Nice family run restaurant with good food, good service in a nice comfortable setting with budget friendly prices. We ordered the Western Omelette & the Daily special with one beverage. Our meals were served quickly even though it was quite busy & no complaints on the food. The only possible negative about the restaurant is the parking situation. I'll start by saying this is a great little spot in Bolivar for breakfast. I was pleased with the food and the small town feel. The only down fall, is that it took way too long to get our breakfast. Perhaps it was just a bad day with staffing, as there were a number of locals who seemed to be regulars. Will definitely give it another chance. read more

Brenda's is the must go to breakfast spot for me when I am in Bolivar! The food is always delicious, fresh and reasonable because you get a generous meal for the price. I really enjoy their omelets, hash browns, bagels and English muffins. They also make delicious waffles, pancakes and sides as well. I absolutely enjoy their tasty coffee every time I visit for breakfast. I have always enjoyed breakfast and will try something from their lunch items soon as they are open until 2:00pm. As delicious and home cooked their yummy breakfast are I must mention their Amazing service. The Staff is always friendly, warm and welcoming! My husband and I have wanted to try this cafe and today was the day. We ordered the western omelet which came with a biscuit and gravy. They split it for us in the kitchen so the photo shows just half of the order. The food was excellent. Western is our go to, and it had wonderful flavor and the hash browns were nice and crispy. Guess it was okay but so loud it was hard to talk to the person across the table. Also, the seating was hard everywhere , no soft seats anywhere . Was not impressed with the slow service even getting a refill was a challenge . It took forever to get waited on with several waitresses walking passed us . The parking lot is deplorable on the street as well with pole out in parking spot and garage doors and an alley . Really a person must be very hungry or having the ill fate of actually meeting a group there to have to deal with all this . We won't be back or meeting anyone there again . Brenda's Cafe was #1 on my to-try list as I'd heard nothing but great things about the delicious food and wonderful service. My boyfriend, a local who frequents Brenda's on a weekly basis, told me he couldn't wait to bring me along for his usual Saturday morning breakfast stop. Our lovely server, Trish was sweet, attentive and incredibly helpful during our visit! I live in Las Vegas and rarely experience the warm, friendly service she offered us and it was such a nice surprise to go along with our experience. The food was served up fresh and fast and tasted delicious!!! My 6-year-old sipped on hot chocolate with marshmallows and enjoyed an adorably-plated Minnie Mouse pancake (we were on vacation so I figured the excess sugar intake was allowed) and I had a classic breakfast with over-easy eggs (perfectly cooked I might add) along with hash browns and probably the most amazing bacon I've ever had!! Needless to say, I can highly recommend Brenda's to anyone passing through Bolivar or a local who maybe has not ventured out and tried it. This place is a Bolivar treasure, especially at breakfast. You'll be hard pressed to find a better deal anywhere. By no means is this a hip place for the young kids, the median age is about 60. For breakfast, I usually get the sunrise, which is two scrambled eggs (which aren't great; eggs are this places weakest item by far), hashbrowns, and two biscuits with gravy. Don't listen to any bad reviews! These are people that wouldn't be happy if God himself served them manna from heaven! I eat here every Saturday when I am in town and the food is great. It is homemade "Southern Comfort" food. The bacon is the best in the country. The waitresses are friendly and the service is fast and efficient. It is a great place to meet locals. In downtown, parking may be limited buy great breakfast. Friendly and prompt staff, big portions, reasonable prices and good coffee. Don't sit in the middle of the establishment during hot, humid weather because AC condensation dripped through the ceiling. Good and service makeup for that deficiency. Also you will not wait long to be served, the place can be packed but your order will arrive quite soon after you order it. Expect your coffee cup to be continually filled. If in doubt what to order you won't go wrong with ham and eggs with hash browns and biscuits and gravy on the side. Then plan to skip lunch. For lunch try the pork tenderloin sandwich with fries. You can eat there for no more than $7 for their biggest breakfast, including the bottomless cup of coffee. The waitresses take turns refilling everyone drinks, no matter if it is there table or not.
