On line shows a nice mini golf course in reality is a run down tiny cracked up area not taken care of for years. Very misleading advertisement using pictures that have to be 20 years old. We stayed on Memorial day weekend and absolutely no activities at all on a holiday weekend. Pool was being filled the day we arrived which was Friday before Memorial day my guess is a financial reason to wait for last minute to fill pool. On line store looks large and filled with stuff but it's tiny and pretty much empty. The positives would be our site was nice and although nothing going on place was clean. I can't think of any reason to return.

The more bizarre and surreal the better ... Dinosaur Land (White Post, VA, Professor Cline's Haunted Monsters Museum (Natural Bridge, VA), and Storybook Land (Egg Harbor Township, NJ) just to name a few. It's hard to say no to these wonderful time capsules. One that's been on our list for years is the original Santa's Land (no affiliation) in Putney, Vermont, which celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2022. After years of neglect and abandonment, I must admit we were a little apprehensive about the park taking on a more contemporary look. But thankfully that wasn't the case. We found the park to be quite enchanting complete with gingerbread men, life size elves from the 1950's and even an original carousel from Coney Island. Their larger-than-life slide will quickly remind you just how much fun can be had with a burlap sack. We had the pleasure of speaking with the new owner (of six and a half years). He recalled how he used to visit the park as a young child, and always told his parents that he wanted to one day own all of this. He not only made his dream come true, but he also saved the park from oblivion. The friendly staff seem to have a real passion for keeping this park alive and it shows! Thank you, THANK YOU, for a wonderful day. Santa's Land USA is a perfect balance of old and new for all to enjoy!

He allows some practicing before you get started. He'll help you out with each item you want to throw and give you pointers. I HIGHLY recommend getting the "throw everything" package. Axes are awesome and the other items really make it fun. They have a huge variety of things to throw besides axes, so give them all a try. And some are much lighter than axes; like the stars, playing cards and skinny axes. And some are bigger! The variety is a lot of fun. What makes this place cool is the games. You have the option to throw at a bullseye target if you like. But they also have a bunch of games you can play; bomb defuser, a game similar to wheel of fortune, a battleship like game a many others. They basically use a projector in each lane hooked up to an iPad for the games. The games are then projected on to the target. The owner mentioned that he will be upgrading the software so it scores automatically; pretty slick. They also have a "rage room" where you can smash various objects. A group was in there while we had our session and when they came out, they were all smiles. This is a great spot in downtown Keene. Again, the owner is very friendly, accommodating and helpful. The decor inside is really neat; a lot of rough sawn wood with some amazing historical pictures from Keene and the timber industry from back in the day.

The Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center is exactly what I was looking for during an unplug-and-get-outside…read moreweekend. It's fairly easy to get to - there aren't all that many roads in Vermont, so as long as you try and stay on the main ones, you'll get to the Outdoor Center eventually. It's that place right next to the cheese factory (!!!) with all of the cross-country skiers milling about. The lodge at the bottom is charming, complete with snack bar, rentail center, and crackling fire in the fireplace. The woman at the front desk and all the staff at Grafton Ponds (actually...pretty much everyone we encountered throughout the day), were so friendly. I saw a sign for a student discount after I had paid, and she refunded the difference in price to my entire group right there, on the spot. Our ski and boot rentals looked brand-spanking new, and trails were maintained beautifully. Speaking of the trails...a great combination of terrain. The trails were equally divided between flat, open-field skiing and winding, rolling, throw-yourself-downhill-and-hope-you-don't-hit-a-tree skiing (my favorite). The map is clearly marked, and trails are well-labeled. There's even an adorably rustic warming hut at the highest point - it has an old woodstove, some benches, and a lovely view. Grafton Ponds is lots of wholesome, outdoor fun for all ages and abilities.

They practiced and within few minutes they were looking like they had been experts! Then we could have fun on the trails. After the biking the children swam in the pond while we relaxed on the grass. I only give 4 stars because I feel this place could do a little better with more in-wood trail and fun stuff. We already look forward to come back to the area just for this.

The laser tag guns are so much more advanced than laser tag of my childhood but the cues from the gun about ammo, reloading, shots taken, and dying were all super clear. I haven't been paintballing for a long time, but this was easily the nicest place I've ever been. I…read moretook six kids there this Saturday, and it was completely painless to check them all in, and get their rental packages set up. It was absurdly easy, and took maybe 5 minutes total. The kids played ALL day and had an absolute blast. Paint wasn't cheap, but that's to be expected. Rental + 500 rounds was $50. In theory, 500 rounds should have lasted a few hours, but these kids hadn't played paintball before, so they were paint firehoses. Altogether we bought 8,000 rounds for 6 kids for 9am-4pm, which came to $272. We probably should have only needed about half of that, but kids will be kids. I think the standard math is 150 balls per hour in woodsball. 150*7=1,050. They got 500 with the rental. So we should have only needed about 4,000. Just know it can get really expensive, if you're not careful. Also, you have to pay attention to the hours. It says they open at 8am, but games don't start at 8am. They don't start until 9am. It's marked on their website, but easy to miss. I felt like it was (or could have been, anyway) a pretty good value, and the kids loved it.
