    Smoked bacon burger
    Gabby B.

Burger! Burger! Burger! My boyfriend and I stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday night and we were nicely surprised to know that it was $1 oyster night! They have a weekly specials menu along with their regular main entrees, cocktails and drinks. We of course ordered a few oysters to start and some beers from their draft selection. I was dying for a good burger so I went with their specials menu which featured a yummy bacon, sauteed onion cheeseburger. My boyfriend wanted something light so he decided to try their boi boy sandwich. The nice waitress recommended the truffle fries, she mentioned those were her favorite, so we ordered some on the side because our entrees did not come with any. The oysters were very good! We really liked the side sauces which had a nice spicy kick! The burger was the star of the show! It was cooked perfectly and it was super juicy! I enjoyed every bite! We had a great dinner date night and enjoyed the nice spacious restaurant.

Ordered catering and honestly very impressed with the quality and quantity of food for the price. Mac and cheese was great, potato salad was spot on, not sweet, and burgers/sandwiches were huge, juicy, with great toppings. The only item I wouldn't get again is the beignets. Overall, great food.

Industrial meets lounge - with super high ceilings - painted black and windows that run from ceiling to floor looking out to Main St., Cambridge-. To the right when you walk in there is a simply long bar with high top seating along the back wall along with in front of the bar. Brown couches with black leather seats with wood accents. To the left of the bar includes more bench seats and cafe style seating on the other side of the bench seats. Stopped in to have a drink with present company and only needed a quick app- I chose sweet potato fries - was not expecting that I would taste a little cinnamon with every bite- which made the experience of having just plain sweet potatoes fries more delicious than usual

In terms of foot traffic, this restaurant is in a tricky location. It's great in that it's in the no man's land between Kendall Square proper and Central Square (I've rarely seen it very busy) but unfortunate in that they don't get the proper patronage from being directly in either of those Squares. I went with a couple of friends on a Tuesday ~5pm to try out their happy hour food menu and dollar oysters. We ordered a dozen oysters and the happy hour chicken tendies, fried chicken slider, and beignets. On the regular menu we only got the oxtail fries. The front of house service was great and attentive, but the kitchen time was seemingly unnecessarily long? It took about a half hour for the oysters to come and when they did arrive, we were told that they were the last ones. Granted I've never seen the crowds at lunch, so either they get hammered for oysters at lunch or they don't order too many? Anywho the oysters themselves tasted great, not too briny and a good size. However on 2/3 of them I did get some shell in the slurp. After another 30-45min after ordering the food, I guess you get what you paid for because the chicken tendies was two smallish, seemingly school lunch sized tendies with a small cup of honey mustard (it was hot and tasted fine). The fried chicken slider was also hot and fine. The term beignet is used in the most loose way possible in that they were more like small rectangular croissants with a caramel-y syrup drizzled on top. So I suppose it was a fried dough with sugar on top but don't expect the classic New Orleans beignet with powdered sugar. Lastly the star of the show, the oxtail fries. My friend heard that they were good and they alone were worth the wait. - Also all of the items that I ordered with the exception of the oysters, came out on quarter sheet pan trays. - For $22 I would say it was a good serving size with a good amount of oxtail on it with a surprising amount of depth of flavor to it; definitely the highlight of the visit. I would definitely visit again and try some other items off their regular menu. The happy hour choices were enticing but I'd rather pay more for more substantial food.

The food was delicious... some things to note. They were playing extremely vulgar music during my visit. It just did not feel like the kind of music to be listening to while enjoying a great meal. Additionally, one employee in particular was sitting at the bar - we were the only customers there at the time - and full on sneezed onto the counter. He wiped it with a napkin, and went back to his business. After that, I decided I didn't want dessert.

The smash burgers were really good and so were the oxtail fries. The service was great and they were very accommodating with our big group and for gluten allergies. If you're craving a burger, I'd highly recommend this spot! It's a bit hard to tell that it's a restaurant from the outside of the building.

The cousin stizz fries are the best on the menu!! Huge portion of fries with sauce and fried chicken. I also liked the burgers but some of them don't come with a side. Only thing to note is that they don't let you eat in the restaurant if you order at the kiosk even if their seating is near empty. They also have a bar area as well.

