The staff here was very friendly and helpful. They were able to choose the best bikes for us and provided helmets and bike bags at no extra charge. The hourly rates were awesome (slightly cheaper than others in the village) and there was not an up charge for returning the bikes minutes late than the rounded hours rented. The store offers cool ski products, footwear and other items to keep you set for your activities.

This review refers to how Appliance Factory falsely advertises prices online. I committed to purchase an appliance (oven) online. With information given, and 'successful order' emails sent to me, I had thought the purchase was final. Was not asked for payment which I thought was odd, but since I was picking this up at the store, figured that is when/where I needed to pay. Later, my wife gets a call saying the oven is not available. When I follow up, the excuse is that they made an error on the price. Should they not honor this price? I later called a 'supervisor', JonathanFfriedman whom claimed to be the district manager. Very rude, said he couldn't do anything about this, so I asked to speak with someone higher whom had the clout to make a decision. Mr. Friedman became very belligerent, stating HE was the top dog. Then he abruptly hung up on me. This is how they deal with a customer trying to give this company another chance after multiple mistakes. I realized why they did not ask for payment up front. If I could have paid online we would have a contract. So I am assuming this is their common practice for backing out of their word. Very dishonorable. In my opinion, a reputable company would have honored the stated price (also recorded with computer screenshots). Then, if it was their listing error, go back and fix the issue. This would only cost them whatever their markup is on this one appliance, and show good faith. Instead their different departments chose to point fingers at other departments, giving me the run around ending up with a Mr. Jonathan Friedman, whom I guess owns the company ("no one is higher than me"). Hopefully, the negative reviews I leave for this company will cost them more than their savings on one oven's profit.

I dealt exclusively with Rich, but some other people in my group dealt with Kevin (the owner), and everyone had a fantastic experience. Halfway through our trip my girlfriend and i decided to switch to snowboards (we ski and board), and they had no problems with getting us switched over (we even got a free upgrade). Great prices, great service, what more could you ask for? Next time we come to Breckenridge, we'll definitely be coming back here for gear rentals.

I caught some good sized fishies too. 22" Rainbow and a 20" brown...and one got away because of operator error. But overall, this was a perfect spot, fabulous instruction and a great new sport to embrace. Norm taught me how to tie a knot, showed me what bait to use and got me wading in about 3' of water. We came back in the morning of our trip, bought our licenses and waited for the guide. While waiting we heard the clerk calling the guide to find out why he wasn't there yet, but he had no clue he was supposed to work so no trip. The clerk said the owner "John" forgot to schedule a guide. Guess what John didn't forget to do? He remembered to charge me for the other half of the trip that same morning. The clerk said he didn't know how to refund our money so we'd have to wait for the owner who he couldn't reach on the phone. I wish this was the end of the story. I called my CC company when we returned only to find out they only refunded me half the cost of the trip. I called the fly shop several times leaving messages over the next week and a half, but they never called me back or emailed me about the mix up or my refund. Finally they refunded the other half of the trip, but not the cost of our licenses, which we never got to use. I hire guides often on trips so I'll say this to my fellow fishing travelers: Avoid this shop! Mistakes happen, but how I was treated after the problem shows the real character of this place and the ownership. Are you listening Orvis? Is this who you want representing you?
