I tried to have them come to my home for an estimate to put in a breaker box and wiring. 2 times I requested an estimate with phone calls, leaving voicemails. Next I used their website to request an estimate. When there was again no response, I stopped into their office. I spoke to a gentleman who said someone would call me in the next 24 hours. Again I had no contact from their office to get an estimate. If this is how they treat previous clients, their work may also may now be a concern. read more

I had an excellent experience with them. Our outside lights connected to three different switches were not working. John one of the technicians identified that it is a complex problem, then Gary came and found the exact nature of the issue and had a couple of options. Both John and Gary came back, and under Gary's able direction the problem was resolved. Dealing with them was pleasant and I would call them back surely for any electrical issues. read more

We couldn't be happier with the work completed by Miller Electric. We had pendant lights installed in the kitchen and additional lights installed in the basement. They did a fantastic job! Meh, indeed. I hired ME for a microwave install and I really think that they should not have taken the job. The initial person they sent was not comfortable at all with the service, weight of item, or tools necessary. He took over two hours and lots of bumbling back and forth to the truck to get a wall mount installed. A second team was sent 4 days later to finish hanging the microwave, and they put to gouges in the paint on the wall in the process. After all of that, I received a bill for 4 hours of work. I called to explain, and I was reprimanded for not telling them up front that 2 people were "needed" to do the job....um, that's why i hired professionals. The only thing I need to be reprimanded for is not asking the guy to leave and forget the job when I saw how uncomfortable he was with it all. Also, I was told that they charged for 20 minutes of drive time from Boalsburg to Bellefonte and that "every service company does that." Well, this is the first service company who did that to me. And I think this is all to cover that they were not comfortable with the job in the first place. My bill was dropped, but I'm still not terribly happy with the outcome. Have a "regular" lighting install or something like that? Don't hesitate to hire these guys - they do a good job, aside from the drive time charge. Anything off the typical electrical playbook? We've had Miller Electric do a number of projects at our house over the past several years. The quality has varied a bit. Lester, who installed our generator, was excellent--had been an electrician in the Navy. But we also had an older guy come out, named Wes I think, and he had a terrible attitude and didn't do a very good job. When we wanted to have a ceiling fan installed, he made the hole in the ceiling before making sure that there wasn't a ceiling joist above that spot. As you'd expect, he cut the hole right where a joist was, so the hole was too big and needed to be patched after he installed the ceiling fan, and he didn't have the right materials to do a good patch job, so it looked like a child patched the gap between the ceiling fan and the joist. He also installed a baseboard heater for our bathroom, but the heater he brought didn't have a top on it--it only had open, exposed coils. I told him we couldn't keep that because we had a young niece and nephew who might accidentally touch it (plus who in the world would want to have exposed heat coils in your most heavily used bathroom). He called back to the office to tell them that I wanted a different heater, and when he hung up the phone, he told me that his boss said, "Maybe those children should learn how to keep their hands away from a heater." I called the boss back after Wes left, and he said he never said such a thing. I believed him and felt that the passive-aggressiveness of Wes was unprofessional. We need an electrician to do some work for us, but we're going to look for someone else. read more
