Since John works with kids, he had a program suited for the pre-teen age group and their emotional needs/communication that didn't feel "childish" to my 10 y/o. After about 2 weeks (1 session a week) , our family dynamic changed for the better. The weekend takes you through identifying your destructive painful cycles of hurting each other; helps build appreciation and gratitude; discovers your raw spots/ triggers and helps you own them; brings deeper emotional connection in the present moments; helps you forgive long turn injuries; gives you language to express your love and affection; and deals briefly and effectively about having a more meaningful and fulfilling sex life. The material is so powerful and intense but cleverly mixes in a lot of humor and variety. Dr Diana's selection of extra video content makes it fun and spicy: from Brent Brown cartoons to "It's not about the Nail." (Look it up) Bonus: There are about 14 couples and about 7 highly trained and effective (EFT/ Emotionally Focused Threrapy) therapists who are available to assist you in your 7 different "dialogues"- times of individual couples' work. We utilized 5 different counselors and the quality of their insights and assistance was through the roof! Maryam, Doug, Dale, and Mariah especially were outstanding in helping get unstuck and getting to the root of our long- established, stubborn, hidden issues that sabotage our happiness. Their expertise was offered so gently without judgment and added so much value to the weekend. I felt like this was what made the workshop soar above and beyond. The setting is remarkable! It is a beautiful location packed with flowers, hummingbirds, amazing trees, private seating nooks for privacy, and such a feeling of peace and security.
