I need lights installed in a dark basement. Mike did an excellent job even though I requested some changes toward the end of the job and finished a day ahead of schedule. We had Four Star come out to our house to install outside lighting after they had been ruined by a lightening strike that went through our entire house. They did a nice job on the outside lights so we asked them about replacing the recessed lighting in our kitchen. They recommended LED all-in-one recessed lights and gave us a quote for $700 to install new lights (7 lights). They recommended LED lights and I expressed my concern that coming from incandescent light I was worried they would register too blue. They assured me they would get the warmest ones available. When they were installed they were very blue and I discovered they weren't the "warmest" version we could get. I called them and they came back and installed the warmer ones. What I realized when all of this was happening is that they were just screwing in the new units into the existing sockets and snapping in an electrical connection. And the lights were still too blue. They charged us $100 per light for a job that took less than 3 minutes per light. We were completely taken advantage of. I feel stupid for putting myself in this position, but tradespersons who take advantage of the public are unscrupulous in my opinion. We are now in the process of replacing the lights ourselves, but I would not recommend these electricians to anyone. They are not to be trusted with your hard-earned money. read more

My kitchen had an outlet with burned wires. Mike from Four Star Lighting and Electric came out and fixed the problem. It was not overpriced, so reasonable. Plus he took time to explain things to me so I also knew what was going on. I also had other outlets replaced. This is the 2nd time I used this company. Both times they were just great!!! I am always afraid to get charged more by contractors because I am a woman but this company is just so honest and efficient. And it took me months and a lot of extra work to get reimbursed for the television that they broke while they were working in my home.
