My husband called because our generator needed it's points set. If you look at the section of the invoice it states the reason for the service. He wanted the points set. ** He usually services it himself & did do some maintenance on it but didn't set the points he works out of town & doesn't have time ** If you look at our invoice everything BUT the points being set was done. We paid for an overpriced oil change. *Check the general condition of generator *Clean generator when necessary *Change Engine Oil with Synthetic *Replace Oil Filter *Replace Air Filter, if needed *Replace Spark Plugs *Check Wiring for Loose Connections. Corrosion & Damage *Clean & Tighten Battery Terminals *Start generator and warm up *Transfer Power (If ATS Accessible) for 10 Minutes My husband called the office and spoke to Tracy and asked if the points were set. My gas powered dryer died on me and I wanted to switch to electric. My wife and I are new home owners and we were clueless on how to do it. after Asking everyone I knew for referrals it was obvious I had to call Brent Cogan! I'm very glad I did because he had a crew up to my house in Cresson super quick and the whole job done in one day! Not only did they complete the job but they educated us along the way so I fully understood what They were doing, why they did it and what to expect cost wise. The home we purchased was built in the 50s and had very outdated electrical, so the job turned from just adding the line to replacing the whole panel box to support the new dryer ! I scheduled time to have an estimate done. I rushed over to the home to meet them for the estimate and waited patiently for 30 minutes past the appointment time. I then called to confirm they were still coming and was assured that Brent got stuck in a meeting but would be there shortly. I waited another hour and a half and still nobody showed. I called back and was greeted with an answering machine stating they were closed and to leave a message. Nobody ever even called back to apologize for the no show, or to reschedule the appointment. Brent came out and looked at the project we were doing and spent time discussing options to really make it work and still meet strict codes. His crew did great work and were very professional! We had this company do all of our electrical work when we moved into our new home. They were recommended by our contractor(and he wasn't anything to brag about either). The owner (Brent Cogan) came to talk to us to see what we wanted. The whole time he was here he kept looking at his watch and saying he had to go. You could tell he wasn't listening to anything we said, therefore we didn't get things wired like we wanted and paid for. Some of the light switches didn't work, they would only put 1 light on the ceiling in a 70ft. basement, when you tried to change a light bulb you couldn't get the bulb out without the whole inside of the socket coming out. We called about our flood lights not working from the beginning and he just gave us the runaround. Finally he said the warranty was up but he would come and look at it, but it would be $180. He got everything from a warehouse that carries cheap junk and then charges for top of the line supplies. We have heard so much about this guy since and he still gets voted "Hometown Favorite." They were called in to connect a wall oven and cook-top by the kitchen contractor. Mr. Cogan suggested we replace our electrical panel. On 8/29/2019 they replaced our panel and prior we did not have any lighting problems, after the panel was replaced we had numerous lighting problems. The technician blamed the contractor for the problems. On 8/30/2019 I called to see if a technician was coming and due to Labor Day weekend nobody would be available until Tuesday. On Tuesday we did not hear from anybody and I called after lunch and had to leave a message, on Wednesday afternoon I called and left a message again and also called to contractor to explain the problem. He said he would get a hold of Mr. Cogan. On Thursday after still no word, I called and talked to the receptionist and explained the frustration, in not so kind of words said if nobody was here today I would call another electrician to come and fix the problem and hope the home did not burn down in the meantime. The contractor did not hear from Mr. Cogan-later that night Mr. Cogan called the contractor and said he would have somebody here 1st thing in the morning. Friday morning the technician fixed the problem in 30 seconds. He was the technician that hooked by the cook-top and wall oven and found loose(not connected) ground wires. When we paid the bill we deducted money from the bill and explained our situation why we deducted from the bill. In mid November we received a call to when we were going to pay the balance of the bill and my wife said NEVER and explained to the lady the frustration in getting our problem resolved. Prior to the panel being replaced we did not have any problems and when we finally had a technician come back a week later no problems since. Cogan Electric was very quick to blame the contractor for the problems with the electric. We have many Local 5 electricians in our family and they said this work was very poor and careless and explained the possible consequences. I will continue to spread a negative word about Cogan Electric and NEVER use them again. If you use Cogan Electric be prepared to have poor quality work and Cogan Electric will NOT return phone calls. read more
