We have been loyal clients for 20 years. We started when it was $30 per dog for a wash and groom. Now it is $70 per dog. I took our dog in yesterday (Saturday) as we do every 3 weeks. When I came to pick him up I had forgotten the check my wife wrote... per usual for $80... giving them a $10 tip. When I got there I told Pat that I forgot the check and would bring it on Monday. She went 'postal.' She was rude and nasty saying I had to go all the way home to get the check. I told her I would not do that and after 25 years of being her customer she should trust me. She said she "banks every day" and that she wanted her money now and wanted me to assume she would hold my dog as ransom until I paid. I would have paid by credit card but she does not take credit cards. I told her that if I had to I would come in there and take the dog by force. It was a pretty ugly scene. I normally don't carry $70 of cash but I remembered that I had just filled my wallet with some twenty dollar bills... and fortunately I had four 20s. I gave her the cash and got a $10 back and told her "You should trust your customers. We would not 'stiff' you for the $70. I won't ever be back and we will tell all our friends who are also your clients." I left. My wife (who has known Pat and Carla longer than I have (she even gave them an extra $100 a couple of times during the pandemic since they were really hurting because no one was bringing their pets in) hit the roof about this. We were more than clients... we were friends. We are just stunned. We can't imagine what was going through Pat's mind. How could she not trust us to pay her on Monday? While this is not the first time Pat has been rude and nasty (once to our housekeeper who would bring in the dog,) we know she has health issues... but still there was no reason at all to "bark" at me like she did. She should have said "No problem. Just bring in the check next time you are in the area. We know and value you." They do a really good job which is why we have been loyal to them. But we won't be back unless we get a heartfelt apology... because there was no reason for her acting and saying what she did. read more

We have been customers of Breeders Corner for over 22 years. They have always been great with my dogs and my dogs always look amazing after "spa day." We had two poms, Manrico and Tawny with long, thick coats and now Fergie with her wiry terrier hair, and we are always happy with the outcome. The woman should not be a groomer any longer . She is cruel . I heard her shouting at my dog as I left, I also saw her shove him angrily into a cage . He was there for hours . When I decided to go to get him, not hearing from them, he was a mess locked in a cage and looked a mess, she was not friendly at all , I should have not left him there. I just took my dog Hudson here, he is not an easy dog to groom physically (long hair Aussie mutt) and he's very very nervous and can get aggressive when he feels threatened. I brought my other Shih tzu down the street from my house and wasn't to thrilled with how she came out and was over charged so I got on yelp and found these ladies I brought my little boy in cause he's been a bit scruffy and omg! They only charged me 48 for him I tried tipping lol but when I got home I realized they gave me exact change we were so caught up in conversation on Mikos behavior (He doesn't like being cut) that I didn't even think to check they deff did amazing and I loved how polite they were. I'm moving Monday but when I come to sac to visit I'm deff calling them for his touch ups I'm sure in time he will get use to the cuts. I've been taking my 3 dogs to Pat and Carla at Breeders Corner for years. I've tried other groomers, but they're the best! I have an old, cranky spaniel mix that no one can handle but them. They also do an amazing job with my rough collies. I'll post some photos of Rex after his coat was stripped at Breeders Corner- he looks half the size as when he went in and so gorgeous! Pat and Carla always do such a great job and they're so good about catering to Rex's "Sensitivities" (he's a big wimp about having his hair brushed!) They're friendly, warm, inviting, I always feel good about leaving my dogs here, knowing they'll be well cared for and they look amazing when I pick them up! The boys (Flame & BigRed) my two 5 month old Belgian Malinois pups learned about the dremel and got their "nails did" this weekend and will continue every two weeks. These ladies are AMAZING and I can't sing their praises enough. Pat is one of the most patient, understanding, and knowledgeable groomers in town. She 'gets' the relevance of puppies learning to get groomed and has always been patient, fair, and ends positive with these introduction(s) and follow up visits. She was there for me when my equipment was packed away and Neubie needed "clean up" cuts to keep cancer sores clear of hair and mess free anal gland expressing during and post Scout's (the pups father) leg surgery. (believe it or not big dogs can't always express them properly when they are on bed rest mending) and was/is the only person understanding and patient while I was trying to teach Scout about nail trims. Well at least to expose him. These ladies, especially Pat hands down have the best "hands" for our breed. I traditionally do my own grooming however I appreciate all the efforts and accommodations from Breeders Corner when I am introducing and/or need a hand with my guys. Even if you do your own grooming I believe your dog should have the exposure with capable people and know how to act if you are not able to do it, etc. THANKS LADIES! read more

I have been taking my Maltipoo here for the past three years. Pat and Carla are the two most compassionate caring groomers that I have met! They treat every pet on a personal level. My Maltipoo is extremely sensitive both physically and psychologically. She has extreme separation anxiety yet has never had a problem when I leave her here. I took my Yorkie to Breeder's Corner today. I'd heard many good things about them. I am so glad I took her there. I'm very happy with their work. When I left, she was a scared puppy. We have taken our labs there for about 20 years. Our original dog was always happy to see Pat and Carla! However, our most recent dog was scared to death of EVERYTHING and Pat and Carla were always so calm, patient and kind to her. Since the dogs didn't need grooming we opted for the "while you wait" (bath and quick towel semi-dry)and I always enjoyed the bit of time I spent there while the pups were getting suds-ed-up.
