I let that go at the time, assuming it was an isolated issue. Unfortunately, I am now having a similar and even more concerning experience. I recently purchased tickets for an upcoming production and only discovered that the company is listed as "temporarily closed" when I visited the website to confirm the address. No notification was ever sent to inform ticket holders that the production would no longer be taking place. Since learning this, I have reached out multiple times to request information about when I would receive a refund for my ticket. To date, I have received no response. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service is extremely disappointing. Customers should not have to actively investigate whether a paid event is still happening, nor should they be left without responses regarding refunds for canceled productions.

Parking is easy in the complimentary surface lot adjacent to the venue. Getting seated is just as easy. Compared to other theaters in town, part of what makes ABT different is that you have the option to do the show only or to do dinner and a show. If you do the latter option, you arrive earlier. I've done show only both times but I like that you have the option here. Before or during admission, you can stop by the lobby and pick up a themed cocktail or other beverage. Always a nice touch. The venue is clean, the seats are comfortable, and the performances have been quality. I most recently saw a performance of CATS. Already looking forward to my next performance!

I've been here recently now for 2 shows that I would call nontraditional, but man, they were great shows, and I had such a blast. The layout of the theater is great. I was on the 1st level for one show and on the 2nd level for the 2nd one. Despite being on the 2nd level, it still gave a personal feel and kept us engaged. If you don't like heights, make sure to arrive early to get in the lower level, as once you're on the upper level, it does go shallow & up. Getting cocktails from the bar downstairs typically has a long line, but if you go upstairs, there's usually another make-shift bar to help offset it. I didn't take advantage of any parking, as I used a ride service to the venue, as I just wanted to get dropped off at the door. It's hit or miss with parking, especially if there is something going on at the arena (basketball, concert, baseball game, etc...) Looking forward to the next event.

So far we've seen dancing, arialists, contortionists, magicians, musicians, interpretative dancing, vaudeville acts, running gags, and circus performers. It's been incredible. And you should come, it's the best place to see local theatre and entertainment. We've met so many delightful people we call friends. I can't wait till next month.

Located right next to Urban Beans in Phoenix in a quaint little U-shaped set of storefronts. Have seen numerous events there and enjoyed every one. Great atmosphere, seating, and lighting. Pay online or at the door. Always something going on. Diverse acts and plenty of opportunities to support local acts and artists.

(check their website for year round performance info.) For the annual Phoenix Improv Festival at the Herberger Theater, they jury in the best groups from around the United States for one action packed weekend. All you have to do is show up at the theater (well, get tickets first of course) and you'll have an opportunity to see some of the most interesting improv groups from around the USA all without spending a minute waiting for a flight out of sky harbor airport. Get ready to stretch your perceptions of what improv is, as these groups have so many different takes on it. Some will make you laugh, others will be wickedly irreverent or will amaze you with their talents at weaving a cohesive story line. Still others will have you thinking about them a month or longer after seeing their performance because of all the subtle intricacies woven in. Phoenix's veteran improv groups frequently travel to other major cities to perform and have a key role in teaching and mentoring some of the up and coming local groups participating in the festival. What a great opportunity for all to share the stage with groups from outside AZ and interact offstage. fantastic learning opportunities that will only make the Phoenix improv community continue to grow better and stronger and deeper. However, the prices are more than fair: how can you beat three performances for $15.00!? That is cheaper than a movie, and SO MUCH more fun! I attended both the 7 PM and 9:30 PM shows on April 18, 2009 (for a total of six performances), and without a doubt (and of no surprise to me) I was most pleased with WeirDass. Most of you will know Stephnie Weir from MADtv. I was doubly pleased because I had not expected any, what I would call, "headliners." Though I think there is a huge opportunity to market the Festival to the masses that is being overlooked...all in all, I think the Festival has the potential to become great.
