I am passing on my negative experience with Aqua Lock Mold Mitigation. Not ever having any experience with doing Mold Mitigation I went into this naive. My anticipation was more based on the fear that is out their of having Mold. Our experience started with a major water leak because of repair in the street by the Louisville Water Co that caused the breakage of a upstairs toilet hose because of a hydraulic surge in the piping when they turned the water back on. The water was turned off within 20-30 minutes but water flowed from the 2nd floor all the way down to the basement. A remediation company was called in and started the removal of water soaked materials. When the insurance company was called it they approved the tear out of the materials that received damage from the water. The tear out exposed the existence of preexisting mild mold presence on studs and joists. We contacted Aqua Lock at the recommendation of a realtor. Got the quote inquired the process and the time it would take to accomplish the mitigation process. Because we were pressed for time I proceeded with Aqua Lock. My anticipation from the fear out there that they would arrive all suited up and with breathing devices. NOT!! Two guys showed up and all they had was two gallon containers and two spray bottles. Inquired about the not having any protection PPE they responded that they do it all the time and have not had any adverse effects from it. They proceeded with the mitigation and ALL they did was spray done all the areas with occasional wipe down. They finished with in an hour. The charge for this was $1956.00 I also got a Radon Mitigation quote from them and it was $1465 which would require much more time, materials and equipment than an hour of spraying. We had another company come in to do the Radon Mitigation that also did Mold Mitigation and discussed the situation with them and ask what they would of charged for the same service. They gave me a budget quote of less than $500. Sent an email to Aqua Lock about my surprise of the discrepancies and looking for justification for the cost. All they could give me was that they have a 10 year transferable warranty on their service. NO HINT of any compensation for their price. My recommendation is to shop around and ask a lot of questions first before proceeding with having the service done. All the people at Aqua Lock were friendly and good to work with just I feel that I got taken on the service. Hope this is helpful and saves you the disappointment and money we experienced with Agua Lock Mold Mitigation!!! We were disappointed with Aqua Lock not on the service but on the cost of $1956 for the hour service (basically only spraying down the infected areas) that it took to provide the Mold Mitigation. Then after finding out from another provider that they would of done it for less than $500. SHOP AROUND!!! We were naive and shame on us for letting this happen to us!! Called for justification of the price and basically all they could tell me for it that it comes with a ten year transferable warranty and others do not. read more

Levi and Charlie were prompt, courteous and well mannered. as we walked to the job site in the basement they explained the process. They answered a few of my questions and then secured the area and set up a vacuum blower for the dust from the grinding. Upon completion they cleaned up the including the walkway to and from the backyard and the driveway. Great young men and worked well as a team. read more

We had two basement leaks a few months ago, and Aqua Lock saved the day. Not only were they great at what they do, they were also kind and quite funny (and were not outrageously expensive). The process was explained well both in the estimate visit and the actual fix. My basement was well taken care of, and they all tried their best to make the process as easy for me as possible. We called Aqua Lock after a referral from a friend who was pleased with their work as we had a small crack in our foundation that would leak after a hard rain. The estimate was for a good price and the work was scheduled just a couple weeks later. A very pleasant Adam and his crew Jose and Manuel showed up as promised and did the work quickly and made sure there was no mess left behind. Highly recommended. read more

Unresponsive and unprofessional. Did not respond to requests for over a week then denied being responsible for the mess left behind in our neighborhood. If they are this careless about what the work site looks like after they are done, I can't imagine much care goes into the actual service. read more

