they came with both a dark lense and a lighter lens so i knew they would work for me. The associate told me the ones in the glass case were 15% off yesterday only. There were not any signs stating this yesterday and I was only shown the ones on the counter as being on sale when I asked about which goggles are on sale. I went to the counter to exchange my goggles that were too dark and wanted to buy the more expensive ones. The man at the till said it was not a problem and that he would exchange my current ones for the more expensive ones. I asked if the 15% discount could be applied as it wasn't displayed and I was not told about it when I asked about goggles that were on sale. The man said no. It seemed odd that the same sale wouldnt be on because the same sale on everything was still going there the following day. Even my 30% off goggles were still 30% off. I asked if there was anything that could be done to get the 15% price from yesterday and the man seemed got angry then said, "you know what, all sales are final, here you go have a good day" and shoves my goggles towards me. I was taken back because at first he said that he could do an exchange, and then changes his mind and wouldn't allow the exchange. All this just because I asked for the discount from yesterday that was never mentioned or displayed. I asked if he was the owner and he said yes. I then asked him his name and he ignored me so I asked if he had a business card and he said no. Very unprofessional and rude especially for the owner to treat customers like that. Not to mention saying to the customer he can do an exchange and then changes his mind a few seconds later. Now I have goggles that I cannot use because they are too dark.
