After dealing with shady sales tactics from Lowes and a few other vendors, I was pleasantly surprised when the Owner Rich came down from Salem, NH to personally review my needs. He explained that the 8K was more than enough for me. Now, keep in mind that the Lowe's rep suggested a 14kw, go figure. Rich's proposal was all inclusive and very straightforward. He offered financing through Generac but I ended up using personal finances. All it took was a 50% deposit and the work was scheduled. Rich showed up early on the install date as scheduled. My town was unique in that they required a building permit, so that stalled the process, but Rich was there throughout the entire process. There was one hiccup with the gas guy being behind, but once he installed the gas lines, it was good to go. The personal touch by Rich is what sets Alpine electrical services apart from all of the other dealers. My weekly generator exercise hasn't been working properly, so Rich has been very responsive in ensuring that it's working as promised. I drive a diesel car so I'm aware of the price at the pump but there's always at least a 75 cents difference. This time Palmer's price was 3.949 before discount. The Sunoco here in Rochester pumps diesel for 3.899. That includes road taxes. So what goes on with the price now? The commodity prices are at 2.33 to 2.40 this week. Quite the mark up.

Again I gave the tech 5 stars but again they called and began trying to get a better "customer review". Told them the cost was insane and it seems like a case of fraud as I never got a detailed receipt outlining the parts etc. I'm thinking of collecting info and retaining a lawyer to get to the bottom of this. They picked up my snowblower within a few days. I then received a phone call stating I needed a new belt and carburetor. The quote came to 600 for the total repair. I decided to not go ahead with the service due to the price being too high. Even still I got a payment request for 294.99! I was quite shocked because I said I didn't want to do the repair. I was told they automatically do a routine service prior to any repairs, the price was on their website, and I should have asked first! The 294.99 wasn't even for them to repair what I wanted done (carburetor)! So basically they charge 294 to even look at your snowblower. No wonder why they were offering free pickup/drop off. My snowblower was still broken! I checked their website and service prices were NOT listed. I made it very clear that I did not authorize any service and was unhappy. I went back and forth via text and they told me that's how they do business and I should have asked for prices prior to. I am not used to doing buisness like that. When you bring a car to a mechanic they don't just do services without getting authorization first. After some back and forth they gave me 50.00 off. I paid because they refused to return my snowblower without payment. They returned it about a week later. I bought the oem carburetor for 35.99 and installed it. This company is a complete disgrace and I can only imagine how many people they have scammed !