I am hoping this post will assist my neighbors/community to make sound decisions. It's important that we all share in social media as to how companies who provide services to our community held accountable; and not hide behind their so called "contract" or "fine prints" by displaying carelessness, disrespect and unprofessionalism towards the customers' properties and their well-being. We contacted Aqua Lock (Radon Mitigation) first week of November 2019 and we were told that they should be able to install Radon Mitigation system within 2- 3 weeks of our initial visit - after we were charged a 10% fee and signed a contract. I received a call within a couple of days, informing me that they would not be able to do this job until January 15,, 2021 and she told me; "I hope you'll understand!" I told her "I thought this was supposed to be 2-3 weeks waiting - not 10 weeks!" She replied, "Yes, we are just so busy." I agreed, since I had already spent whole bunch of time with the Sales guy and signed the contract - we decided to stay with them. Finally, January 15th arrived and our appointment was at 12pm - I received a call at 12pm that they were going to be late, and they would to be at my house by 1:30pm. They finally showed up and I ask them "before you guys start anything, is there anything I should know?" They said, "No, we'll take care of everything." This mitigation system is being installed in our home office. I already moved lots of stuff out of their way. Not to mention, I was told the mitigation needs to be connected; so, the electrician should be at my house same day between 3:30 - 4:30pm. Guess what? The electrician never showed up that day or called. The electrician showed up unannounced around 1:30pm the next day. Here is what happened: The pipe installed was crooked - not straight. Clear silicone was applied very sloppily around the pipe by the ceiling. Left a hole in the ceiling filled with the clear silicone. Left a black mark on the carpet by the closet and smeared silicone on the carpet by the base of the pipe. Did not cover the items in the closet, the furniture in our office or the carpet; so Dust was on everything and everywhere in our home! Additionally, my husband and I have Allergy to dust. It took the company 5 days before they actually came and addressed some of the above issues (yes, the pipe is still partially crooked, the ceiling in the closet needs painting; silicone smeared on the carpet and dust left everywhere in our home). After that, I left several messages, including emails for the owner / Jay. He did not call me back. Also, he and his staff stopped answering my calls. When I called the office -no matter what time I called- it kept going to their voicemail. After calling the owner/Jay for 10 days, he finally called me and this is what he told me, "I am not going to cleaned dust in your house - why don't you wear a mask and clean it yourself? It should take you 20 minutes." I responded, "I don't appreciate the way you are handling this issue. I was hoping that you are a reasonable business owner to show care and respect to your customer." He repeated himself in an annoying tone, "I am not going to clean your house." I had no idea it was my responsibility to clean up after his crew. This guy rudely shifted his responsibilities on to his paying customer/us. Do you guys want to know what else he told me? He told me, "It is in your contract certain amount of dust to be expected." Except, our home had gone through hurricane of white dust! Then, I asked, "Did you see the white dust everywhere, when you came to my house? He said, "Yes, but, I am not going clean your house." I asked, "Did you notice that our house was clean prior to this job? He said, "Yes, but, I am not going to have your house cleaned." I asked, "Can you at least have our office cleaned from dust, since we have to work in there and our guest room - as we are expecting a guest?" He said "No". He told me, "I installed the system, and it works - I did my job." Folks, you'll be the judge. I did my part to inform all of you; so, you don't have to encounter/deal with such unprofessional and disrespectful company like Aqua Lock in Louisville. Buyers Beware!!! read more

But I have to say Tim and his crew were polite, clean, efficient, hard-working and they made the experience a whole lot easier. Took many trips to finally get the radon to the level it should have been! Unfortunately they cracked the furnance vent pipe that runs to the outside After a year of venting the furance into the wall cavity the plaster above the cracked pipe has begun to bubble up and spread. They have looked at it however after 10 plus calls they have refused to fix the pipe. The owner will not return phone calls and we have to look at the wall damage for the past 6 months. A simple fix but they really do not care about their customers satisfaction or the damages they caused. We will not be recommending them to the many home owners that we come into contact with on a daily basis. It is a shame that they do not respect their customers home and property! read more

We called Aqualock and they came and our water worries are gone!!! They were as clean as humanly possible doing this work. Courteous and helpful and answered any questions we had. The office staff as well worked to help us get rid of any fears we had in contracting this work. We would recommend them as THE company to go to for issues you are having with water!!
