I was also told that it is the 43rd hardest golf course in America, the 5th most scenic in New England and also in great shape - all (3) are correct. I had 13 pars, 2 birdies shot 80 and lost 5 golf balls from the back tees. The scenery is off the charts, the double burger and cold beer were awesome. In fact they have a deal there, whatever you shoot is the price of your first 16oz draft - so 80 cents it was. Call the pro-shop and ask them about that coupon, I bet they give you that price - worth the 80 minute drive from downtown Boston.

Three weeks ago, I submitted their online form for a "Stay and Play" package in June--one night and 36 holes of golf. I never received a response. I called and spoke with Zak, who told me they were busy that weekend but would check with his manager and get back to me. A week went by with no follow-up. I called again, spoke with Zak, and was told he was waiting on a group of 18 to confirm and would call me Friday with an update. Once again, a week later no call. I called and left a message on voicemail for Zak. For the last time, no response. Fifteen years ago, my brother and I had a fantastic weekend here celebrating my 50th birthday, but sadly, the Country Club of New Hampshire has gone downhill since then. We'll be taking our business to another course and hotel.

It's a shame because the layout is great and location is accessible. Clearly they're hurting for cash or competence. During the drought after Covid it went to hell, we keep giving it a shot, but they can't seem to get it together. For $74 it's a massive let down. For $45 I'd accept it for what it is. I really want to like it, but I just can't. I'll be back in a few years to try again, but I'm not holding out hope unless they actually put effort into improving conditions.

The toilet seat in the men's room was very old and stained. Unacceptable.

I'm not sure if this on purpose or a lack of maintenance. Course had nice views. Very hilly, some blind shots, but not as many as Killington. It was very tough to figure out how to get to the next hole, we had to turn around a few times. After we finished the round, we wanted to check out the bar and maybe grab a bite to eat. However, there is no bar or restaurant. Just a snack window, though it appears the food they were producing was high quality. Overall, for $120, I'd rather go to Green Mountain. Though, Fox Run is still be best course "around" - hands down.

I live in the south now and forgot how much work it is to golf in the mountains. I'm using that as an excuse for how many balls I lost, and not an indicator of how poorly I played at all. The price for two of us for a round with a cart was 46 dollars, not bad at all. The course was well kept and had a few challenging holes, at least for this newbie to the sport. The greens were consistent throughout and the fairways were wide and rolling. Did I mention I hardly saw anybody else out on the course? No one hurrying us along. The closest group were three holes behind us. That's nice on a sunny saturday afternoon. It's too far out of the way to go for just the day, but if I'm ever in the area, I'll definitely be back.

The course is beautiful, with a manageable front and long back 9 (6500 yrs) from the middle tees. The course is open and even high handicap golfers will not lose many balls; there are really only a few spots on the course that are truly out of bounds. The staff is typically very friendly, Jeremy who manages the bag room is particularly nice. The pros are all great too. The whole place is well maintained, as they do host PGA (junior/womens) events from time to time. The greens play very fast towards the end of summer, and some of them slope in ways that will really frustrate anyone. Price-wise, the place is on the upper end if you have no college affiliation (about 140 or so) but is exceptionally cheap for students (35 dollars) so definitely a place to visit if you are in the area and still in school. The course truly cannot be recommended enough, and it offers some exceptional views of both the Williams College campus and the surrounding areas.

If you end up playing here, though, you'll be treated to one of the best 18 holes you can play in Massachusetts. This course is very well maintained, and very challenging. There are almost no holes that you can survive with an innacurate tee shot. The course itself is very long, and has difficult shots around its very protected greens. The course was designed by Donald Ross, and you can see some of his trademark elements still in the design. If you' have enough money to become a member here, I would seriously consider it.