My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant during its soft opening last night. We hadn't noticed it before, so we thought, "Let's check it out tomorrow." Fast forward to today, and I'm so glad we did! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the sound of soca music -- a pleasant and unexpected surprise. You rarely hear soca in Cambridge, and it immediately set a joyful atmosphere, setting the perfect mood for a great meal. Being American-born with West Indian and Afro-Caribbean roots, I've spent my life between New York, Antigua, Guyana, and St. Lucia. I never fully embraced one culture but took in bits of all of them. This restaurant captures that blend perfectly -- an American foundation with a generous dash of Caribbean flair. Let's start with the Chicken Sandwich. Growing up in NY, I was familiar with a Trinidadian dish called "Shark & Bake," where you load up fried shark with chutneys and sauces to make it your own. I always go for every topping possible. The chicken sandwich here brought back those flavors. Swap the bun for a Trinidadian/Guyanese Bake, and you'd have a truly authentic island dish. The burger, specifically the Parisian, was fantastic. I'm a truffle fan, and this hit the mark. The burger was cooked to perfection, with flavors that were spot on. The Cajun fries were a win. They packed more spice than the usual Cajun fries in the area, which I appreciated. Drinks were on point, too. We tried a mimosa and an Old Fashioned. Both are easy to mess up, but the bartender nailed the balance of flavors. I chatted with him for a while, and it's clear he takes pride in his craft. I also learned about a drink called TRINIMOM, made with rum and sorrel. I've never had non-homemade sorrel in Cambridge, and I'm excited for this to change! As we were leaving, I saw a group being served plantains and wings, which looked like they followed the same Caribbean-inspiration. My mouth was watering, and I've already planned to come back for dinner. Suggestion to the owner: Consider adding Bake to the menu as an option for all sandwiches. And if you can throw in some other treats from home (Dhal Pouri, Poulori, Salara, Cassava Pone, etc.), I won't complain ;-) !

Great food, great staff! the buttered breaded chicken was incredible. It's the best the thing to try on the menu

My sister and I stumbled upon Bred as we were exploring the city. We are visiting from Nashville and on the menu, they have a "Nashville Hot Chicken" unfortunately I didn't try it. I got the chicken wings and truffle fries. Which didn't disappoint. The general manager was also a great time to talk too. Next time I am in town, we will be stopping back to grab a bite!

    Oxtail fries
    Simply E.

You must order the Oxtail fries, Po-Boy and a Gin gimlet on your first visit. I wanted to dip my Po-Boy into the oxtail gravy because it is that good. Jessica is a friendly and superior mixologist. The Owner Tambo is definitely a present owner, very personable, and you can tell the New Orleans cuisine is his love. Glad this place is now a staple in Cambridge. Being in the city for as long as I have been it finally feels so good to have good, tasty food and a comfortable place to chill and be happy. You won't be disappointed!!!

As I said earlier, it was busy and you could tell the wait staff was working to keep everyone happy! We were given menus and quickly asked what we would like to drink. The drinks were on our table in no time! We ordered one appetizer (buffalo fried brussel sprouts) and it came pretty quickly! I am not a big fan but my son and wife loved it! They raved about the seasoning and taste of the sprouts! (see picture) We put our orders in for dinner after finishing the sprouts. I ordered steak tips with frieds and ceasar salad, we had pan roasted flattened half chicken and a shaved kale and brussels salad to top things off. The food was delivered to our table in managable time. I would say 15 minutes from the time we ordered. The food was delicious and serving size was perfect. All three of were happy with our choices. The steak tips were perfect for me.....cooked medium well and juicy! We finished our dinner off with a dessert that my wife had heard of and wanted to order. I did not have any, but they raved about it! The Banana Break pudding was out of this world! I wish I saved some room as the smell was delicious and the size was perfect! WOW! It was so fun and childish I made sure to have every single sip. The person next to me even asked what I got. My friend got the thai martini and she said it was delicious and couldn't taste the alcohol which for her is dangerous lol. The burgers, which are what they are known for, were a site to see indeed. For the curry burger it essentially is a pool of curry with a split in half burgers sitting in it. I was afraid that the buns would be soggy and to my surprise it wasn't and was delicious with this nice mini crunch from the topping. I actually preferred my burger which was a Big Crunch and juicy with pickled mustard greens. I also realized my burger had curry sauce in it too. Special mention to the scallion fries, what came out was not what I expected but it was one of my favorites. We got two things listed as spicy on the menu but did not taste spicy above a level 1 or 2. We walked into a room where the walls are covered in memorabilia and every table is labeled with the name of a famous person who has sat there, giving the space a personality that no amount of designed ambiance can replicate. It feels like a place with genuine history rather than a place performing one. The burgers are the reason to come and they hold up after more than six decades without apology. The patties are thick and cooked to order, with medium being the right call for maximum juiciness. The creative topping combinations across the named burgers give you a range of directions to go depending on your mood. The Masshole is a natural starting point for a first visit, and the build your own option is worth knowing about if you want to go a more specific route. The portions are large enough that leaving satisfied is essentially guaranteed. The onion rings are a great choice of side for good reason, crispy and well seasoned in a way that holds up alongside the burger rather than competing with it, and the sweet potato fries are a strong alternative if you want something slightly less heavy. The frappes and shakes are worth ordering if you want something to wash it all down, and the raspberry lime Rickey is a summer ready drink with a refreshing taste.
