I am passing on my negative experience with Aqua Lock Mold Mitigation. Not ever having any…read moreexperience with doing Mold Mitigation I went into this naive. My anticipation was more based on the fear that is out their of having Mold. Our experience started with a major water leak because of repair in the street by the Louisville Water Co that caused the breakage of a upstairs toilet hose because of a hydraulic surge in the piping when they turned the water back on. The water was turned off within 20-30 minutes but water flowed from the 2nd floor all the way down to the basement. A remediation company was called in and started the removal of water soaked materials. When the insurance company was called it they approved the tear out of the materials that received damage from the water. The tear out exposed the existence of preexisting mild mold presence on studs and joists. We contacted Aqua Lock at the recommendation of a realtor. Got the quote inquired the process and the time it would take to accomplish the mitigation process. Because we were pressed for time I proceeded with Aqua Lock. My anticipation from the fear out there that they would arrive all suited up and with breathing devices. NOT!! Two guys showed up and all they had was two gallon containers and two spray bottles. Inquired about the not having any protection PPE they responded that they do it all the time and have not had any adverse effects from it. They proceeded with the mitigation and ALL they did was spray done all the areas with occasional wipe down. They finished with in an hour. The charge for this was $1956.00 I also got a Radon Mitigation quote from them and it was $1465 which would require much more time, materials and equipment than an hour of spraying. We had another company come in to do the Radon Mitigation that also did Mold Mitigation and discussed the situation with them and ask what they would of charged for the same service. They gave me a budget quote of less than $500. Sent an email to Aqua Lock about my surprise of the discrepancies and looking for justification for the cost. All they could give me was that they have a 10 year transferable warranty on their service. NO HINT of any compensation for their price. My recommendation is to shop around and ask a lot of questions first before proceeding with having the service done. All the people at Aqua Lock were friendly and good to work with just I feel that I got taken on the service. Hope this is helpful and saves you the disappointment and money we experienced with Agua Lock Mold Mitigation!!! We were disappointed with Aqua Lock not on the service but on the cost of $1956 for the hour service (basically only spraying down the infected areas) that it took to provide the Mold Mitigation. Then after finding out from another provider that they would of done it for less than $500. SHOP AROUND!!! We were naive and shame on us for letting this happen to us!! Called for justification of the price and basically all they could tell me for it that it comes with a ten year transferable warranty and others do not.

They took photos and when it came time for the summary reading at the end, they went over everything in detail and showed us all the photos they took of concerns. He had told us he couldn't put the exit pipe through the roof cause he was too big to get in the attic so he had to go through the wall in the garage. We had some inspectors come out after the job was completed and was told he should have sent the pipe up through the roof and not out the side of the garage. He also drilled a large hole in the wrong spot and never fixed it. He also left three large puddles of oil in our driveway and out on the road!!! Ruining our concrete driveway at our new home. When confronted he said it wasnt him and blamed the someone else. He also told me he only used one truck when I know with my own eyes I saw two when I checked on him while he was doing the job. Dont hire!!!

Horrible service and horrible communication…read more I recently bought a home that had a radon mitigation system installed by this company. They installed it right outside the master bedroom with a bad fan. The fan buzzes and this pitch goes up and down every day, 24/7. We have to run 2 noise machines in our bedroom to override hearing the mitigation system just to sleep. Every night. I reached out to them and had 8 appointments scheduled over the past month. 7 out of 8 appointments they did not show up or communicate to me why they would be late or would need to reschedule. I had to call an hour after each appointment to be told something different each time. They only called for one appointment to let me know they would not be able to make it in time. After the 8th time of being avoided, I went ahead and told them I'll be using someone else. I gave this company 8 chances to make it right and they have the audacity to ask for another chance This company is only 100-200 cheaper than other well known and reliable companies that install radon systems. If you are selling your home and just trying to find the cheapest option, please avoid this company at all costs to prevent the new home owner from going through endless circles with this company. If this is for your home and you have no plans to sell, this company will avoid you for anything service related 8 separate times of avoiding me and making me push other plans out of the way only for them not to show up. All the other companies…read morewe scheduling 2-4 weeks out, which our buyer indicated would be too long since the were closing on their house as well. BreatheSafe was the only company that could respond quickly enough to meet the buyers ridiculous time frame of 4 days to get the system installed. We found out on Monday we had failed the radon test, and it took us 2 days to strong arm our HOA to put a policy in place for what was needed. Lance and Joy were out here 5 days later installing our system. During the install Lance had to put his ladder in our flowerbed and our climbing vine had to be pulled out to make room for drilling a a hole for the remediation. Joy replanted the vine and took care of the other flowers that were in the way. They were quick, thorough, and very knowledgeable about the process and answered all of our questions. They were a joy to work with, and we highly recommend them if you need radon remediation.

I took three bids and went from there. Two things stood out: 1) While AHR's bid was in line with the industry standard, when I mentioned that I was receiving other bids, Chris made a point to tell me that they would match the best offer. None of the other companies made that offer. Sure enough, they price matched with no questions asked. 2) The other offers I received asked for payment by cash or check. Each other bid would accept credit card, but would add a 3% convenience fee for doing so. That seemed kind of tacky considering how much money a mitigation system cost. AHR charges no fee for credit card payments. Beyond that, the appointment for estimate and installation were right on time and the two different company reps were really friendly but professional. The work was excellently done. Highly recommend!
